The Allon series was written for YA complete with morals and spiritual lessons. This month, due to overwhelming request for parents, I've published the Parent Study Guide for Allon Books 1-4.

This study guide aids parent to teach their children the Biblical themes in ALLON Books 1 through 4. Each section begins with an overview of the major Biblical themes and principles covered in the book. The overview is followed by descriptions of how the main characters are used to convey the theme and principles, and ends with suggested questions pertaining to the story. Everything is tied to Scripture by quoted verses and/or references to the passage.

Karen God is doing amazing things through you Shawn. I home schooled for maybe 15 years until health problems and other things just overwhelm, but I would definitely wanted your stuffed if it had been out there then and I knew of it. No computers. such a different time.

Thanks, Karen. Yes, God is taking me in directions different than I imagined being an author. I never thought I would be 'teaching' my fiction.

I've also been asked to give a workshop at several homeschool fairs about using spiritual discernment in selecting fiction. At this rate, between mid-April & June I will be traveling across 4 states to attend 5 events.

Hi Shawn, I am a new author who was Spirit led to write my fiction novel Broken Pottery - just released. I know that book has both spiritual and educational aspects to it, especially for the YA who may not fully understand that government is not the answer to problems but rather God and how our country has turned from our God-given rights to the direction of government given-rights which is going to make us crash as a society. Now to my question. What five states are you going through? Where are these homeschool fairs and how did you find out about them? Any help is appreciated and good luck with the direction you have been led.

Joan

I originally said 4 states for 5 events, but one fell through so it's down to 3 states: Tennessee, Georgia & Ohio from mid-April through late July.

I used to homeschool so I knew about the one here in Nashville. I found out about the others from there and the connections I made. If you look up homeschool conventions and fairs in your state, you should find them.

In fact, my first event this year is the Midwest Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati,OH April 19-21. This is done with Great Homeschool Convention. They are a class act and well organized. Booth costs range from $150 to $500 depending upon size and location of the convention.

I did several blog posts about events in August 2011. One is called Event Planning tips: http://allonbooks-thekingdomofallon.b...

The other is Engaging At Events: http://allonbooks-thekingdomofallon.b...
