Okay, I just went through and deleted that "mini-war" between some people. Please, please stop fighting, if you have soemthign to say to someone, stop swearing at people and stuff, its not solving anything, and it is very much hurting your chances to get picked as a mod! Okay.... *posts before I say something I dont mean*

Yes. Very hard. As I have had the 'joy' of recently discovering since I've made my first group.
*Head desks also.*

'Lets all give ourselves brain damage yay!'
*Sarcastic air-punch.*
My head hurts now...

Back to topic.....
Anyone else a fan of Doctor Who? Seen episode two of season one? It's the one that's the end of the world. Even THE last human is obsessed with being thin. Remember the lines, "Moisturize me, moisturize me!" and "You've had it all nipped and tucked and flattened till there's nothing left. Anything human got chucked in the bin. You're just skin, Cassandra. Lipstick and skin."
For those of you that haven't seen the show, the last human being is nothing but stretched skin(on a frame) with eyes and a mouth. She's a selfish snob and needs people to wait on her hand and foot, and spends loads of money to get surgery. It's pathetic and disgusting... but shows just how much appearance is part of society. She would have been considered pretty, supposedly. It's sad. Yet when you look at some celebrities, like Kelly Clarkson, they're not unattractive even with extra weight. As it is Kelly Clarkson used to be thin. But(if I remember right) she thought she was cheating herself and didn't feel right thin. So she gained the weight back and is still very pretty. Yet people still push for thin, thin, thin. I'm thin and can easily imagine how I would look anorexic, and it's not good. As it is you can faintly see my ribs and they are very easy to see when I stretch or even just reach up to brush my hair. But I'm healthy, thank goodness. Like that naturally. I don't see why people would want to push themselves to be so thin they can count all their ribs without a problem. It's gross, unattractive, and unhealthy. Why can't people just aim to be healthy and comfortable with themselves?
and I forgot where else I was going with that.... oops.

Too oten I hear that it's important to be healthy, and that slim =healthy, but where does happiness come into the equation? The claim that being slim boosts one's self confidence is not all inclusive, and like perceptions of beauty, depends very much on the perspective of the person.
Speaking from an actual example, my girlfriend tells me she's more confident and self assured now than she was before. She's at her fattest she's ever been, and loving it. Of course healthy is important, but there's no generally inclusive formula as to how it is achieved.

Yeah, everyone has a different healthy zone, and feels comfortable and happy with themselves at certain weights. Me? I don't want to gain more fat, I just want to gain muscle. It would increase my weight, but weight isn't the problem. You can have a high BMI and through that be called overweight, but you wouldn't have fat and could be mostly muscle.
Healthy doesn't mean slim. Healthy means whatever your body is comfortable with and doesn't pose any potential problems with your health. If it's healthy to be slim, doctors would be telling people to be anorexic.

Lynx... I think I love you... Cassandra, I believe, is definitely one of the most complex Doctor Who antagonists (but who really is? Is it the Daleks? The Cybermen? Cassandra? The Doctor?) and one of my personal favorites.
I never really saw it that way...
And as for what I think is attractive/beautiful, I think everyone can be, but it's all in the way they carry themselves. If they carry themselves with dignity, kindness, and confidence, I do think that's definitely considered "beautiful." As for size, I'm not going to lie - I'm not attracted to overweight people at all. I'm not saying that I have things against them, my hormones just don't seem to make me attracted to them. I do believe it's important to keep your body healthy, and at a fit weight and size, but I understand that it's hard and some people aren't built to be "skinny." Nothing against them, but I do think it's up to everyone to keep their body nice and healthy. :)

Haha. :D You have no idea how often people have told me that(about loving me after I posted a comment). It's kinds amusing.
Yeah, Cassandra is a cool antagonist. Not my fav(I'm fond of the cybermen and daleks) but really interesting. I like how she dries up and bursts at the end....
Once again, you're getting to the skinny=healthy. Who says skinny is healthy for everyone? Plus not everyone CAN loose weight. Like my mom and grandma used to be thin, but after kids they gained weight and no matter how hard they try(and they've tried hard) they can't seem to loose it. I agree about the confidence bit though. If you're confident it makes a world of difference.

My personal favorites are Cassandra, Lady Rosanna (from Vampires of Venice, The Wire, the Nanogenes (if they can be considered "antagonists", anyway), and the Silence (the cult, not the memory-wiping alien) because they really show how Doctor Who is definitely not a black-and-white show in the sense of right and wrong, and it's like, are they truly bad if they mean somewhat well? Who is really the antagonist? That kind of stuff. I love the end of New Earth. Actually, I love that episode in general (slim... and a little bit... foxy...).
Agh I was going to post more but I need to go right now, so I'll type that up later.

I like the weeping angels. The "bad guys" from Silence in the Library as well. And the one lady in that cyberman episode... um... I can't remember who she is or the episode. Oh well.

I would but Megavideo is down and I don't have DVD or Netflix.
And oh... I'm not sure, then.
