I have seen that too. The publishers (Trad and Indie) 5 starring books.

Terri we have seen the same thing with cattle prices down here. It is a little better now that we have had some rain, but everyone has already sold so much stock. After the fires in NSW on the weekend it would appear we are in for a long summer.

The warmth and rain in Victoria are worrying. Am seeing a very bad bush fire season for us on the horizon.
We've had some bush fires up here too. Not big ones yet. Rural Fire seems to be getting the under control over a couple days.

Well here's hoping it doesn't amount to much, as far as fires go. Nobody wants to see that again. Fingers crossed for good rain in the north girls, and a temperate summer.
I don't know if Terri has seen this, but being in the cattle business and allhttp://www.weather.com/news/winter-st...
Up to 100K head of cattle died
For those history buffs amoung us
Great Blizzard of 1886 revisited?
Wow Happy! I had to double check for the date, thinking it may have been an older story. That's really sad. I feel badly for those affected!
They are still calculating the economic impact. I heard about it on NPR a few days ago and the digression the anti-bodice ripper thread reminded of it.

OMG. This is awful. I am nearly in tears. What an awful kick in the guts for the farmers and a sh#tty way to die for so many cattle.
Margaret wrote: "Okay. That saved. But one on a book didn't!"I had this blip too. I replied to Andy on my Bleeding Land review and it acted as though it wasn't saving and i clicked 'post' a couple times. When i refreshed the page it had posted the message a couple times.
I think it is working okay now though.

very talented guys. They have a great folk sound. At first i wasn't sure what the singing was going to be like. The acoustic intro sounded like Oasis! But then he started singing and it had that cool Bob Dylan folkie sound. I like it.

I was replying to Andy too! It must've been Andy's fault. LOL

Looks like we may have spoken too soon. Terrible events in NSW today. In Victoria we have had gale force winds, horizontal hail and rain. What a country this can be! My heart goes out to those who have lost everything. Will be keeping a close eye on the tv tonight, all of our family and friends live in three of the major affected areas. It's going to be a very long summer.

I have family in the path of the Wyong fire. All have been evacuated by police. Homes in the little township of Catherine Hill Bay have been destroyed. Now the fire is threatening another area where I have family.

Me too, Margaret. My thoughts are with you & yours.

170 firefighters and support aircraft on scene. Fire still raging out of control. :(Relief crews from Victoria going up today.
I spoke to mine this morning and last night and all were safe and well, thankfully. I wish you all the best Margaret. Bless the firefighters and Elivis!

Thanks Lisa. Have had contact with some family members. Everyone is accounted for. Those in the fire path were evacuated safely.
My thoughts with everyone affected. And glad to hear you guys think everyone you know is safe.I saw this morning one person lost his life defending his home against the bushfire.
I just wish people would evacuate and not try and defend their homes. :(

I don't think they had any choice at Catherine Hill Bay. There is only one road in/out. It is not really defendable. And as my relatives there are all quite elderly, I don't think the police gave them any choice.
Oh I haven't seen that. That's tragic! Another hot weekend, let's hope for no wind. As a note for all non Australians, sorry should have mentioned before. But Elvis is what they call the big fire fighting helicopter we rent from the states every summer.
Hi guys, this is completely unrelated (I hope that the fire situation is going to be solved asap with as little damage as possible), but have you heard of this channel?http://www.youtube.com/user/lindybeig...
He has great, interesting, and relevant insights. For example that it is quite silly do describe metallic sound when a sword is unsheathed (really frequent thing in HF books; video available here: http://youtu.be/yzbfuI0PMdA ). Also, I love his sense of humor :).
If anyone here is in the UK, Monday night on the Yesterday channel looks like a good programme and series.http://artdaily.com/news/65610/Mediev...
My brand new laptop has half died. I am so angry about it. You spend that much for a brand new laptop, you don't want to have to come up with another fistful of dollars to send the damn thing back to base and then have no computer for a few months while they sort it out.So if I am quieter than usual it is because I now only have my Tablet to use and it annoys me when it comes to doing a lot of typing. :-) (it's the keyboard on the screen..so annoying. I wish I had a manual keyboard for it).
That's sucks! I hope it's something minor *looks at own new laptop and gives a warning look that it better behave*
Woooo...Hoooo...Red Sox advance! Sorry...I'm a sucker for sports.
Good for the Red Sox. Jets beat the Pats in OT on a very strange flag against Pats. Steelers and Ravens: Try saying 'Rothlensberger' (sp) real fast ten times in a row.
Running a Factory Reset on laptop right now to see if it is the software. If it doesn t work properly after reset then it will be the hard drive and will have to go back.Checking warranty, it sounds like they send a courier around to pick it up at no cost to me. :-) That makes me feel better.
Good news!!! It worked. Doing the factory reset made everything work again. This better not happen again in a few months. I hate having to set up my computer all over again.
Donwloading all my programs all over again. Having to ring up my anti virus provider and get my license number again, changing settigns, deleting things I don't want. Argh.
Oh well, compared to the other option of having to send the laptop back to Acer and wait to get it back, redoing all my programs and settings is okay...as long as it doesn't need it again.
