That sounds wonderful, Andy! I hope you enjoyed it!
I can't wait to see the Hippodrome, the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and more!
Lately, ive read a few books on Turkish history ;)
Hiba wrote: I can't wait to see the Hippodrome, the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and more!"Hiba, very exciting! If you have a chance while you are in Istanbul you should also visit the Chora Church, out by the old Byzantine city walls - it's amazing too. I got to visit Hagia Sophia on my birthday a few years ago, which was an extremely good present.

I'll definitely put that on my to-see list. Thank you for the recommendation! I'm glad that you had a wonderful time visiting Turkey.
Gosh, I'd like access to the celestial wheelbarrow so I could load up the foot of snow over 1/2 inch of ice my area is expecting over the next 36 hours and send it to Terri to break that drought.
Could have sent the 2" of rain we got here in the desert yesterday. Flooding widespread. Hope Terri is ok.
Allie wrote: "It snowed here in Michigan yesterday, not much tho. But its super chilly! -12 degrees."I won't even mention that its in the 70's here....ohhhh, I just did!!
Bobby wrote: "Could have sent the 2" of rain we got here in the desert yesterday. Flooding widespread. Hope Terri is ok."I'm thinking of her. Has anybody (good) news? If positive thinking has a weight, we -all our group- have to count for something. Hold on, Terri.

Lol! That's alright. You can keep your 70 degree weather. I freaking love the cold!
Have been approached by an indie author of weird west stories asking if I'd review his latest novella. First time something like this has happened to me. I've said yes... I've read some good steampunk westerns.
It's gorgeous here, -1 (30F) and snowing. We can't see more than a block away and everything is beautiful and white. Of course, tomorrow I won't think it's so wonderful as I drive to work!!

It is. I was surprised and, I have to admit, somewhat flattered to be asked, as if my opinion meant something to someone.
The temp has dropped to 55°F within 2 hours. Margaret, I got an email stating I had won a large sum of money. I was to click and recieve, husband stopped me fromm doing that. Husband believes he will one day win Publishers' House thing. I thought my chancce of getting money through email were better than PCH rep ringing the doorbell.lol
What I like is the way our yard looks after the snow has stopped and the sun is making blue-ish yellow shadows from the trees on the fresh snow. Where we live, the light begins to take on a touch of yellow after the First of the Year. The best way I can describe the color of the light on the snow is to say that it looks like the colors in my Avi of my cat, Zephyr -- buff and blue and warm in the cold. The shadows begin to take on a pale periwinkle tinge late in the day. O, ain't I po-et-ical ;-)

Please keep us on the loop Terri, I am very, very sorry this is happening and I hope the best for your family. I think Australia is just that way: It gives and It takes plenty, no in between.
Praying for rain to the old Gods We are here at home.
So sorry I live in Sinaloa, Mexico. We are in the world news for all the wrong reasons. It is time to keep our head down and keep on reading.
That novella was pretty disgusting. Only managed about 14 pages before I trashed it. I couldn't continue to read it. Have deleted the file, contacted the author and told him I wouldn't be reviewing it and why...and blocked him.
We are experiencing a series of storms (one every 2 or 3 days for the last week and forcast thru next Thursday)IMO perfect late winter storms - snow in the mountains - rain in the valleys. Temps 55-60 F (12-15 C) during the day and 40-45 F (7-4 C) at night
The main SLC area ski resorts are finally over 100 inches.
As an aside - in this weather, when I take my white dog for his walk, I come back with a black one from the shoulders down :)

Dang! I sure was looking forward to your review of that one.

Darcy wrote: "Baseball on the news. C'mon summer!"Ewwww. Noooo. Summer is the worst time of the year.
Side note: I've been to exactly one (pro) baseball game and that was enough. I LITERALLY thought I was going to die. From boredom. Just keel right over. At least that would have been something to do.
Darcy wrote: "I'm not a fan of the baseball either, but I'm one of those weirdos who likes very hot summers :)"Very hot??? You are a weirdo. J/K but you are lol
Here go the sports bashers again. ;) Actually, I agree. Baseball is one of my least favorite sports to watch. I'm all for warmer temps & less ice, though.
I do like the football. I'm all kitted for the World Cup. :) And yup Allie, I'm a total weirdo: love hot summers; don't like chocolate, coffee or flowers; don't have a mobile phone or a microwave. :)
I hate baseball too it's way to slow. Also I as a New Yorker dodged a bullet made of snow today it was supposed to hit hard but it missed. Istanbul sounds cool as well
Don't like chocolate? What is this crazy talk I'm hearing?????????? I agree on the flowers though, which is super weird to other girls. If a dude bought me flowers I'd be like "what am I supposed to do with these droopy things? We are so done, because you obviously dont know me at all". I'd rather have hockey tickets :)
Darcy, Darcy, Darcy!! I hate summer! lurv winter! lurv cold. Now coffee and chocolate, really??? No one I know talks to me until I have had at least 2 coffees, and they also know the only way to appease me is with chocolate. In a post apocalypse world, I would head to Tasmania, and not for the clear air, but because that's where the Cadbury factory is, haha.

To quote one of my all time favorite movies, Casablanca: "Lisa, I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship" :P me LOVE winter and chocolate.

I agree with the late Sir George Bernard Shaw on the subject of flowers. "I like flowers. I also like children, but I do not cut their heads off and keep them in bowls around my house."
Ah Allie, I will save a spot for you. Plus tassie is nice and cold, yay. Margaret I don't mind children just not near me, haha.
I have to agree with the lack of floral love here. I like flowers well enough outside, existing in nature. Don't bring them in my house where they will die and make a mess. I have three little girls who make enough of a mess. You can buy a new book ( or a few used ones ) for the price of a dozen roses.

No microwave!!!? How the hell do you survive without one of those? I wouldn't know. :)
