Awwww. You missed a great display. It's usually released on dvd through the ABC shops later in the year. Maybe keep an eye out.
Dunno. That's put me in a New Year mood. Might have to inflict the Mongolian cds on my neighbours, not that they can hear over themselves.Happy New Year peeps. We start early in Oz.
6 hours to go and counting. Got the gkids over whilst my kids go out, so it's food and wine for me.My wife doesn't drink so the little ones are safe. Lol
Happy new year to all near and far.

Wow. Thanks for the link, Bryn. The Scots must never have known what hit 'em. ;-) The outfits alone are stunning.
Happy New Year, everyone, especially those who get a head start. We have 4.5 more hours to go here until 2014.

How did everyone do on their reading goals last year? Any for this year?
I passed by my reading goal by about 8. It was supposed to be one more, but I forgot to add it before the challenge closed. I will see if it will be added to the previous challenge if I back date the 'finished' date to 2013.This year I have gone with 55. Five more than last year.
I didn't think I'd pass my goal quite so spectacularly but I managed 70 more than what I had proposed. I'm going with only 2 more than last years challenge, so 132, as I intend to read less books with more pages. I'm in the mood for epics and doorstoppers!
For reasons too boring to explain, I need to start my books this year with The Great Gatsby. Could be the end of my reading goals for this year. ;-)

Curiosity: Mongolian cds--is this folk music, religious chanting like the Buddhist chanting, or plain old rock music? ;)
Jane wrote: "Curiosity: Mongolian cds--is this folk music, religious chanting like the Buddhist chanting, or plain old rock music? ;)"Funnily enough, what I have falls into these three types! I do have 'Shamans and Lamas', a shaman's performance & lamas in chant (how did you know?). And I have traditional folk songs/music. And I have the rock and the punk.
What I like most is when the rock uses the traditional. Indeed it almost always does. In my little collection, anyhow.

Just guesses...
You're certainly eclectic within your Mongolian music!
I read 87 books this last year. Ran into some good authors I had never heard of before thanks to group reads and recommendations.
Gee the reading Challenge takes up some real estate on one's profile page now doesn't it. Very loud and proud.Considering this it he fourth year that I have done it, the Reading Challenge area on my profile is quite in my face.
Not that it really bothers me. Just making an observation.
I rated a book that I forgot to rate in 2013. Added the 2013 read date to the review and it got put on my 2013 Challenge list. That's good.

thank you Lia, some great articles there.
Lisa wrote: "Keep cool tomorrow Terri looks like a scorcher!"8.30am and already 37 degrees. Looks like it will get to 43 degrees today and possibly tomorrow. :(
(For our Fahrenheit members..If the conversion is right..43 degrees is 109.something Fahrenheit)
Ouch! Hot!We had a record heat today as well, at least as far as January goes. Mid-day we have about 84/85 degrees Fahrenheit (that's 29 degrees Celsius). In winter. I know it is not as boiling as it is for you guys in Australia but come on weather, this is winter, please send us at least sweater weather for a few days. Please?
All that sounds way too hot for me. It's 6 (42 F) degrees here today and pouring buckets, we are supposed to get 20-30mm.
PS, the wind is supposed to pick up during the night and provide us with a wind chill of -5F by 8:00 AM. Warm night gown for Portia. And many cats on the bed!!!
Oh I so want to be where Portia is. Damn I love the cold. My husband, not so much. In one state yesterday they had temps between 45-48. That is too much, I couldn't cope with that. Do you get the humidity as well Terri, or just hot?
54 degrees celsius in Oonadatta yesterday according to Channel 10's news. That for our American friends is slightly over 129 degrees Fahrenheit.
It" s 23F and the wind has just picked up. I'm expecting to see all the snow that accumulated on the tree branches
On the ground in drifts when this is over. OK, 3:00 AM is too early for me. I 'm going to try for a few more dreams before sunrise .
I had to have the police take me to work because the roads were so bad. Alot of my coworkers had to stay the night. It has been crazy!
I just saw the snow on the news, where they mentioned that the wind is starting to pick up and all the cancelled flights. Hope everyone is snug and warm over there. The only thing that gets cancelled over here are trains due to the buckled lines. Oodnadatta is not somewhere I would like to be, hahaha.
