Thank goodness I carry my Kindle with me everywhere.

My thoughts are with you and your brother, Marina, and every other innocent over there for that matter. I can't even begin to imagine how bad it must suck.

Stay safe Marina! All you sport peoples. I'm looking for a you tube clip from an old soccer game. I though it was England and Germany, but not sure. Pretty sure the antagonist was German. He gives the biggest king hit I've seen in soccer to this poor bugger,it's huge. Any ideas Andy!?!
I was in Brisbane overnight this week Terri! You can't possibly call that winter!!! Good lord it was t-shirt weather. Even the poor kiwis were in shorts and shirts!

Thank you - that makes sense! I just found Terri's post-it on how-to and deleted my message before I got told off :)
Re football ... and is anyone watching the Tour de France? Every time I settle down to watch, someone falls off his bike :((view spoiler)

Thanks Jean, goodness I've not seen that one! That's funny. No this is quite a bit older, and the player seems to run along way just to deliver this punch, from memory. This bloke looks like he is out for the count before he hits the ground.

Its always the way when they hit the cobblestones, they resurrected the stage a coupla years back & its carnage even on a dry day, let alone when its pishing doon! Addicted to Le Tour & have to get my Eurosport fix especially when they do the mountain stages - on another story thou, every advert break they're advertising holidays in Israel.... the land of creation :( kinda of perverse seeing as whats occuring currently.
Added - And jus so thats not misconstrued in anyways, I was roling eyes at the poor decision of advertisers considering the ongoign events in the region.
Hey, has anyone ever contributed to one of those kickstarter (example: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/... ) projects?? It looks like an interesting idea and I spy a project that I like....
I have, but it was for my internet-kid, and I think it was a different site indiegogo? no matter. I haven't for a project where I didn't know anyone. Having said that, there are some interesting things that have come from those sites.
I've donated to a few women authored sci fi projects in the past, but nothing above $25. Usually that means I get a "free" book or copy of the writing, sometimes a t-shirt. Cool way of supporting indie projects and getting to see the end result.
The one I'm looking at is on a different site, Its Art. I'd get the book at minimum http://www.itsartmag.com/features/pro...I just happen to like the artist and this will be the only way to obtain a book. But I haven't tried it before so was curious.

Meanwhile up here we were dropping to -2 and some rural areas not far from us dropping to -15.
Brisbane didn't even get below 0. :)

I wish you could share some of your cold with us here, just maybe take 10 degrees with ya, or even 5? You could be warmer and I could actually poke my nose out of an air-conditioned building.
I don't even want to think about winter. I am pleasantly sunburned right now. The bugs have disappeared (for the moment). It's that point in Minnesota summer where the next two weeks are going to be the most perfect weather we get all year. I haven't had to run my ac in three days but my girls still get to spend half the day in their swimsuits, hanging poolside (like by a tiny plastic pool).
No thanks, Alicja. :} I like the cold. So I'll keep it, every degree of it, and you continue to swelter. *skips in a circle and giggles*
Here's a conversion for those wondering what our Clsius is in Fahrenheit. There is a cheat sheet table below the conversion calculator.
According to that. Our -15 is your 5.

A little historical fact, Daniel Fahrenheit's experiments with thermometers led to the development of the Fahrenheit scale, the first accurate way of measuring temperature in the world.
And...
He was born and lived in Gdansk. His house is a museum, and the hospital where I was born is only about a 30 minute walk from that house (or less if you've got a fast stride). :D
Darcy wrote: ".Terri's World Cup spoiler(view spoiler) ."
Darcy's World Cup spoiler about the Dutch.
(this bit not a spoiler anymore. :)..)
Yep. We definitely weren't saying that over here. I specifically remember our Aussie commentators during the Dutch/Aussie game, going on about how tough the game would be, because the Dutch had so many talented players and had been playing so well in pre World Cup games, and that they are considered good enough to go nearly all the way.
It was believed that it would still be tough for the Dutch to beat us because we play a similar game and we are always well matched with the Dutch.
Sorry Alicja, but I love the cold. I dread summer every year! Well it was certainly balmy Terri, and not what I was expecting. Now I am perfectly cold and horribly tired so early night! Off to a one year olds party tomorrow and a long drive to get there. Night all!
Question for our mods (no hurry).GR keeps adding a couple of persons to my "friends" list saying that we are friends on Facebook.
Since I'm not on Facebook, how can I stop this?
I've no idea Simona. I don't have FB either, but I don't get the messages from GR so I'm not sure. Maybe see if there's something in your settings?
Bah! Go figure. It wouldn't be annoying if these weren't teenagers reading about sparkling vampires, kinsella books and 50 shades of red, grey and all the colors of the rainbow.
(yes, I'm old and grumpy! and I didn't add the link of kinsella on purpose! :( )
thanks anyway, darcy.
Is your GR account linked to any kind of FB account. The only time I ever got that was when I had mine linked. Once I unlinked, they disappeared.
And I know there was somewhere that let you decide if you wanted your FB friends to be automatically added.
None of it makes sense seeing as you don't have a FB account though....
No FB, no Twitter, no social networks at all. I'm paranoid that way :)thanks Dawn, I'll scroll the settings on my profile
Got it! It's in My Account > Apps.No more Twilight for me! Yay!
(Yes, I didn't add this link on purpose, either) :)
I have to "tinker" with my profile settings on here ALL THE TIME and it still doesn't turn out right! :/
Know that feeling :D Hit or miss arent they, trouble is as soon as yer start to "mess with it" thats it...... GAME OVER!
After having fought with the profile and privacy settings on FB for so many years, these ones are much easier. :)
Andy wrote: "Made up for you Simona :) I dread having to "tinker" with My profile settings on ere"Good. I feel a tiny bit less impaired :)
I never did link FB account with this one, feeling something stupid would happen. BTW, I look at FB only a couple of times a month anyhow any more.
I have three little blonde minions for sale. Ugh! My husband cannot get home fast enough! Am I terrible wife if I run away for the day on his birthday? I made him supper and a cake. Happy Friday!
Jane wrote: "I never did link FB account with this one, feeling something stupid would happen. BTW, I look at FB only a couple of times a month anyhow any more."I still end up on FB at least once a day. Though I agree about something stupid might happen, anything is possible with FB!
