Think hes settled in at Irish some, quite a family orientated club & am sure a few of the forwards will be keeping him in check :) be a shame if he does go to waste as he sures got talent

Ha! jus caught the Bawth craic :) I defo dont move in those circles, more a Baff man meself.

So Ulster then.... dinny watch the game as was fixated by the Quinns/tigers clash but caught the result which maybe smacks of a case of the Ulstermen falling over the line for the play-offs.....? esp as Munster & ospreys have changes at 5pt wins this w/end & maybe reckon the qf ko hangover has finally caught up with yous?

Unfortunately SKY Italy has been disappointing in its rugby offerings this year no more Premiership opting for the french league instead. There is only one S15 game a week and the decent Currie cup games I've had to watch in streaming. I have been put off of rugby of late given the increasingly poor performance of Italy in International tests when we were making such good progress (one step forward...two steps back). Then there is the increasingly poor performance of Treviso in Rabo12 (which thanks to political infighting probably won't even play next year).
I agree with the comments regarding O'conner, brilliant player if he wasn't such a d**khead.
I am a Boks fan but I too hope the Wallabies come out of their slump, I miss the old team with Mortlock, Gregan, Elsom, Tuqiri, Sharpe, Smith, Larkham et al. Luckily Sky hasn't removed the tri-nations but unfortunately kiwi thrashings are a rarity these days.
As far as hockey goes...Go STARS!!!!
I agree with Andy basketball sucks.......lol (no offense Carlos)

I think it happens when players are inducted into the big leagues too young. O'connor was only 18 wasn't he, it happens a lot in soccer too 18-19 year-old primadonnas that coaches are too afraid to bench....look at Balotelli for instance.

25 for me as well. I especially relate to the one about being super tired from staying up too late to read another chapter....and then another. Books frequently cause me to lead a sleep deprived life. :)

happy (happyone) | 2782 comments The wife and I went to the symphony last night. One of the pieces they performed was Pacalbel's Canon. Three or four rows in front of us a 6 or 7 yr old girl and her mother were sitting, quitely for the first 2 pieces. When the symphony started playing the Canon, the youngl lady was up and dancing, quitely and not bothering anybody. for me, tt was definately the highlight of the season. At the intermission I made a point of telling her and her mother how much I enjoyed her recital. I got the impression the mothere was slightly embarrased by her performance and they didn't stay for the second half.

The second half was Mahler's 5th symphony - the difference in the number of musicans between the two was striking, maybe 20 for the Pacalbel and I think every musician associated with the symphone for the Mahler.

Both were excellent

They all get blooded that young I the footy codes though. Some years you get a run of brats. It happens in the cricket and soccer too.
Right now in the Aussie camp the problem children are O'Connor and Quade Cooper. Grrrr..Cooper...grrr. I have no love for him.

message 8019: by Sceadugenga (new)

Sceadugenga I'd forgotten about Cooper, for some reason he always seems to be at his best when playing in Italy, unfortunately for the Azzurri he was on his game when I went to see the test in Turin last fall (we did have a brilliant start but then as usual...) I'm not so up to date on Quade but a lot of Aussies hate him, why is that?

Nice clip, that was before I got turned on to rugby...but it's always nice to see the AB's taken down a notch.

On that note....this has absolutely nothing to do with anything as I can't stand either team but this tackle of that arrogant Chris Masoe will always be etched in my memory.

Andy | 1511 comments Brilliant kick for a lock! he was some player AND captian.

Nice Hit!

& I think being born in Auckland but playing for Aussie says it all about Quade Cooper gettign the bird?

As for the book quiz - i laughed at the "always carry a book with you - Jus in case" - YEP, always 1 in the rucksack on me travels AND 2 if im down to the last 50pgs :)

Aussies hate him for a couple reasons..one, he's arrogant, cocky, sulks too much and has an attitude, another reason we hate him is for some reason the selectors kept putting him in the side. He was a favourite of a few and that was enough to get him a test cap even though he was playing sh#t. Same thing happens with O'Connor.
A power shift meant that just 'being Quade Cooper' was not enough to get him a spot in the Wallabies and he has to fight to get into the squad now.
We also hate that he drops the ball all the time and has complete brain farts and buggers things up.

Basically, if you think you are a star and you act like you are God's gift, Aussies won't like you. Therefore...we don't like O'Connor and Cooper. We like ourstars to be grounded and humble.

hahaha! Yeah. That certainly doesn't help Quade's cause. :D

p.s thanks for the shout out to Ealse as a player and a Captain. He is a footy hero over here. We love our Ealsie.

Terri | 19576 comments We have the French coming in June. Three matches I think. I don't get into watching the French play us. My favourite foe is the 'Boks. Love watchingthe Wallabies take on the Boks. We are usually fairly well matched. Especially in the ruck and maul.

message 8025: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments Actually, here is the perfect example of why we don't like Cooper. :D
I was looking for an example of his stuff ups against the Lions...I found a reel of his balls up against EVERYONE!!

message 8026: by Andy (new)

Andy | 1511 comments :D Forgot to mention the Kiwis hate him even more!

Everyone hates a turncoat, history will tell yer that Quade - tbh at times he looks like a fellah that knows he's made a few (no make that....ALL) the wrong decisions & is starting to fragment around the edges.... best he heads up to the NH & has a spell in France then.

Guess what.... i jus about turn the corner with me manflu & after days of glorious harmful gamma-rays tis pishing it doon today :( back to the book then.

message 8027: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments The commentators say it all in the last shot in that You Tube vid. They mention that the crowd is reminding Quade of why he is public enemy number one. I'm just glad the selectors have finally understood why we hate him.

I think he is going to become a professional boxer. Or maybehe already thinks he is. He's had a couple pro fights and won them I think. Boxes as the support act for Sonny Bill Williams. Lol

It's beautiful! I'm just a little confused, because the post says that the wallpaper has been imported from China. I seem to remember that this kind of wallpaper was (and still is)called chinoiserie for the theme, but was usually made in Europe. Very expensive, but from Europe.
