Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Cheers Emma!!!!!!

I haven't been this happy since we last won the Ashes from those pesky Aussies!!! 100 sales might not be much in the big scheme of things but in less than a couple of weeks I've reached my yearly target!! No off to the pub with me!!!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Yay well done Stuart - have another kiss! X

message 71: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Yeah, having spent a year in Australia, they hate it when we beat them at anything!!! So chuffed for you x

message 72: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Thank you Gingerlily!! I have not had so many x's since my spelling tests at school!! And, yeah Emma, there is something about beating the Aussies that brings out the worst in me!!

The big test for Tollesbury Time Forever though is if Ignite likes it when she's finished it!

message 75: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments i have downloaded it too and, from reading the blurb, it has jumped to the top of my tbr...

message 76: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Wow! Thank you Kath - that's really kind of you!

message 77: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Cheers Karl!

message 78: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I'm reading it slowly - busy at the moment and Ma (aged 90) is in hospital - not looking good :( so my reading time is at a premium. Can't fault it though - it's wonderful so far!

message 79: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Thank you so much for your kind words and continuing support. My thoughts are with you with regard to your Ma.

message 80: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments i singled it out on the KUF "any gems in today's free books" thread too... :)

and also mentioned that i couldnt wait to start and am currently 7% through it reading in an ikle cloud window on my pc here at work... what the boss can't see etc etc :)

message 81: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Thank you Kath - you are indeed a gem yourself!!

message 82: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments it is so far removed from the genre of book i normally read, but for some reason i am drawn to it and i have learned to just go with feelings like that and not question them !!!

message 83: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments you wouldn't believe how many people have said that to me!! I guess it must have something then!! Keep going!!

message 84: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments 128 downloads in the first four hours! Now that's mad!

message 85: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Cheers Karl - if that is even the final total I will be more than satisfied!

message 86: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments This confirms what I keep saying about Indie books Stuart. Mainstream publishers need to be able to coax a book into a genre to market and sell it. Indies don't so their books often cross the boundaries of genre to the great benefit of readers. I usually find if I go to the bit on the author's page which asks for me to tick which tags I think a book fits, there are so many. Publishing houses would have you change that and we readers would be so much the poorer.

message 87: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments This is all so strange for me. I always thought the book to be more or less unreadable to anybody but me - some of the reviews and comments are just beginning to sink in. And just to think I sent stuff to ten agents and got two standard responses, to five publishers and got no response at all. Going it alone just felt so right.

message 88: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Sorry to hear about you mother Ignite, take care.
Glad to hear you promo is going well Stuart.

message 89: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Thank you - that's very kind of you.

message 90: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments This free download thing is great fun!

message 91: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments i got interrupted by my boss wanting me to actually do work !

not happy, i was enjoying losing myself in your wonderful descriptive prose...
which in itself is interesting cos i have issues with concentration which usually makes me run screaming from this sort of book! it is usually all i can do to hold on to the storyline when i read a book... it must be the way you write it :)
and i am really starting to empathise with Simon...

not long til home time...

message 92: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Wow - just went all tingly!! Thank you!! Simon is wonderful (as you will discover!) Not too sure what the REAL Simon Gregory will make of it! (yes - there's just over a thousand people in Tollesbury and one happens to be called Simon Gregory!)

message 93: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ah, back on your own thread again! Not that we mind but sometimes it's hard to remember where you are! Hoping to get back to Tollesbury again tomorrow.

message 94: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments It is all very confusing! Can't thank you enough for taking the time to read it. I really can't!

message 95: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments I know it's only the Free list, but number 7 in Literary Fiction here and number 39 in Literary Fiction in the USA is entirely unexpected!!!

message 96: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Weird! They're increasing in america and reducing over here - something to do with the time of day maybe! Currently stands at, in the first 8 hours:

227!

message 97: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Well pleased! Especially the american ones - must be the Beatles link!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Thats great, long may it continue!

message 99: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Thank you! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! (but then my memory is so bad, I wake up every day thinking it's going to be great!)

message 100: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments then everything is fresh and wonderful - it's the only way to be! Thank you oh brandy!
