Not like I could turn them off either. Had to know when Requests were there waiting for approval.

I hope it works better this time :)
FWIW, having spent a couple of yrs in Japan as a young man, I would like to see more Asia centric HF also.
For that matter, I would like to read more centered in the Holy Roman Empire and points east

Please, if anyone thinks I have not given a thread to an Asian era where there is enough books to justify it, let me know and I'll include it. I'd love to see a light shone on Asia centric HF. That can only be a positive thing.
This means India as well. The books don't have to be written by Westerners.

May, Ace, I've asked Jason on your behalf and he says the best way is for you to contact the sales representative at Penguin China direct. His name is Freddie Zhang and his email address is:

Anyone using initials for first & middle names is always ambiguous and I can never tell what sex they are.

Please try not to terrorise Terri. :D

We'll all be here when you get back waiting to hear how it went.

Friday I'm planning on walking to Southwark and environs.
Saturday I'm going to an exhibition at the Tate Britain.
Sunday I'm off to the Tower. :D

I can never remember how to pronounce Southwark. I had an ancestor come from there. I mentioned it to my Pommie tiler and he said it's pronounced Sow ork. Or something like that.

Southwark, confusingly, is pronouced Suth-ick. *grins* You can always tell the tourists, they pronounce it phonetically.

I thought, yeah, because the thick Aussie accent wouldn't give me away first.

I don't get taken for a tourist, which is great. The fun thing is when tourists stop me to ask for directions. :D
Another pronunciation giveaway is Holborn. It's pronounced Ho-bin. :D

Enjoy the Tate, Margaret. It's got a beautiful Waterhouse painting of The Lady of Shalott. And they used to have a room in the corner with Blake's watercolors. I haven't been there in years. I'm sure you'll love it.
Safe travels.

I'm so excited for you.
I haven't been able to take myself back to London since my mother died. There's so much of it I miss. But I just can't bring myself to go back there even though it's been over 15 years since her death.

I loved Millais' "Ophelia" painting! Arthur Rimbaud's poem "Ophelia" springs to mind.

Sorry Lia, that I missed your post. Looks like I was being rude.

yes, where have you being hiding :)"
I went to parallel universe. Took a while to find my way back. :D

Just turned the group Public again. Saves Margaret and I a bit of work as we no longer need to log in to accept joining requests.
(A Private Group means people have to ask to join. A Public Group means people can join without approval).
I went 'by request only' a few years back to have a bit more control over spammers.
Decided to risk it again.
Now we are public again, (unless GR has changed since we went Private) your two or three most recent comments in group will show up on your profile timeline.
This is not a group setting this is a Goodreads setting.
