Hey Mischelle, you can put the book on by choosing add author/book in the right corner.

That's what I loved most about the movie (I haven't read the book yet, but hope to this month). I predicted that from the beginning, but still felt satisfied when my prediction came true. (view spoiler)

Just finished The Eyes of Darkness and started this one. It's off to a good start - hope it continues. Don't let me down Leigh Nichols!!! The last two Leigh Nichols books I read left me feeling disappointed - The Key to Midnight and The Eyes of Darkness. I did however very much like The House of Thunder.

I plan to watch the film after reading the book :-)

Well, we all have different favorites for different reasons :-) It wasn't on of my favorites, but I liked it enough to give it 3 stars which for me is pretty average.....I mean average in quality - lower than average for the starts I usually give out especially for a Koontz book :-(

Did anyone ever see this movie? THE SERVANTS OF THE TWILIGHT movie that came out in 1991?

I did, as you can see from the above comment. :-)

I am enjoying this much more than The Key to Midnight or The Eyes of Darkness. Good Choice, Jason!

There is a windmill in this book :-) I love windmills!

Nearly finished and then I will look at some of the spoilers posted above. This story is definitely non-stop action, but it will not make it to my favorites list. I still like The House of Thunder the best of the Leigh Nichols books. I had been thinking 4 stars but now I'm thinking 3 stars - will have to see what I think of the ending.

Nora aka Diva (DuctTapeDiva) | 246 comments I liked it. It's a fun read, I think but I wasn't real surprised by how things went since Christine (view spoiler)

Mischelle (Misc) | 33 comments Doesn't Kyle Barlow remind you of Deucalion of the Frankenstein series. Although; I've read SERVANTS OF TWILIGHT along time ago and I just finished reading it again. Barlow came before Deucalion.

Another thing. Did Koontz ever written romance scene in his books? Was it necessary for this book?

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
He wrote lots of romance when he was using a woman pen name : Leigh Nichols. Leigh Nichols wrote The Servants of Twilight, The House of Thunder, The Key to Midnight, The Eyes of Darkness and Shadowfires.

I finished this book a while ago. I think I will give The Servants of Twilight 3 stars.

Matthew Behling (MattyKB) | 25 comments I like this book. I like how through the entire novel you're reading about this bats*** crazy lady and her cult, and then at the end, you think "were they even bats*** crazy at all? (view spoiler)

Danny | 13 comments I just finished this book and I really like it. I'm still suspicious about Joey... but he's a sweet kid, I'll let him off. I think DK is great for still creating doubts in the readers mind, when the characters minds are at ease. Even if that ease is somewhat delusional, it works for Charlie :)

*spoiler*
Recently stumbled upon Dean Koontz and he is quickly becoming my favorite author.
This is my 2nd Dean Koontz book a (my first was Watchers) the pacing was a bit repetitive for me.

I'm wondering how other readers interpreted the ending? Do you think Joey was the antichrist?

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
I don't really remember the details - been a while since I read it. I would have to go look at the ending but I am feeling too lazy to get up and do that :-)

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

The ending was basically like these bats came and killed Grace Spivey when a round went off in the cave but didn't attack Christine (mom), joey (little boy) or charlie (body guard). and "Chewbaca" who looks exactly like Joey's old dog Brandy who died earlier in the book was "dead" (beaten over the head with the butt end of the weapon) but after the bats kill Grave Spivey Joey walks over to the dog and pets him and the dog makes a miraculous recovery. Then Charlie suspects that chewbaca really is brandy and Joey brought him back from the dead because he was the anti Christ. So charlie goes to the pet cemetery and digs up Brandy's grave and its the wrong dog type...

Its left up to readers interpretation.
