By reading Larry Correia lol !!!just take some time off and relax and don't focus on reading books. read stuff on the net, articles etc that interest you, keep things short. the book hunger will come back. i myself, near the end of the past year (couple of months) i was stuck on one book which i finished at the turn of the new year. now i'm into another book to start my new year. so maybe it's just a matter of stepping back, taking a breath and then go when you're good to go. i don't think there is any one trick but that's worked for me.
My suggestion is to pick a book that has really bad reviews and narrate as you read like they do in "Mystery Science Theatre 3000". You'll laugh and immediately want to read something better.
@Siraks - I have my copy of Monster Hunter Alpha but... ...though I wasn't as impressed with Hard Magic.
@Homeinmyshoes - That's a great idea! I might just have to try that, lol.

ahhhh not so much with Hard Magic? i thought it was pretty good and i loved the quotes at the beginning that were part of an alternate history.
amazingly ALPHA is sitting on my tablet waiting for me to get into it. MHI: LEGION was announced as well, haven't seen the release date for it but i plan on getting to alpha and spellbound (book 2 of the grimnoir chronicles)
Maybe you should go to alpha, they're exciting and you've enjoyed his writing..maybe you just need that 1 book to kick start your book parade!
I loved the alternative history...but I felt the "love story" was kinda crappy & there was a lot of deus ex machina going on by the end. The only person I was really into was the girl with the grey eyes...what was her name?
I'm also having a reading funk atm. I'm reading Stieg Larsson's The Girl Who Played With Fire and although I'm really liking it (much better than the first book which took ages to gather pace) I've only read a couple of pages each night since Monday. My attention seems to have shifted towards watching tv/dvd and playing with my tablet (or at least for the one day I had it).I'm not surprised, I would have thought I would get it a lot sooner after my reading frenzy last year. It'll pass until that time I'm keeping myself entertained with other things.

I can't seem to get started reading. I've picked up several books that I've put back down again.
I've only read 1 book and 1 short story all year! Soooo unlike me.
Anyone else have this problem? How do I get unstuck?
