No truer words have been spoken. :DChocolate, icecream and cheesecake are not as good for the arteries as some fine, happy tunes.

Never one of my favourites, to be honest.

Have Sword and the Stone still on VHS too!! I wish I could find the animated Robin Hood at a garage sale. I picked up the Care Bears movie that way and my nephew loves it lol.
Sword in the Stone is my absolute favorite...I think I could quote it. LOVE Archimedes......and Baloo the Bear now that I think of it. Their animation was pure genius.

Bagheera and Sher Khan were my favourites in The Jungle Book.

Classic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ogQ0... but so many more to choose from, with the 2 cats as well
Oddly, I wasn't much into animated movies as a little kid. Still don't watch animation now. B&B is probably the only one I remember liking.I did used to watch the Disney movie on weekends. Saturday afternoon or Sunday arvo. can't recall.
As a little girl I used to love watching all the Shirley Temple movies when they came on. No matter how many times the repeated them I was there to watch them.
Goodness. The Little Rascals. I have a very vague memory of them. I googled them just now to jog my memory, but only found a recent remake.
This is really dating me, but I have a vague memory of them on TV :)In addition to the animated Disney, as a young boy I liked some of their live action movies :
the nature documentaries (mainly from the TV show)
The following I saw in a theater as a boy
Swiss Family Robinson
In Search of the Castaways (one of the very first movies I remember seeing at a theater)
Follow Me Boys ( saw this when my father was in Viet Nam, so maybe the Fred McMurray character hit home)
The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes
The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band
amoung many others :)
Even as a kid I never particularly liked Jerry Lewis movies

I don't think this reno of ours is ever going to end. Builder keeps dragging out the second bathroom. At least now he has finally finished lining all the walls and ceilings, which means the tiler can finally come and do his job.
9 months it has taken this builder to do two bathrooms renovations. Neither of which involved any structural work. Only taking down wall linings and old ceilings, putting new linings up and installing bath and showers.
All up, for two bathrooms, 7 days of work....that has taken him 9 months. I could have grown a baby in that amount of time. What an @$#$#@^ he is.
We've decided once he comes back after the tiler and finishes of (does fit out) we won't be geting him back to do final jobs around the house that he was supposed to do. He was supposed to replace all the doors in the house. 9 months to do two bathrooms, probably be next year before he bothers to do the doors. So we are going to try and do the doors ourselves (gulp).
Terri, I would curse too if I were put in your position! Can you withhold a portion of the payment as damages for delay?
That would give me the bad reputation and make him the victim to the onlooker, unfortunately. What I can do..and am doing..:) is dragging out the 'fit out'. My Tiler is most unimpressed by the way the builder has been treating us, so I told him not to feel any urgency to finish off the tiling. To just take his time. The longer he takes, the longer it will be before the builder can come in and do fit out and then invoice me to get paid.
I had the feeling the other day when the builder was here, that he suddenly wanted the job finished so he can invoice me and get paid. As my builder doesn't invoice you until he has finished that particular job. Sooooo, until he comes back after the tiler and finishes off ie installs shower screen he can't bill me and can't get paid.
It is a small bit of power, but it is the only power of any kind that I have had for 9 months. :) Makes me feel a bit better.
Tiler said he will drag the tiling out an extra week.
Random thought today: It's great to have things that are utterly reliable in life when others go haywire - when it feels like life is falling apart at the edges - books just never fail to keep me sane!!!
Thanks all. Definitely a better day. Climbed out from my pile of books and took the world on again :)
Renata wrote: "Thanks all. Definitely a better day. Climbed out from my pile of books and took the world on again :)"Glad to hear you're doing better. Sometimes you just have to barrel through the rough patches until you get to the other side.
I have been so out of it. First, we lost our wifi connection. The experts said we had a loose connection which we fixed. We thought. Then we were told the router was broken and need to be replaced. Not knowing much about these things my husband bought a new one but it was x@!/ because it was too weak. Finally, we got some good advice and he went out and got a really good super-duper router. Thank goodness for my Kindle which I had downloaded with several books to help keep my sanity. Then the credit card went on the fritz because we had requested a stop payment on one item and somehow it ended up stopping payment on ALL items! We're good now but I still feel a little shell-shocked. So...am I still a member of the group...?
Looks like it! Welcome back.I hear your pain with this internet thing. I was out for a while because of mega dramas with my Telco...which are not finished yet mind.
Thank God, all this heat has been terrible. I've been thoroughly enjoying the rain over that last couple days, seriously missed it.
There's a big earthquake in Mexico City - many dead. It's the biggest one since 1985. My heart goes out to the affected residents. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my GR friend is staying safe.

Winter just gone here. Now Spring. Our Winter was the hottest on record, nowhere near cold enough. Hardly call it a Winter. No rainfall from June to now. Which is unheard of. Most of the states of Queensland and New South Wales in drought.
Now we're heading into a hot Spring and Summer...very scary.
I know these weather patterns are happening all over the world. Times are a changing.
On the bright side, good weather for outside Barbeques! :-D
This year we've had a drier and shorter than normal summer in Vancouver. It's only mid-September and it already feels like Fall (normally the temperature gets cool in mid-October). Still, I have nothing to complain about.
Margaret wrote: "There's nothing like a bomb scare to bugger up your morning. :p"As a teen in Germany I sat through several, we had some kids that whenever they were tired of school, they would call one in. After the third one in about six weeks, we had Gen Patton himself (the WW II Gen Patton's son) literally read the whole school the riot act in some shall we say very colorful language. They found the kids responsible, sent them home and lo and behold the bomb threats stopped.
It was during the time period the Red Brigades/Bader-Meinhoff gang were bombing US military Installations, so they took the threats VERY seriously.

This is my second. First was a direct threat to our building. This one was a suspicious package outside the tram depot screwing up Melbourne's public transport heading toward morning peak.

That's terrible, Margaret! In 1967 Hong Kong, I was a teenager and there was a riot with bomb scares and curfews (the Red Guards of Mainland China were trying to stir up trouble for the British Hong Kong government). It was a tense year.
