My Group: CRS Anonymous[Under Construction]
ETA @ 7 Jan 2013: Um, group's gone. LOL! Did I delete it or did GR? How bad is it that I don't know that?
Oooh! I have a question. I made my group public so others could see it if they wanted to. I noticed yours is private, Steph, but I can still look athte discussion board. By the definition above, it says I can't do that. So, now I'm confused! :)My brain is dead. I need more caffeine. Any ideas?
Steph -- this is cool. I've been trying to do this same thing on my profile page. But it only allows so many posts.

It took absolutely forever to get it set up how I wanted it (3 days almost nonstop). But boy is it quick and easy to update. I have to thank FlibBityFLooB for the idea. An unexpected side effect, it shows me how much of a junky I really am. lol
This is a great idea! I've started mine and have a ton of work to get it up-to-date - but boy is it fun!!Here's the link:

Judithe wrote: "LOL! How many do you have going now! Have fun with it!"A few too many. LOL! Once I organize all my stuff there I'll be deleting some others. Although, I'll still be keeping my original "secret" group for random chatter I don't want all GR eyes to see. >;)

Actually, I found the way to do that by just poking around the "advanced group settings", Flib. There you have the option to allow:
Non-members can view discussions.
Non-members can view bookshelves.
:D
@Steph - COOL! It didn't show up in the advanced settings when I had it as a public group and only showed when I switched it over. No wonder I was confused! Thanks, Steph! :)Here's a link to my group (now private)
I followed Flib's for my group to keep track of my challenges. I am not much of a speed reader compared to some of you but it's nice to update after each book read one post and paste it in the actual challenge thread when enough time has elapsed.I don't know how you guys do it...I have like only 4 'major' challenges to deal with. How so you keep up?
Here's a link to my group (private if I did this right)
Lol, it was my previous avatar. Red was easy to spot when looking for my posts in a thread. I kind of miss it.
Yep, it always feels weird when I change pics. Can't wait to scurry back to myself when I was 3. LOL
I know what you mean. I've grown used to this one, but I have missed seeing some of the others I've used in the past as well. A lot of people will change their avatar when we have team challenges, like Bingo, so they all match. I tend to change mine at the first of the year or when I feel the need for a momentary change. But, I typically return to one or two of my faves.
Hmm, I had a look when we became Black Cats for Bingo this round, but I didn't find any that would look decent all scrunched in a little avatar pic.
I used to have a group and then sort of did away with it. But I have recently started reconsidering it. I have thought about restarting one.
Sandra wrote: "Hmm, I had a look when we became Black Cats for Bingo this round, but I didn't find any that would look decent all scrunched in a little avatar pic."How about:
I like the 1st 2 Valerie, but they'd be scrunched a lot more than that for a profile pic. But thanks for lookin!!!
That could be a glitch (photo issues), Sara. I'm not sure, but I know a bunch of stuff isn't working correctly since their last update. Good luck w/it!Hope you enjoy your group! LOTS of challenges! :D
Here is my group, which is still a work in progress: Reesie's Reading Challenges. Very inspired by Barb's organization!
My group is also a work in progress. I've changed the way I organize things several times and I'm sure it isn't the last. Here's the link: Lauren's Reading Obsession
Beautiful, ladies! Well done. My group, which I linked at the top, is gone. And, I don't know if I deleted it or GR did. LOL! Is this old age?
LOL...blame it on GR! Or RL madness, you're not OLD! (Not that old is a bad thing, we've just got many years to go and stories to read before we get there!)
That's curious Steph. It never happened with my group but I always update it when I finish a book so when I update in a thread I have minimal work to do. Maybe it's related to traffic? I mean certain email addresses are deleted when they remain inactive for a period of time...does GR have a similar policy? If they are running out of space maybe they started doing it. Just a thought.
Could be. But, more than likely, I deleted it without realizing. No worries - I may create a new one. I have much of my ramblings stored in another, private group. So, I didn't lose anything too important. If I had, I would be sharing a tantrum. Thanks though. :D
Wow! I'm so glad I found this! I've started piling on the NBRC challenges, and the private group thing is a great idea. Thanks so much for sharing these!

Some of you have already mentioned starting a group for yourself in 2012. Any member of Goodreads can create a group. You can choose how visible, if at all, your group is to others.
We LOVE to see what everyone is reading, has read, and be friendly, encouraging Nosey Nellies, so if you'd like to share your personal group with the group, please feel free to share a link here.
If you need help on how to start your personal group, just holler, it's easier than it sounds. :D
