Thanks Shelli. I think posting quotes are great. I think I'm going to create a couple of different threads for us to keep everything organized. Quotes and Cinderella comparisons are the two I'm thinking of now. Can you think of any others?

***IF YOU HAVEN'T READ CHAPTER 12, DON'T READ THIS***
***IF YOU HAVEN'T READ CHAPTER 12, DON'T READ THIS***
***IF YOU HAVEN'T READ CHAPTER 12, DON'T READ THIS***
And do we now have a little Anastasia-type twist?

Was anyone else surprised about Cinder being a Lunar? Didn't see that one coming. Wondering, though, if the doctor knew Lunars were immune, why haven't they been working on that already? Seems like they'd have swarmed the ones living in the country and allowed them to stay only if they cooperated with experiments. Especially once the Emperor was infected. Cinder couldn't possibly have been the first Lunar the doctor had ever encountered.

Don't you just LOATHE the Lunar Queen?
This was a great choice, Dr. Perry. Thanks!! I never would have picked it up on my own, but I'm so glad I did.

I thought early on that Cinder could be Selene. I know it was a shock but I wish Kai would have been a little less disgusted by Cinder's cyborg features and not accuesed her of using Lunar control.

****Spoiler Alert****
From the moment Selene was mentioned in the story, I thought that is who Cinder was. When I read that part toward the end I actually shouted out "I knew it!" I got a weird look from my husband...
I have to agree with Paula that I was a little disappointed in Kai's reaction when he found out Cinder was cyborg and Lunar.

I agree with you. Sometimes it feels like we are "short-changed" when we spend time reading a book, but then it doesn't end and you have to read the next novel to see how it ends. I do like series, but I like it when a book "ends" and the next one begins.

That is good to know. I read it last year and I just finished listening to the audio book yesterday. The audio book was really good too. I liked it just as much as the first time.

Daniela - what do you mean about incorporating the stories of Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White? Is she supposed to? That will be interesting.
Thanks for posting even though you finished a little after everyone else.

I will add that when I read the book jacket summary to my husband he laughed out loud and said, "Are you serious?" Heck yeah, I'm serious. :-)

Courtney, you need to read the VERY short prequel, Glitches. Fills in some unknowns about the step-dad and circumstances that brought Cinder in. Also, I just read an interview with Meyer, and apparently the next book brings in the Red Riding Hood/Wolf thinly veiled fairy tale. Seems like the third book is a Rapunzel character. Somehow they all intertwine.
