That was pun-ny. I sent a set of the 50 Shades books to a friend of mine while she was deployed over in Kuwait. I thought it would give her and the five other women deployed with her something to do for giggles. I think Mr. Gretchen took that as a sign that I needed to own the books. He knows now that he's never allowed to buy me books or small appliances.

Appalling is spot on!"
I didn't want it influencing Good Reads recommendations. They come up with some weird stuff without that particular piece of input. :p

Good idea, Ace.
Tuck it away as winter fuel, Gretchen.

When I come across the books again, I might see if the library wants them. I imagine they already have them. They were probably the three books even the smallest library was forced to buy due to popularity.

Same. Plus I couldn't find the zero stars button!

Yeah. Good Reads really needs the ability to give negative ratings.

Tim, I feel the same as your wife. I also include cut flowers in that category.

So i should just stick to practical presents like hoovers and saucepans, right?
Maybe after investing in a steel helmet for myself....

You could use one of the saucepans as a helmet ;)

And please everybody, feel free to send me any jewel or cut flower that your spouses may disdain...I appreciate them very much!

Wow, beautiful boat, would prefer a warmer location if I must camp out on the deck! Poor vikings, they did do it tough. They would have aced the Volvo Ocean race.

I don't know if they can be any more spoiled than they already are.

I'm from the Renaissance Era with a big fat picture of Elizabeth I. Not really surprised.

Me too. Funny that. I would be closer to a Bohemian I think - nothing like Liz 1.

We've had some interesting weather in my part of the world this last week, and two friends have suffered in Kendal's worst floods for 100+ years. I wonder if they will let me try some da Vinci style murals - whenever they manage to dry out and start re-decorating.

I bet it was the hairsyle question that decided THAT one... would have pegged myself for Ancient Chinese.

You're a striking individualist: you have your own view of life and you are not afraid to counterpose it against public opinion. You don't accept half-measures when expressing your feelings. If you rejoice, then you do it with all your heart; when you cry you sob violently. Your hospitality knows no bounds. Like a true Greek, you adore noisy feasts where wine flows like water. It's a pity you weren't born somewhere in Athens a couple of thousand years ago. You were meant for that place.
*falls over laughing* I hate noisy parties. They're my idea of Hell. Also, I very rarely drink. Who comes up with these things?

I thought I had, but then remembered I still need to buy for my grandparents.

What do you get a man who is nearly 100? Mince. :D
He feeds the Magpies and Butcher Birds in his backyard and he was complaining that they had brought their babies and he was using more meat than usual. So I am going to buy him a few kilos of mince to feed his birds. lol.
