I was suffering with arthritis in my right knee yesterday and it was difficult to get around, but it's a bit warmer outside and the arthritis isn't bothering me so much, despite the rain.
Morning all. Won't be around much today. It's our work's Christmas lunch. Leaving the office at 10.30am... gods know what time I will get home. :D
The wee wife and I don't get out to movies much....no time with my traveling but we did go see "Creed" last week at a theatre where they brought meals and wine to your seats!! Very cool....and the movie?? We both really liked it and the wee one is not the boxing fan I am, but this film isn't really about boxing. Check it out!! (an aside) It's better if you saw the first Rocky before viewing this one.

Yeah, must go to bed and read some more of my book! Oh, I hope I don't fall asleep after the first paragraph as per usual.
P.S. Friday night staff party was really the sort of fun we all love. We had it at our own premises with food ordered in. We had a prize for the best costume - neck up. So simple. Then we had games which were easy but fun. I had a wig with cat woman mask. One lady came as Miss Piggy which was really good. The winner was a Queen. Neferiti look alike.Problem was, we got a Maxi Taxi to get everyone home safely. Except when we go to our house I fell getting out of the cab. I misjudged the height of the cab in the dark (no, I was not drunk). I ended up on my bum. How I have a support brace on my right knee and by doctors orders, I am supposed to be on crutches which I didn't get as I couldn't think of anything more uncomfortable.
Problem solved, my darling husband turned one of his golf clubs upside down and said "use this". I hate to admit it, but a golf club is the perfect walking stick. I believe he selected the sand wedge (I know nothing about golf) but this stick was the perfect height and the "wedge" fit my hand perfectly. The handle was w rapped in a way that does no damage to our timber floor. I will never get a walking stick. This iron also works as a weapon!
Last College Football game of the year for me as I head to San Diego for the ever popular (?) Poinsettia Bowl!!! Back home on the 23rd and then its off to Costa Rica until the 6th!! Color me out of here!! Merry Christmas all!!

Woke last Tuesday to 12C, this morning it's 21C. Hmmm. Isn't it supposed to get cooler? Happy Winter Solstice all!!
Lariela wrote: "Happy Winter Solstice! I made almond crescent cookies. And had some nice holiday teas."
We did white chocolate macadamia nut cookies as well as chocolate/butterscotch chip cookies. We're loaded up for the winter break :D
I finally got all the caramels made ( I'm the chief candy maker, and they are the neighborhood gifts )- so, I guess I'm just about ready for the big day Friday :)
Quick pop in from me too, to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!And if you don't celebrate Christmas then happy holidays to you!!
:-D
The Caramels are delivered, it finally stopped snowing and I think all is ready for Christmas morning. To all those who celebrate it, Merry Christmas. To those who don't, Happy Holidays and to all have a Wonderful New Year!
Merry Christmas! Happy Thursday! The weekend's almost here! Happy Holidays! I bought a bottle of wine with a picture of Santa and his reindeer on it back in August. I'm pulling the cork out and having a go at it tonight while the girls are watching the Santa Tracker.
Can I wish everyone in the group a Happy Christmas and a successful New Year. My apologies for this being a bit late, but my internet connection has been up and down a bit, courtesy of some seriously nasty weather.
Got Loaded up on some signed Terry Pratchett books so I'm happy! Would have been all good regardless but Terry makes me smile for sure. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all who celebrate!
We each got one: James Aitcheson's KNIGHT OF THE HAWK (I think... Book 3 of the trilogy)& I received C.J. Sansom's DISSOLUTION, with recommendations to read the series. I'm looking forward to both!!
I'll second the recomendation on Sansom's Shardlake series - excellent read and some decent mysteries along the way :)
