Random Thoughts
Me too. And I have a private profile so I don't have to worry about randoms seeing number plates or personal details of where I live etc.. Being private just allows me to be myself a bit more.
Mine is private too. Unless I have had interaction with someone somewhere else, I don't let them into my life on FB. If I accept a friend request on there, I know the person, one way or another.
I'm the same. There's a lot of members of our group here that I've wanted to be fb friends with too... but I hate the idea of putting people in an situation where they don't want to be facie mates and know they'll offend me if they decline. So, I have been reluctant to to that step. For the record, so people know..
I've been fb mates with Dawn, Lisa, Ace, Margaret and Mark for many years. I recently became fb mates with Andy because I'd always been too shy to ask.
The pandemic made me realise, there's a lot of people in A&M that if something happened to you, like Covid, I'd never know. That was a sad feeling, so I started tipping my toe in the water of asking another couple people to be mates on FB who I felt wouldn't shut the door in my face. :-)

And you found me :)
I checked my settings and it was set already to “everyone can send a friend request” so maybe there are just way too many Allie Bee’s on there!
No worries on my end, Terri (or anyone else). I’m the same person online everywhere....although Goodreads is a bit classier so I swear much more on Facebook. Too funny!
I’ve been a member of our group here Facebook page for a few years now. Didn’t think many people would recognize me though because I’m not as active here (through no fault of the group’s - group reads were just harder to come by than best selling YA or contemporary books that my other groups read so therefore, less active. And I don’t have a personal picture here like I do on Facebook). I see Mark all the time on the Facebook group but didn’t want him to be all “who’s this?!” if I friended him. (If you’re reading this, hi mark lol.)
Fair warning...if you friend me on Facebook....I post A LOT of pictures of my niece and nephew. Like, a lot. People probably get sick of it!
And you’re absolutely right, Terri! If something happens to someone from our group, we may never know about it like we probably would from Facebook.

What a minute...that Andy is our Andy???
It's a shame FB doesn't have a 'leave a message' when you send a friend request like Goodreads has. All you can do is send a friend request and cross your fingers. I know some people like the anonymity on GR and like to keep their GR life seperate to their FB life. But I'm like Allie. I don't have anything to hide. The person I am here on GR, is the person on FB and in real life. I'm just a bit more sweary on FB. Anybody who I enjoy the company of on GR, I am going to enjoy the company of on FB.

If you're careful, Simona, it can be worthwhile.

Always makes me smile as it took me ages to work this one out as in UK we'd say 4th May is star wars day which makes no sense at all lols until you flip it around

Yeah you to have your USA calendar head switched on.😀😀
As a member who only dips in and out of GR, and FB for that matter, I'm not going to get on the front foot and hassle anyone but am happy to accept any friend requests that come from this group. If you can find me. When I do go on FB, I tend to do a lot of ranting about everything that annoys me...which some find charming.

May wrote: "Terri, I found your Friend Request!! We’re on!"I saw the notification this morning! Welcome! :-D
May wrote: "Just found it Margaret! Thank you. BTW - I have Book 2 on my shelf! Can’t wait!!"i hope you enjoy it. I have had a couple of people tell me that they think this one is better than the first. :D
Dawn wrote: "So, I just need to peruse Terri's FB friends to find you all??"haha. Yes, well, that might be the easiest way.
I can't send Laura a friend request yet, because we need a friend in common. I have a private profile too, so Laura may not be able to send me a friend request either.I can always change my settings briefly so anyone with a private profile can send me a friends request though.
Found Margaret, Andy, and Dawn on Facebook...they were staring me in the face when I logged in today as “people you may know”. So that was helpful!

You shouldn't have to be. For me, FB is where all the strands of my life come together. I am more "me" on there than anywhere else on social media.
