I'm with you, Jane... all online shopping, esp for Christmas! Can't bear the crowds.

I just fell a little bit in love with your granddad, he sounds so sweet!
I've been collecting Christmas presents for my 3 year old nephew for about 6 months now so I have quite the hoard. Bought for sister (and myself, hee hee) online. What to get my parents.... ugh, I dunno.
I don't have any eye problems, Gretchen and its driving me crazy. It does look blurry and I feel a headache coming on and I just logged onto GR mere minutes ago :/ Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy do they change things that don't need "fixin"?!

Techies! They always have to keep changing things.

I did read them and I changed my font size to 175% ever since I got this compute.r

you're probably right. someone sure cheated them.

Because they can! Meh!

It's almost enough to make me reconsider spending $400 or $500 for a snow blower that I would use said every three or four yrs:D
I think a White Christmas is assured now

Maybe they are looking for something to do during quiet times?

A White Xmas, what is that? Lol. Living in Queensland Australia, one just hopes for an overcast day just to have a little comfort in the heat. Xmas Lunch is lots of fresh Salads and cold seafood like prawns and mud crab, cold beer or white wine or lemonade and a dip in the swimming pool. To roast food would be like a slow death from heat exhaustion.
I haven't even had the pleasure of seeing snow. Golf ball size hail is about it.

Yes i agree thats snow. Very winterish Happy.

Most of my grand children are over 10yrs old so I give them money in a card. The kids love it because they save up birthday & Xmas money to buy the sort of things they love, like skate boards or specific video games. Those under 10 get presents. Yes, I hate crowds too and shop on line mostly.

Oh that is so pretty. Picture card perfect. Most Xmas cards have snow and it seems so silly to us Aussies.

very pretty, where is that, Happy?

I hate ice storms, I'd much rather have 2 feet of nice powdery snow!
Luckily we don't get ice storms very often.

It's snowing now. It looks nice until you actually get outside and realize the snow is covering a solid sheet of ice. I have a feeling we will be staying indoors tomorrow if this keeps up.

I remember as a kid (1968) when were living in Oklahoma, we had an ice storm that laid down about 2 inches of ice, then the snow storm put a foot of snow on top of that. They actually closed Ft. Sill. It's the only time I ever saw the base closed.
My siblings and I were rough housing inside and my sister broke her hand by jumping up and touching the ceiling where the enterence hall came into the living room. When my parents took her to the hospital the ER staff just assumed she had fallen on the ice. They got a good laugh when she told them no, she had hit the ceiling. Appearently she was the only person in the ER that hadn't fallen on the ice :)

I love snow at Christmas. Happy, you live in a really magic place.

I am thanking every deity I can think of for the wonderous invention of air conditioning!

We are having the warmest December I can remember, in my 20 years in this part of France. Still walking in a T-shirt and even had Sunday lunch outside! Crazy really... I think we need a bit of crisp cold actually. It's not normal.

I wish i could go see the new Star Wars movie in the theater but i've had to stop going to the movies entirely. The extra loud sound track and bright, flickering lights always trigger a massive migraine. I just wait for a little bit and then watch the movies I want at a friends house. They have a media room with a large screen (super large) adn we can control the volume and set low level lights at floor level. Doing this means i can eventually see the movies adn not get a migraine.
