I'd say no. The book has been enhanced, but it's still essentially the same book.

Specifically, I have in mind the book Animal, by David Burnie.
There are three editions of it, and I'm wondering if they shouldn't be kept separate?
For example, the 3rd edition: Animal has been revised and updated with content that isn't in the 2nd edition: Animal. Is that not enough to warrant treating them as different books?
Is it too troublesome to go case-by-case with combining books like this? I am familiar with the "do combing" and "don't combine" rules but they don't really cover updated editions where they content differs, so I'd like to know what the current take on this is. Thanks =)
