thanks i'll consider that, but at the moment I've been reading Sparks' novel so i may not read Hunger Games for a while... i have a site for ebooks and at the moment that's where i'm clinging for books that i couldn't find on the bookstore. :)

Danielle Smiley (daniellesmiley) Yay! I just started so I can finally join in the convo here. I'm just a few pages in thus far... but here are my first impressions ... I like the first person present tense that it's written in. It makes it feel like she's telling me what's going on as it happens. It's refreshing. However I am having trouble connecting with the drown the kitten, kill the friendly lynx mc here. I truly get how this speaks to the desperation of the setting, but it's unsettling to me.

Heidi (heidirainydayramblings) Hey Danielle, I just started last night too. It is riveting I am 10% in, talk about reality television! Yikes! Catniss is awesome!

Becca (BeccaHandley) | 62 comments So. You guys were able to put it down....better than me :)

Heidi (heidirainydayramblings) I am 30% in...waiting for the action but dreading! Dang it she is making me care too much about the characters. I don't want to get mynheart torn out.

you will! The weird thing is the only character I couldn't care at all was Catniss, but I loved everyone else, and the books!

Angie (angie_kay) | 2 comments This is one of thoses books I could not put down so everywhere I went and got any extra down time my nose was in the book. Loved It!

Cambria (cambria409) | 178 comments I read this book in one day! I loved it and I loved Catniss. She is so easy to become involved with and care about. The writing was fantastic and so easy to read and be drawn into. I will be writing my review very soon.

Cambria (cambria409) | 178 comments I am sensing a real love triangle in the second book though and I am not sure how I feel about that. I hate it because someone always gets hurt and when you care about all three of the people it makes it hard to read. lol.

I know! I know! It was heart-wrenching to see one and then the other have his heart pretty much broken. I will say this, I am NOT happy with Katniss' decision (about who she marries)

Celine (ily3) | 4 comments Hey all,
I just read this book a couple of weeks ago. I still have to read the second and third though. :)
I hope I can also participate in upcoming reads.

Becca (BeccaHandley) | 62 comments Agree! Agree! Getting so sick of triangles...wish I could stop reading them all together. This series had so much tension, plot threads, can only ask...why????

Heidi (heidirainydayramblings) Hi Celine you are welcome to join the gang, we are also reading Soul Screamers!

Not at all! I can't say I was emotionally scarred (I read a lot of much weirder stuff) but I read the first two in three days so I know you feel. Definitely one of my top 5 all time.

Heidi (heidirainydayramblings) I am loving it, just having a hard time getting through because I have all these books that are on a deadline. I am 30% just waiting for the shoe to drop and the killing to start and I keep thinking don't make me like that 12 yr old she is going to get killed. Ahh want the action to start but I don't...

Veronica Morfi (vmorfi) | 464 comments I agree with you Kat. It's a very overwelming book. Both emotionally and with all it's action. The author blended those two togwther perfectly.

I know how that is. But I really hope you take your time with this book. Sometimes, when I start to get freaked out about deadlines, it kind of detracts from the actual story. Definitely don't want that to happen with this.

Is New Girl really that skanky? All the reviews I am reading are so mixed and I have it waiting for me to read...

Heidi (heidirainydayramblings) Yes Veronica New Girl 's Becca is a skank she loses her virginity the first night she goes to school to a guy she doesn't even know and now she is playing a manipulative game using sex to get a guy.,Honestly this book is for mature YA only, really should be an adult book. Lots of sex and alcohol, but so far I am enjoying it, waiting to see the twists.

Danielle Smiley (daniellesmiley) Just finished HG. Having very mixed emotions about the book. Loved it. Dislike it. ...hmmm... cried a bunch. Overall it was an amazing story. Very intense, full of hold-your-breath moments. Just so dark though. I realize dystopian tends to lean that way, but there was just so little hope in this book. I expected more from the ending, especially in regards to hope.

I know what you mean about hope...even in the most depressing ending I love that there is always hope...but not in these books.

Cambria (cambria409) | 178 comments well I am glad to not be the only one that thinks its an emotional book. It was very powerful and a great read but I am slightly scared to read the next too, lol.

Celine (ily3) | 4 comments Heidi wrote: "Hi Celine you are welcome to join the gang, we are also reading Soul Screamers!"

Hey Heidi, thanks I will try and read it after my list of to-reads already, hehe. Plus, I will have to read the first one first, before My Soul to Save as listed. :)

Great. :)

Heidi (heidirainydayramblings) I hear ya Celine. I am still going to try and squeeze Soul Screamers 2 in before the end of the month.

Reggie Alexander | 2 comments Finished it over the weekend and just posted my review. All in all I thought Ms. Collins did a good job with the story, I enjoyed it. I have to agree with some of the others though, in that I really didn't care for Katniss as much as some of the other characters. I thought she was shallow and not as well developed as some of the others and a fool at the end of the book.

Danielle Smiley (daniellesmiley) I'll be writing my review today and starting on Soul Screamers 2. Glad to be reading with you all.
:)
Danielle

Rachel Yuska (vanness77) | 7 comments I saw the movie trailer yesterday when I was about to watch other movie. I need to speed up the reading. So far sogood, i'm hooked!

Posted this on a different discussion by accident so I'll paste here:

Hey guys we're nearing the end of the month! Got any nominations for Feb? We could do Catching Fire since a lot of us read Hunger Games. An indie choice might be Swirls by FA Hershey. It's on a blog tour right now so that might be fun (:

Cambria (cambria409) | 178 comments Hey all! i posted my review for Hunger Games on my blog today. http://www.cambriahebert.com

As for next months read... I don't know! There are too many books to pick from! lol. An indie book would be cool. So would catching fire.
I've always wanted to read this book:
Juliet Immortal (Juliet Immortal #1) by Stacey Jay
