So, how is everyone coming along with the reading? All I can say is that I love this book so much. I read it at least once a year and it always has the same effect. I love the storyline, and I especially love the supernatural aspect of the novel. It isn't too overpowering, and definitely essential to the story. What do you all think? Is there anything in particular you all would like to discuss? Discuss away. Post questions, comments, etc. I can't wait to engage in discussion with you!

Hey guys. How are you all coming along with the reading? I have tons of questions and topics I'd like to discuss. I guess I'll start with the dream in Chapter 3. I have an idea of what I think it means, but what do you guys think? I know Ch. 3 was last week, but I still have that dream on my mind. I've been trying to find connections in the reading.

Jordan (jordan_hickman) | 15 comments Lockwood's dream is interesting, but to me the most interesting thing was Heathcliff's reaction. It's like he so longs for Catherine that when he opens the window and calls for her we see the all consuming love and passion he has for her. He wants so badly to believe that she is there haunting the place, even though no evidence of her exists.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Usually though, evidence doesn't exist in cases of supernatural activity. Lockwood had no reason to experience Catherine's presence other than her ghost was really there. On another note, I have a love/hate relationship w/Heathcliff & Catherine's relationship. Like you said, he is consumed with passion for her, and she for him, but her cruelty never allows her shield to come down. I don't know what she is so afraid of. There is no reason for Catherine not to trust Heathcliff. I guess her bad experiences w/other members of her family make her scared?

Alright, it's time to be done with this book, but I still have several chapters to go. Should we continue w/this discussion, or move on? There's still so much to discuss, but participation is down to 2 people. I really would love some feedback on this book and a more lively, engaged discussion.

Jordan (jordan_hickman) | 15 comments I've been trying to join in more but I can only access Goodreads at work for some reason. My home computer hates this website apparently! (I tried to send you a DM on twitter but I'm not sure that worked either.)

Yes, I got your message. I understand; time is limited and it's even harder when one cannot access the site from home. It would be great if we could get some others to join the group. Know anybody?
