Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments I'm not a chocolate person. Especially any dairy type chocolate. And yes, I'm aware that this makes my membership to the human race rather tenuous ;)

Vegan always seems so difficult to follow. I have a girlfriend who's vegetarian and she get very creative with her food so she gets all the right nutrients, which is made more difficult by the fact that she really doesn't like vegetables (it amusing me to no end).

You are going to have to get used to explaining your food choices. I have a very restrictive diet because of extreme pickiness and I spend all my time explaining what I will or won't eat and why. One of my signs of a good friend is when they don't nag, comment or worry about what's on my plate. :)

Yummm. Which is strange because I don't like pizza! It somehow tastes different the next day all cold.

One of the signs of a good friend lol. Funny, a close gf of mine and I are like that. We'll share something like chicken fajitas and she likes it because I'll only eat a few bites of meat and take all the vegetables (which she doesnt like) and then they bring you sour cream & salsa. she hates salsa and I hate sour cream so we don't have to share or squabble! Then one of us will always comment about how we make perfect dates :)

Dawn (caveatlector) That sounds like my sister and I Allie. Always eating what the other doesn't. :)

Allison | 1704 comments We are all good sharers then lol.

Except dessert, I can't share dessert. I'm all like, "let's get the peanut butter brownie explosion". What's that?? Oh, you can't eat nuts?? Darn, I'll just have to enjoy this all by my lonesome ;)

I think the theory you are referring to is the blood type theory, eating for ones bloodtype. It has been widely discredited (I'll look for the links when I have some time). But if it was true, then I am eating completely wrong since according to it I should be munching on a ton of meat everyday and I am happy and healthy vegetarian (and now hopefully vegan).

No. It isn't that. That diet is absolute crap. Based on my blood type I should be eating food that literally makes me sick. No thank you.

This was something that was being researched by scientists a couple of years ago, who were wondering if there could be a genetic reason for food intolerances (not allergies), and why some people absorbed more nutrients from some foods than others. It had nothing to do with diets at all.

Dawn (caveatlector) I found a quiz. Reveal Your Character (a literary one that is) http://www.abebooks.com/docs/Communit...

This is me: You are Galadriel from the trilogy the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Recently played by Cate Blanchett in the epic movie trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, you are a strong woman and you know what you want. You are a visionary with grand ideas.

I am not a visionary but I like the description anyway! :)

I got Eowyn, hurray!

You are Eowyn from the trilogy The Lord of the Rings. You are a strong woman who will not compromise your values. You stand up for those who are misunderstood and you are not afraid to fight. You are unafraid of death and to some you may seem mysterious.

message 5974: by Lia (new)

Hermione when I checked female
Sherlock Holmes, as a male

message 5977: by Portia (last edited Jan 10, 2014 02:33PM) (new)

Portia Eowyn and seems I am Superman as a male. Derek, did you choose the answer that basically said "I'd joke my opponent to death"?

It says I'm Lucy from Narnia. One thing I know for sure is, I'm not as loyal as those two characters. Me, to the end of the road? If they don't have proper toilet, I'm not going nowhere. ;)

message 5987: by Bryn (new)

Bryn Hammond (brynhammond) | 1505 comments I set 'male' because there's a better range to be. Sort of proved when I got Sherlock/Hermione, too.

message 5988: by Alicja (new)

Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 657 comments For female I am: You are Karen Blixen from the book Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen. You are a strong woman with an adventurous nature. You can hold your own and aren't afraid to speak your mind.

For male I am: You are Dirk Pitt from the well-known Clive Cussler novels. Recently played by Matthew McConaughey in the blockbuster movie Sahara, you are bold, confident and witty. You love to face new challenges and discover new things.

Clive Cussler’s widely popular series are full of fast-paced action. Dirk Pitt has often been compared to Indiana Jones. The characters explore and preserve history, often along with successfully thwarting villains with plans of global domination and catastrophe.

Well, Indiana Jones was my hero when I was a kid so I take this as a compliment! :)

message 5989: by Darcy (last edited Jan 10, 2014 08:09PM) (new)

Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments Dirk Pitt isn't anything like Indiana Jones. Plus, he's got a full time sidekick.

And why is the comment box now blue? Dozens of important things need fixing on this site, and someone is fiddling with colours.

ETA: Some other little changes too. I guess I now know what they were getting up to when the site was down for maintenance.

message 5990: by Portia (new)

Portia Indiana Jones was my hero when I wasn't a kid, Alicjia. And Han Solo before him. Not a huge fan of Jack Ryan, tho. When Harrisin Ford was 34 and I was 25, sigh.

message 5991: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments I'm Hermione too.

Reading their description I'd have to say it is spot on.

You are Hermione from the Harry Potter series. You are smart, witty, and love a challenge. You use rationality and reason in all things. You are measured and stable and you don't let people push you around.

message 5992: by Alicja (new)

Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 657 comments I never heard of Dirk Pitt before so assumed the description was correct (which does mention Indiana Jones). :)

Portia wrote: "Indiana Jones was my hero when I wasn't a kid, Alicjia. And Han Solo before him. Not a huge fan of Jack Ryan, tho. When Harrisin Ford was 34 and I was 25, sigh."

Oh, yes, Han Solo was my hero too. Then there was Daniel Jackson, and eventually Vala Mal Doran. And Buffy, of course. And then when I was in college there was Captain Mal and Jayne Cobb. Love the action and adventure kick ass boys and girls (and a plus when they have smarts too).
