message 804: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Thanks Sefano! I am really looking forward to writing it. Particularly as I have convinced my wife, Rebecca, that research demands I visit The Cavern Club in Liverpool!

message 805: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments That's not research -it's low cunning! Can't wait to read the book though.

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Just finished The Bird That Nobody Sees and Stuart you have done it again,I am almost(but not totally) speechless.
This speedy reader took her time and just submerged and drowned in the beauty of the narrative. The final 40% I read in the garden. Time and again I had to stop, soak in the words, relish the essence of the lines and truly appreciate not just the story but also the world and people around me.
You have a wonderous gift Stu and every time I read one of your books I feel as if you have let me share it and in so doing have given me a present and for that I thank you.

message 807: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments You are so kind - and I can't thank you enough. I guess it is a strange old world but it's beautiful too - I'm beginning to realise that, the older I get. So glad you liked The Bird That Nobody Sees - means the world to me. Cheers!

message 808: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments So the FRUGALITY Trilogy is now two books in - Tollesbury Time Forever being Book 1 and The Bird That Nobody Sees being Book 2. I am in the process of standardising the formatting for both books and changing the covers to reflect the fact that they are books in a trilogy. I am hoping all will complete by start of play tomorrow.

I have just begun writing the third book in the trilogy - I Woke Up This Morning.

To the toppermost of the poppermost people!

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments I have just put a review of Barnaby Rudge by Charles Dickens on my blog... http://tollesburytimeforever.blogspot...

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Just received the following two reviews from the same person on Amazon...

The Bird That Nobody Sees

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for me
Sorry to be the first to differ but I didn't enjoy this book, about a third of the way through I started skipping and just read the conversations so that I git the gist of what happened at the end.

I didn't like the angels concept and found too much detail and not enough story.

Tollesbury Time Forever

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for me, 22 Sep 2012
By
Mulled Red

I was disappointed with this book after the rave reviews that I had read on here, I can see that this is a well written book but I struggled to finish it.

The insight into the mind of the subject was interesting but I found it all a bit too weird.

I then saw that they gave Life of Pi 1 star and Fifty Shades of Grey 4 stars. Hurrah!

message 841: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Actually Stu, I didn't really enjoy the Life of Pi. However, I wouldn't take the word of anyone who would mull a red!

message 842: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Good point! I actually loved it. But as they say on Match of the Day - "It's all a game of opinions!"

He he, I was a bit sad till the end when I was finally relieved. :)
You know I am a great fan of yours so I might not to be objective but I must say that a lower review might be positive as many people are diffident of 5 stars only books.
To tell the truth, these two reviews are a bit strange, I don't understand how someone can read book 2 of a trilogy when he did not like the first one, if I don't like the genre of a book I don't blame the author.

S.

message 844: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments Thanks mate. Strange is good though. It certainly adds mystery to an already mysterious world!

message 845: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Well Stu, that person's opinion is certainly valid. Perhaps they would have enjoyed the more if you included more open discussion about sex toys.

Perhaps something for you to consider including in your current novel. ;)

message 846: by Stuart (new)

Stuart Ayris (stuayris) | 2614 comments I agree Patti - with the first bit anyway! II think it's great that people leave reviews and express their opinion - and long may they have the opportunity to do so.

Sex toys in I Woke Up This Morning? Who knows what the next Chapter will bring?? ; )

message 847: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Never too many sex toys, I reckon.

Stefano, I had the same thought yesterday when the writer of the book I'm currently reading announced he got a 1 star for book number two from the person who gave a 1 star to book number one ! If I don't like something I don't even finish it, let alone force myself to read the next one ! There's not enough time to read all the books I want to read, why waste it on something that never got me excited in the first place?

Stefano Lorraine - Lover of Jellybeans wrote: "Stefano, I had the same thought yesterday when the writer of the book I'm currently reading announced he got a 1 star..."

I don't even bother reviewing books I don't like. This might be a bad habit but if I already lost time reading a bad book I don't want think about it any more.

message 850: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments I don't either Stefano, I just put it down to taste and promptly and excitedly move on to the next. Mind you, not that I come through a lot of books I don't like...
