Are you kidding me? This guy has just gone through and copied the books off our A&M list. Book by book with only a couple that aren't on our list.
The only real difference is he has added more than #1 in a series (our list only has #1 in a series).
Weird.

Terri | 19576 comments Did anybody watch the Grammys the other day?

Some terrific performances. I am still buzzing from the Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard performance.
Awesome to see Nelson and Kristofferson doing some of Highwayman again. So cool.

Dawn (caveatlector) Personally I loved Metallica's performance. Thought it was the best of the night.

Steven Tylers mustache was a bit much though!

Terri | 19576 comments I thought I would love Metallica's performance. Metallica performing One is usually an instant hit for me...only I felt, this time around, they massacred the song.
They were out of synch, whoever the soundman was they should never work with Metallica again, Kirk's playing (lead guitar) was really bad sometimes and James sang the first two thirds song off key. He only found his key in the last third.
And they cut out the second solo! WTF!

Just my opinion though. As a diehard metallica fan I have higher than normal expectations. :)

Well I am having yet another problem with goodreads. When I clicked on one of my notifications, it goes to a warning screen that says this site is having a problem with its security check something or other and then recommends you leave the site. Anyone else seen this?

Terri | 19576 comments I haven't seen that yet, but yesterday GR was a hot mess. Add book link didn't work, preview message didn't work. Lots of stuff didn't work.

I have only just now logged into GR, so I don't know if this is all still playing up.

I'll just take Keith Urban if you please. His performance was so rocker sexy, but I'm biased. He's a hottie. lol

message 6470: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) I rather liked Kacey Musgraves. I am not a country fan but I loved the lyrics to that song she sang http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ8xqy... , Follow Your Arrow.

Make lots of noise
Kiss lots of boys
Or kiss lots of girls
If that's something you're into
When the straight and narrow
Gets a little too straight
Roll up a joint, or don't
Just follow your arrow
Wherever it points, yeah
Follow your arrow
Wherever it points

message 6471: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments I thought the same thing. I wasn't into the song. I like old time country and her song was a bit pop for my tastes, but the lyrics were great.

I also really enjoyed the Kendrick Lamar/Imagine Dragons performance. I had no real interest in the Imagine Dragons song until I saw this performance with Lamar. Kendrick lamar is awesome. Such old school rap.

The other performance I thought was terrific was Macklemore & Ryan Lewis/Madonna. It made me cry a lot.

One of my favourites of theirs too. So disappointed that it my my ears bleed.

I read someone on You Tube or somewhere say that if Metallica of the late 80's had been watching that performance they would have gotten up and kicked old Metallica's arse and kicked them off the stage.
I thought that was pretty funny. :]

omg that line had me in fits.

My personal favourites..

"anybody who cannot air drum Battery...with fills...must leave the room" (three stayed)

I may have exact words wrong on this one, but it is fairly close)
"why can't they stick to what they do best...like Megadeth, Slayer.......adn Anthrax.." pause, much confused looks by others in the room " ok..f##k Anthrax"

OMG I nearly peed my pants.

I too would one day like to where my Justice t shirt and not have kids say derogatory things about Metallica. I feel fake Hitler's pain. :[

Linda (ladylawyer8650) | 1702 comments Archie is a Mississippi man. We loved, loved, loved him at Ole Miss. When Eli was at Ole Miss, the team sometimes stayed in my town (40 minutes away) he could win, but he did not display the same character as his mother and father did. Peyton, from what I can tell, is not an Archie either. I watched ESPN last night and saw Archie's story as told through his sons. It was wonderful! It took me back to my youth and all those feelings from that time. If the Broncos win, I will happy. If they lose, you will see Archie on tv and he will handle himself with grace as he has always done.

Portia The Groundhog Paxetawney Phil saw his shadow yesterday indicating six more weeks if Winter. I think Phil's got it right this year.

Linda (ladylawyer8650) | 1702 comments He usually pouts and walks off after a loss. He did shake Wilson's hand. The Seahawks got no press before the game that I could find. There is enough egg to spread around on several faces today. Anybody notice the media bias?

message 6492: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments Personally, I think this year he took one step out of his den, his sinuses froze up then thought to himself "screw this I'm going back to bed". I think this shadow business has nothing to do with it. I suspect like all the rest of us non-winter types, he couldn't hack the cold this year hahah

message 6493: by Portia (new)

Portia Yeah, even us PA natives are whining this year. But Phil's got it right. There is another cold front on its way. Stack the firewood next to the hearth. Finally read that 1,000 book!

Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments I had a wee giggle when I saw this. Now, I'm not discounting that this could be a phenomenal adventure for just 500pound sterling, but that it starts the day after the vote on Scottish independence is a bit funny.

Linda (ladylawyer8650) | 1702 comments When Brett Favre was qb for Green Bay, they were thoroughly routed by a lesser team. In the interview after the game, he said could not have beaten a junior high football team that day. I think this is what happened to the Brocos. They were off their game.

I would love to do this. The bonus of having English Heritage along as a tour guide would be awesome.

At first I thought 50 pounds was cheap. then I read on and discover you have to raise another 450 pounds.

Only a walk for extroverts and confident people then. Shy, introverts don't usually do fundraising (unless other people do it and the introvert can hide in the background helping).
