Lisa | 728 comments Thanks everyone, much appreciated. I got a customer service position at the aussie tax office. I actually worked there when I first got out of school, so I think I've come full circle, haha. I'm just happy to have something reliable. :)))

Joining the ranks of Gov't beaurocrats - welcome to the club:)

message 7016: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 728 comments Yes I know, nothing is certain, except............lol. It doesn't get much more beauracratic I think, than the public service. I'm not officially a public servant, but a contractor, of sorts. At least there is no cold calling, I think it would be a pretty hard sell, haha.

message 7017: by Andy (new)

Andy | 1511 comments Ohhh a civil servant Humppphh, We had such high hopes for you n all LOL well done Lisa, made up for yous.

message 7018: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 728 comments Hahaha Andy,,I know, me too, lol. They tell me there is a play station room, to destress. I couldn't give a toss about the ps3, as long as there is coffee, haha.

message 7019: by Andy (new)

Andy | 1511 comments ps3 to DESTRESS!!!! double ######!!!! The poor little darlings LOL

keep bouncing :)

message 7020: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 728 comments Bahahaha. Yes I do believe there was quite a bit of eye rolling in the house when I mentioned this. I wonder if there is a reading room, aaaahhhhh, how cool would that be. I did mention in the interview how I like choccy, coffee and books in my jimjams. And that Fridays should officially be declared jimjam day, or bring your dog to work day. I think that must have sealed it for me, hahahaha .

message 7021: by Andy (new)

Andy | 1511 comments Yep think yer nailed their "work ethic" in the interview, fit right in - a given as one would say, prolly building a library as we speak, ready for yous when you start - they "might" even hire someone to READ stories to YOU! can't be having you stressed out collecting all them hard earned Dollars now! :)

message 7022: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 728 comments Oh I hope not. I don't do audio, hahahaha . Just a quiet corner on something soft will suffice. :))))

Now please let me know where I can send my invoice for "Authentic Italian Positive Ions, guaranteed". As you can see they are very effective.. ;)

message 7027: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) Yeah for Lisa. The world most defintiely needs more civil servants, we are vastly outnumbered!! :)

Buawahahahahahaha. I work for an accountant. We may end up talking to each other without knowing it.

message 7029: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 728 comments Hahaha, thanks everyone. My husband tells me as a public servant I should have lots more time to read, lol. Not true , not true. Simona, I wonder if we could make it a deduction, haha. Thanks again :)))

message 7030: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 728 comments How funny would that be Margaret! It is a national call centre, so it's not unlikely. I'm so nervous now, it's all I think about, haha.

And happy book day to you Gretchen. :))

Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 657 comments Congrats Lisa!

And am glad things are getting better Terri!

I've been working, busy, stressed so much that I didn't have time to chat here. And then I got sick and am just now recovered enough to have a coherent thought it my head (I dove into mystery romances while sick, needed something not too hard on my poor, overheated brain). Anyhoo, I hope to be back here and chattin' with you all on a more regular basis again. I miss ya! And I hate being out of the gossip loop. :P

message 7040: by Lisa (new)

I just love unusual English names - the guest conductor for our local symphony the last couple of weeks has been a gentleman by the name of

Mark Wigglesworth

He did an excellent job - the symphony was wonderful

message 7044: by [deleted user] (new)

So... just for conversations sake, what would you vote as your worst movie ever? My vote is Twister. I just tried watching that movie for the first time. Not only is the acting pathetic, it's insulting to stormchasers, and it's insulting to the state of Oklahoma. We don't all talk like that;) So, what's the worst movie ever?

message 7045: by happy (new)

happy (happyone) | 2782 comments Of ones I've seen in a Theater - The one with Laurence Oliver as MacAurthur - Inchon? it dates from the '80s

I can't remember if it was "eyes wide shut" or "vanilla sky" (both Tom Cruise movies that didn't make sense), I'm 80% sure it was the eye one but anyway, after the movie ended, there was complete silence in the theater. Until one guy said "what the f*ck????" and everyone cracked up! THAT was the best part of the night. Movie was terrible.

message 7047: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 728 comments Hahaha my husband swears it's Nicole Kidmans Australia!! In the first 5 minutes I heard this big sigh come from him, and just knew it wasn't going to be fun. The opening scene of kangaroos running along side the car, elicited such an eye roll from Chris I thought he'd passed out, lol. He hated it and the moment it ended swore it's was 3 hours of his life he'd never get back and wanted a refund, haha. I must say I thought it was pretty ordinary. Oh I've just been given a suggestion of Sharknadoe??? WTF, lol.

message 7048: by happy (new)
