Well how about that! NNTA! that is. I was legitimate! Feel like Holly Hunter. Now we can all use RQ and know what we are talking about. Good girl, Jane.

Portia Geez, Linda, what a stinking day you had. So sorry all that everything went wrong for you.

Linda (ladylawyer8650) | 1702 comments Thank you. I' m not a graceful person, know nothing about car tires and should know better than to another person's medicine only if it is just a vitamin.

I told the news about my friend in seriousness. It is stage one, so I feel like she will be okay. My mother, who has a remarkable sixth sense, has a good feeling too. Again, thank you.

This health care debacle in the USA makes it a bad time to have a life threatening illness. My younger son has Type I diabetes and his insurance is or may be in peril. I wish the President had picked some other signature legislation. He probably wishes the same by now.

Linda! I'm not a superstitious person and even if I'm happy to find you here, on GR, I'm sure I'd be perfectly fine if I knew you in person. Your friend is very lucky (probably thanks to you...) to have discovered his/her problem while in phase 1, when it's possible to cure it.
Find yourself a handsome tire repairer and convince him to offer you a drink, since you singlehandedly twarted a bank theft (hence the shiner). Tell your swimming friends this and any other tale you can manage to think about your shiner, but never the same one!, and when it will disappear no one will never know the truth.
Last but not least, organize a dinner with your swim friends to celebrate the repairment of the tire, the healing of the eye, the surely improved health of your friend and the not-birthday of everybody else.
My father has insulin-dependent diabetes, he is 78 and he has lived a long and interesting life - he still amuses himself reading, playing chess and being grumpy whenever possible.
Good luck, and be happy!

I'm sorry you had a horrible day. As far as the black eye goes, make up some super exciting spy story. Say you got it kicking ass of about two dozen secret international terrorist organization's minions and all you got in return was a lousy black eyes. You are hoping they hire better minions next time because you love a challenge. :P

Terri | 19576 comments I watched Dredd (movie) on telly last night. Not the greatest movie ever made, but as a bit of a fan of Dredd comics in my twenties I thought Karl Urban killed it.
He played Judge Dredd perfectly. (Shame he didn't take his helmet off and show me that beautiful face though).
The girl was good too. Olivia Thirlby.

not too difficult. When it comes to 2000AD characters, I'd love someone to make a movie about Slaine or Johnny Alpha.

Yes, very ducking funny!

And here is an entire site dedicated to auto-correct fails: http://www.damnyouautocorrect.com/164...

It is hilarious! Warning, you may be spending hours there laughing your ass off instead of actually doing something productive.

Some of the funnier pages on there:

Dawn (caveatlector) I'm passing this on from Terri:

Logged onto Goodreads this morning and found the comment box on the site is not working for me.
I have sent Goodreads a message, but it will be days before I hear back from them. They may not be able to help me solve the issue.
If members notice I am missing from A&M Group, this is why. I cannot comment. I can read your comments. I cannot answer them.
So, if you have a question for me, my Goodreads private messages is working. You can contact me that way.

Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 657 comments You know how people put up those fake fireplaces on their TVs during the holidays? Especially in places like Florida where we have ten times (at least) more pools than fireplaces in our homes?

Well, I found a really, really awesome one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo1YG_...

Terri | 19576 comments That was crazy this morning. To not be able to comment on GR. Goodness. I thought GR was censoring me (only kidding).

I couldn't comment via laptop, tablet or iPad. When I couldn't comment on the laptop I was stricken! I thought it was my laptop.
Then I tried my tablet and the problem was still there. I felt better then. not laptop.
Then I checked via iPad and problem was still there. That was when I relaxed.
Clearly not a google problem if it was broke on iPad too.

message 5699: by Alicja (new)

Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 657 comments I added some quotes from the Pale Horseman that I liked and they have since disappeared. I wonder if it is just an error or if GR erased them on purpose. I wish I had saved them separately somewhere.

message 5700: by Terri, Wyrd bið ful aræd (new)

Terri | 19576 comments Strange. GR has been all over the place, maybe there is a bug with saving quotes.
