I love the version Sam tells young Sam after a hard day. "That's not my Daddy! He says, 'Buggrem, buggrit! That's foul Ole Ron!"
I have the book and I've tried some of the recipes. Jammy Beggars, Nobby's Mum's recipe, are actually very nice - especially with home made jam.
Nanny Ogg's Cookbook: A Useful and Improving Almanack of Information Including Astonishing Recipes from Terry Pratchett's Discworld
Getting back on track with this challenge, I've just started Interesting Times number 17 :o) only 22 more to go!
I suspect you meant to link to the book rather than the stage play (btw, I was in that - played Ponder Stibbons :))
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "I have slightly neglected my challenge... I wonder do I still have any hope left of completing it"Of course.
I need to get a move on and start reading them again. I've got sidetracked with all the new releases from our authors and the monthly reads.
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "Getting back on track with this challenge, I've just started Interesting Times number 17 :o) only 22 more to go!"Oh, I love Interesting Times, although, if pushed, I guess my favourite would probably be Witches Abroad
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "Witches Abroad I think has been my favourite so far."I'm quite a fan of Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg.
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "I find them the funniest of his characters"Yes, although I rather enjoy the Sam Vimes series as well.
I'm not so fussed on the Watch ones. I like them but they aren't my favourite but I do prefer them to some of the independant ones about foreign places.
I don't know, my top three absolute favourite Discworld books are indies: Pyramids, Small Gods and Moving Pictures. The Watch books... no, I'll expand that: the Ankh Morepork books feel like they've got into a rut. They've become predictable and it's almost crank the handle and out comes another one, kerching. The best recent DW, in my opinion have been the Tiffany Aching stories, which are kind of 'Weatherwax lite', and off Discworld, Nation was an absolute corker.
I think I like the series ones the best cause they are a series and you get to see your favourite characters again. To be honest I like them all but I just like some less than others... Don't think I've read any that I didn't like at all

Nation took some getting into for me, but it was well worth the effort.
Snuff is excellent, brought it the day it was out and read it twice since. Nation wasn't discworld but was alright. Academicals was funny but not as good as the others.
The first pratchett I read was Reaper Manand I was travelling on a train, I kept giggling to myself and I am sure everyone else on the train thought I was nuts.
I love anything with Death in it and Vimes. I wasn't keen on Lord and Ladies but it grew on me.
I was most upset to hear Mr Pratchett has Alzhemiers and I really hope he continues to write for as long as he can and that wonderful, witty mind is preserved as much as it can be. Such a terrible disease.
Lords & Ladies is a great riff on MidSummer Night's Dream (especially if you know your Shakespeare), and the stick and bucket dance, well, that's a nightmare that will live with me into old age... :)

I've really enjoyed Snuff, although I thought it rambled a bit at first. Just finished The Long Earth and found it intriguing but lacking a really strong storyline. However, I can see the potential for much more to come.
I have read a few and only three really gripped me; Mort, The wee free men and I shall wear midnight but I am yet to read Snuff
I think I love them all but I love some more than others but I haven't read one that I haven't liked. Although sometimes I get fed up that the next book doesn't have the characters I want in it, like I am ready to read another witches book but the next in the series is a night watch one, that sort of thing
I don't seem to have snuff on my kindle so I won't include that one in my challenge, only 1 left to go!
