Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments What has Patti been telling you about me Gingerlilly? I am the epitomy of sartorial elegance when I try. It's just that I haven't tried since 1986.

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Thank you Katie! The only short story (apart from those that appear in Tollesbury Time Forever) that I've written - so very grateful for your kind words!

Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) | 817 comments I have to admit I was beginning to wonder about your state of mind - but then I saw you're a psychiatric nurse, so now I know you're mad! ;)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Guilty as charged!! ; )

message 314: by Kath (last edited Jan 28, 2012 05:47AM) (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ha! Good one. Save some of your short story talent for the next Goodreads Group book though eh?

PS StationEry is paper and stuff. E for envelopes is how to remember it.

message 315: by Katie (new)

Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) | 817 comments Stafford obviously couldn't spell.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments S'what I do! Can't help it. You've got a stalker now you know!

message 318: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Make that 2 stalkers :-) loved the short story Stu. I think he should save some of his poetry for the next book too - what do you reckon Ignite?

And stu check out A Goodreads Gallimaufrey which is the last Goodreads book. Is really very good xx

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Happy to write anything for anyone me. Keeps me out of the The King's Head.

Actually, no it doesn't...

And now I have woken up (Down Under) and read your comment, Stuart. I hope they were happy tears. I meant what I said - yours is a book which will endure.

message 325: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Well, I'm pleased to report that I've written just over 1,500 words today of The Bird That Nobody Sees!!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments YAT! and I am sure it will the The Book That Everybody Sees.

message 327: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Let's hope so! Who wouldn't want to read a book about a midget, an angel and a washing machine without a door?!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Well I certainly would.

message 329: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments make that three angels, a pool competition and of course the bird that nobody sees!

message 330: by Gingerlily - The Full Wild (last edited Feb 02, 2012 06:28AM) (new)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Do the angels play pool? With the midget?

message 331: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments who knows?! Only 14,000 words in mate but, in my wholly weird imagination, anything is possible!!

message 332: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments I'm a bit in the groove now Karl. Hopefully I'll keep that up for a few weeks at least. Was hoping for a thousand words today and get to 74,000 by end of April - could be done before then though!

message 333: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments That's great going - my writing is like my diy - I get really into it for a while and then just grind to a halt. Drives my wife mad! (not so much the writing, but the half-finished house we live in!)

Yeah, a thousand a day is a good aim. When you've reached it, do you keep going or do you stop?

message 334: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments I know what you mean - I usually write from about 11pm when I've had a bottle or so of wine so I'm really proud that I've got this done today - a big achievement for me, this writing sober lark. Think it will be a big old night time wine time writing session later though!

message 335: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments If I have half a bottle I go to sleep! I'd be bleddy useless trying to type after a full one!

message 336: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments It just gets me very excited! Fires my imagination!!

message 337: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ah, that's the problem. Sometimes my imagination needs damping down a bit!

message 338: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Well it works for me! Helps me remember the story without thought thinkings getting in the way!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Thought thinkings. Hehe. Love it!

message 348: by Maureen (Mews) (new)

Maureen (Mews) (mews) | 711 comments I have already started highlighting passages. So far thats only happened with one other book I've read on my Kindle. ;-)

message 349: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments A few people have said that!! Not having a Kindle I only have a vague idea what that means - but being a positive soul I'm assuming it's a good thing!

message 350: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments With Amazon finally having removed the old, expensive ebook of A Cleansing of Souls, the way is now clear for me to upload the new, cheaper, revised and re-edited version (once I've done all the formatting stuff of course)!!!

I hope to have this done by Monday if my concentration holds over the weekend!
