what age would you recommend first reading the hunger games

Some people say that you should wait until you are at least 13 or 14 but i think that 12 is fine (i read it when i was 12) so, i'm just curious to hear people's thoughts on this?



i read it when i was 8. so 8 and up should be good.


I'd say 12 at the least, maybe 11, depending on the personality of the child reading it.

Well when I read the book when it first came out so I was 15, but I definitely believe around 11 or 12 would be a good age for someone to read the books. Maybe even younger depending on their maturity level.


Ya, I think it TRULY matters whether or not the kid can understand what's really going on, but I think 11 or 12 is alright.


12 or older IMO. I have heard of 8 year olds reading it, but my son is 8 and I could not see him reading this series.

When I first read it I was 12. But 11 is fine to. so 6th grade.
