Welcome to the discussion of When I See You. This novels was released in late December 2011. The earlier version of this novel was a scene for my first novel, Seeing Julia. I loved the scene and the idea of a soldier story. It didn't work for Seeing Julia, so it became its own story with When I See You. It is written from two points of view that of Jordan Holloway and Brock Wainwright. I wanted to challenge myself with a varied point of view from a female and male perspective. Challenge!

Additionally, I tried to slow the story down in comparison to my first two books.

SPOILER ALERT: It was a real challenge to write from Brock's point of view, since he was blind for more than half the book. Lots of research!! This story first came to me as part of an exercise I did for one of my classes with The Writers Studio. I kept getting asked about "the soldier story" by my classmates/peers so I pursued it.
