So very glad you & Mrs Happy enjoyed the shows. You certainly earned that pleasure. I would have been one of those cars on the side of the road saying “ what is that ….. thinking”? 🤔😳

Well that was fun - I spent 5 days in the hospital at the end of October with Kidney failure. My mom used to say when she was sick, "I've got to get better to die!" I now know exactly what she meant. The first couple of days were awful.I'm doing much better now. The Drs. are not sure what caused it. I did have a severe case of pancreatitis before going to the hospital - maybe that had something to do with it. Mrs Happy kept asking me if I wanted to go to the Dr, and I kept saying no - it's just a virus. It took about 5 days for her to convince me. Bottom line - if your spouse asks "Do you want to go to the Doctor?" say yes and go!
Many more Drs. appointment to come!
Since I was unable to read for a couple of weeks, I don't know if I'll reach my GR goal of 70 books for the year - oh, well. As they say in Japan - Shigataganai (can't be hellped)
Sorry to hear about your health issues, happy, but glad you´re feeling better. Don´t worry about your goal when you have to care for yourself.

Goodness, Happy! Glad to hear you’re home and doing well.
Resting from your ordeal might result in lots of books being read! :)
Sorry for the illness but pleased you listened to yer wife & went to see a doctor & caught the diagnosis early enough, too many of us leave it too late. They'll be plenty of time for reading later, rest up & take care.
Thnx for all the good wishes - I'm doing much better now - still don't know what caused it. Have appointments with a couple of specialists (A Nephrologist and a Urologist) next month and we will see what we shall see. I back to walking 5-6 miles a day, so that is good for my DiabetesI want to wish all of my friends here who reside in the US - A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING
For those who don't have a very nice 24 November
Just an update - Visited the Nephrologist (Kidney Doc) and my kidney function is normal (thank goodness) A visit to Urologist that wasn't so good, but not so bad either. Appearently I have an streched out bladder and a bit of Old Man's Disease that might have caused the problems that put me in the hospital - more testing to follow.I am back to walking 5 to 7 miles a day, but I've changed up the routine a bit. I'll walk 2 to 3 miles in the morning and 4 to 5 in the evening ( time permitting ). Being retired is nice :)
I'm still plugging away on a couple of WW II books. My concentration still hasn't come all the way back, plus Christmas activities are taking up time. Speaking Christmas activities, Mrs Happy and I took our 3 Grandkids to the Utah Symphony's family Christmas Concert. We all had a ball! Even the youngest (6) was impressed, There is something about a full symphony that makes even the standard carols sound extra special. All the ushers and other support people were dressed up as elves (pointy ears and green and red clothing).
On a different note - I am really tired of shoveling snow. Since the middle of November, we must have had 30 inches of snow fall on my yard and probably 2 feet on the driveway. I would guess I've shoveled the driveway more in the last month than in the previous FOUR years combined :)
With all the snow we've had, I would guess a White Christmas is assured. There is still more than 6 inches on the lawn and the temps are not supposed to get much about freezing in the foreseeable future.
If I don't make it back before the big day - Merry Christmas to all of those who celebrate it and Happy Holidays to those who don't.
That is great about your kidneys, Happy! That must have taken a load off your shoulders.Merry Christmas to you as well!
WOW - that you walk 5 to 7 miles a day, and then all that exercise with shoveling snow, you are in far greater condition than I am, I must say! Nonetheless, glad to hear things are improving. The New Year holds great promise for you by the sounds of it!
Merry Christmas!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas & healthy New Year!!! And, may Santa bring you books from your TBR list!!!🎄📚🤶🏻

Congrats on the mostly good news, Happy!! Jeeeezusssss walking 7 miles a day. I walk a mile and a half to work and back and that seems like a trek from here to China to me. Good on you! And you’re doing it in the snow for Pete’s sake!
Happy holidays, all!If interested, here is a blog post about the historical and legendary aspects of Guinevere.

Merry Christmas to all. Our Christmas morning was rather low key this year - we didn't get up to after 8! (I am normally a very early riser, esp Christmas Morning ) The gifts have been unwrapped, breakfast eaten and now it is off to Church. After that is will just be a lazy day. My family does the big feast on Christmas Eve, so I don't even have to worry about cooking. (I'm the chief cook)Once again - Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and in general I hope you all have a very enjoyable Holiday Season
Hi :] remember me? I'm so sorry I've been missing for nearly all of the second half of 2022. I was putting in a last ditch effort to become a signed writer. I wasn't reading and I just couldn't be on a book site for a while.Happy new year to all. Hope 2023 is a good one for everyone. x
And to all of you who have kept enjoying our A&M community while I haven't been here to keep it active, thankyou l. xo
On the "When it rains it pours" departmentI broke my ankle yesterday. I was going for my morning walk and decided to get off of the sidewalk and into the street, because of ice patches. As I was walking down a drive way I slipped on a patch of ice and went down. I really thought I had done something to my knee, but I was able to get up and finish my walk (about 2 miles) and this morning I had a doctors appt any way and so I had him look at it. A couple of X-Rays later and I am now in a boot. The doc doesn't think it will need a cast, but walking is out for a couple of weeks.
Damn!!

She ended up needing surgery and spent THREE MONTHS in hospital.
ouchIf I haddn't already had a Dr Appt for today, I would have gone to an instacare yesterday. I dumb as I am, my thoughts were why make two trips :)
OMG, Happy. How distressing! Wishing you well soon!!My SIL thought it was a bad sprain, ended up in a boot for months. It may impact their scheduled trip to Italy next month.

I'm really, really, really tired of winter. I woke this morning to 12 inches of new snow on my front lawn. It took about 2-3 hours to get the driveway shoveled :(The nice thing about spring snow storms, however is that the snow melts fairly quickly. It is down to about six inches now.
It has been a really snow winter this year. The local news are report record snow pack. Of course the records only go back about 40 yrs, so take that for what its worth. There is more snow up there than the floods of the early 80s though. People are really worried about flooding.
So am I ! Unlike there, it hasn’t been snowing here. But there’s this weird gloomy, cloudy air and it’s quite cold. There are also rain storms sometimes. It’s literally impossible to see the sun and you can see everyone in a quite moody state.
Our snow came late in the season: late Feb & March. I get gnarly after 3 gray, gloomy days. Ready for a stretch of sunny days, if you please!!
We never got any here. I'm a transplanted northerner and I miss it. The grass is always greener on the other side!
Michelle wrote: "We never got any here. I'm a transplanted northerner and I miss it.
