There is a Dutch author who published his books using his double surname 'Clinge Doorenbos'. He never used his initials (J.P.J.H.) or one or more of his first names on a publication, just this double last name 'Clinge Doorenbos'. Can I prevent Goodreads from listing this double surname as a first name followed by a surname, and if so, how do I do this?

There is no way to stop it, books are imported or added by users so if the i source has the author named that way with initials that is how it imports. The only thing to do is to check every so often and change profiles to match. Since it is double surname it should be fine, single names cannot be disambiguated so preferred those are not used
@PaulaThanks for confirming my suspicions :-)
As there is no way to prevent Goodreads from separating the two names, I'll just leave it the way it is. The author is so well-known by his double surname 'Clinge Doorenbos' that lots of people here in the Netherlands think that 'Clinge' is his first name, which is why I might as well leave it as I can't prevent the separation of the double surname anyway.
