Suddenly I found myself burying my face in his chest and breathing in his scent. He always smelled good, but even better this close. "It's alright, I guess. I just... I didn't know why you had an outburst over it."

Fully wrapping my arms around her, I laid my cheek on top of her head. "You know how I am when it comes to Strigoi, Ari." I pulled away, but I still had my arms around her. "So do I have you back?" I asked hopeful.

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "Don't you mean do I have you back? I wasn't the one who changed."

I sighed and nodded, ignoring the last bit. I rubbed her arms softly, attempting to warm them up despite my cool skin. "Are you okay, though?"

Ari

No. "Yeah, I'm fine," I said, hoping it would be convincing enough. I got out of his arms, not that I felt uncomfortable. Just...weird. Quin and I barely ever hugged. "Well... We should go back."

Quin

I could sense that she was indeed not okay. I knew that look too well in her eyes, it made me feel incredibly sorry for her. So, I sighed and nodded. "Alright." Turning slowly on my heel, I looked back at the forest where Blake disappeared into. Where did he go to?

message 108: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) ((u_u Okay.))

Ari

I was already walking, but stopped and turned back when I noticed that Quin wasn't following me. "Come on, Quin. I'm kinda the one who's supposed to be following you."

A shiver ran down my spin unintentionally, I turned around and went to her side, my arm brushing hers. "So, what does this mean now?"

message 110: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I looked at him quizically. "What do you mean?" I took the lead instead, since I had to get to the training grounds.

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

"I mean, what happens now that Blake was just here? Do we tell someone?" I looked around for people in the small court yard. There was hardly anyone out, since it was close to dusk.

"Well, it wasn't like he crossed the wards. He can't." I opened the big doors that revealed the training grounds, a wide field with bleachers. "We'll be fine." Dane walked over to me with a sly smile, and if my observation was correct, he was going to attack me. I smiled back at him and, at the last minute, I was right. He lunged at me, but I effortlessly glided out of the way, letting him fall face first to the ground. Several dhampirs there chuckled and whistled at me. Dane got back up and shot me a wink. "Nice, Seaglass. You still got it."

message 113: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

My body twitched to step in front of the dhampir, but almost laughed out loud when Ari stepped aside, making Dane fall face first. Classic. I was still gazing behind me at the woods, wondering if Blake was going to make it one of his daily routines to come here, provoking us.

message 114: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I helped Dane up. "Please, I always have." His sly smile turned a little...softer, making my heart do flip-flops. Although a part of me didn't like it. I never expected Dane to have a soft side. "Thanks, Ari. We should practice more sometimes." I nodded, blushing slightly. "Okay, seeya." I turned and walked in to join the rest of my guardian friends, feeling Quin's glare prickling the back of my neck.

It was as if Ari didn't care how she flaunted her ways, it just seemed too unladylike to me. But of course, Ari hardly seemed the ladylike type with her toughness. I sighed and fell in step with her, feeling out of place once we was with...her other...friends.

message 116: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

Ash waved me over from the dhampirs side. Most of the Moroi were on the bleachers, but some of the more active or tough-guy (there's no such thing as tough-girl Morois. What a surprise, right?) ones are on the field. "Okay, I need to change," I said to Quin and shot him a smile. "I'll see you later." I turned and headed towards the girls' locker room, passing and greeting my friends on the way. Ash decided to come with me, and I didn't mind. I always loved her company.

I ran my hands through my hair, as I headed towards the donation building. I was starving anyway. Getting worked up like this always made my appetite whet. I could already feel my fangs ready to elongate at the thought. Once in the building, I went straight through the receptionist's desk and sat down in a cushioned chair. My feet felt achy, as I realized I was unusually tired. The receptionist smiled at me and waved a female blood donor through the door; she looked tired and...drained. I hated seeing people like this when I came here every once in a while. I mostly use blood bags, but I was too tired to care. Once the donor was sitting beside me, I wasted no time in latching my fangs onto her wrist.

message 118: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

After I changed, I dragged Ash with me out of the locker room and back onto the field. I looked around for Quin but he was nowhere to be seen. I asked one of my dhampir friends, Trevor, and he said Quin had headed to the direction of the donation building. I shrugged. He was probably hungry. I decided to run some laps for a while. I needed a good run.

After I was good and fed, my skin showed the slightest bit of color; pink in the cheeks. I headed back out onto the field where Ari was. But I didn't see her anywhere. And considering it was daylight, a sweat breaking out on my forehead, I decided to head back to the dorms for the day to get some rest. Once there, I had to force myself not to fall onto the floor from tiredness. Sleep hitting me as soon as my head hit my pillow.

message 121: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I didn't see Quin for the rest of the night, even when daylight started to show. I texted him to make sure where he was.

It sounded like a drill was right beside my head, vibrations pulsing through my ears. My eyes snapped open, searching around the room wildly, as my gaze rested on my phone on the nightstand beside me. It was moving every two seconds because of the vibrates. I rubbing my eyes and checked it, reading the text from Ari. I text back saying that I was at my dorm room.

message 123: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I let out a sigh of relief when I saw his reply. I put my phone on my bedside table and crawl into bed, exhausted, thoughts of Blake swirling in my head. The way his cold, red gaze pierced through me. I shivered, knowing that the image of him will be giving nightmares today.

message 124: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

I noticed that it was now nighttime, but I didn't feel like getting up. So I stayed in bed for the next few hours, Blake's red eyes staring at me creepily when I closed mine.

message 125: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I got up, showered, brushed my teeth and dressed in less than a few minutes. I met Ash outside of my room and we walked out of the dorms together. I looked around for Quin, but didn't find him. Maybe he was still in bed.

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

When I woke up again, my head felt like it had been hammered in while I was asleep. I groaned loudly and rose up to sat on the end of the bed. The room started to spin when I did. My hand shot out to steady myself on the nightstand, the room spinning even more. Heart in my throat, I focused enough to take out my cell phone and text Ari to come to my room. What the fuck is going on?

message 127: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I got a text from him telling me to come to his room. I told Ash and parted ways with her, heading towards the Moroi dorms. Once I got to his room, I didn't even bother knocking, since I always just let myself in. He looked...off. "Quin? You okay?"

message 128: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

The room had stilled, but it felt like I had just done LSD. The floorboards in my room, and the walls, looked like they were moving and taking shapes. I closed my eyes and shook my head, indicating that I was not okay.

message 129: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I hesitantly approached him. "Quin...?" I asked again. "What's going on?"

message 130: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

"I don't know," I whispered, my eyes squeezing shut tighter. A thin layer of sweat coated my skin, as I felt nausea clench my stomach in a vice grip. I leaned over the side of the nightstand, and threw up into the trash can beside it. When I looked into the bin, it was pure blood. "Ari..."

message 131: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I gasped and ran to him, tucking my one arm around him to support him. He was strong, but I was still able to support his weight just fine. "Come on, we need to get to the infirmary, okay? You're gonna be fine." I wasn't sure, though. He'd just puked out blood. Inside, I was screaming and panicking like a little girl. I half-dragged half-led him to the infirmary.

message 132: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

My body felt like dead weight, which, ironically it was. But it felt...colder then usual. My heart felt like it was going a mile a minute, as I leaned heavily on Ari. If it wasn't for her, I'd probably be passed out in my room without the next few seconds. I could feel my face had gone paler, my lips doing the same as well. I let out a groan as my stomach clenched and rolled.

message 133: by shady boots (new)

We barged into the infirmary, and I told the nurse everything. She nodded and motioned for Quin to lay on one of the beds. I remained close, worry gnawing at me.

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

I tumbled onto the bed, my breath wheezing out of my lungs. If I didn't know any better, I'd say I was dying.

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

"What's wrong with him?" I asked the nurse as she tended to Quin. "Whatever it is, I can't do anything for it," she said to me with a sad expression. "You'd have to take him to a powerful healer." "A powerful healer?" I asked, incredulous. "Where in the world would I find one?"

message 136: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

I heard what the nurse had said, which only made me worry for myself even more. "She lives in the mountains, she's quite distant, but she's good." The nurse held up a finger, and dialed a number on the phone on her desk. When she hung up, she look at us. "A driver is willing to escort you both to her. He needs serious spiritual attention right away."

message 137: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I nodded and sat next to Quin, putting my arms around him. "You're gonna be alright, okay? The driver'll be here soon." He looked paler than ever. Fragile, even. I didn't hug him too tight because I was afraid he would shatter.

I was grateful that Ari was there with me, otherwise I'd probably be flipping out. I let my head rest against her shoulder, concentrating on her sweet smell instead of my nausea.

Ari

When the car got here, I got into the backseat with Quin, keeping him close. His head rested on my shoulder, and I could smell the scent of his hair. "Try to get there fast," I said to the driver, and he nodded. I turned my face to Quin and kissed his forehead. I didn't know why I did it. "Just sleep for now, Quin, okay? I promise we'll get there when you wake up."

message 141: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments ((-gives you glue- I'm here now? D:))

Quin

The gesture was sweet. So sweet in fact that I snuggled into Ari's side, practically taking up the whole backseat due to my muscled size. I felt some of the nausea ease off of my stomach, but it seemed like it moved straight to my head. Hoping it would help, I let my forehead rest against Ari's cheek, feeling her warmth spread through my head like wildfire. It helped.

message 142: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) ((Finally. :c))

Ari

We drove on for what felt like decades. As Quin fell asleep, I hummed a soft song into his ear and brushed his head gently. He looked so fragile for his size. I could only hope that this healer will know what she's going.

Even though I was deep asleep, I could hear Ari's voice humming through my dreams. It was so blissful, I could feel myself falling deeper into sleep.

Eventually, I fell asleep too. But suddenly when I woke up half an hour or so later, it was my head that was buried in his chest now, and his arms were now around me. I knew I should've pulled away, but... The comfort his arms gave me...it was unbelievable. Somehow I was now the one who felt fragile and needed his arms to hold me up.

Quin

I had woken up about half way through the long drive to the healer. I noticed that Ari's head was now on my chest. So, I took the opportunity to wrap my arms securely but gently around her frame. Half-asleep now, I noticed the car had jolted to a stop in front of a small cottage surrounded by so many trees and so much nature. I also noticed that my arms were still around Ari, but I made no move to release her.

message 146: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) ((OH SORRY LOL. XD Btw come on msn.))

Ari

My eyes fluttered open, and I lifted my head. My lips barely grazed Quin's stubbled chin, and I jerked away slightly. "Sorry..." I mumbled lamely, looking towards the driver. "Are we here?" He looked at us through the rearview mirror and nodded, parking and unlocking the car.

message 147: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

I smiled softly at Ari before opening the car door, taking slow movements to get out of the small space for my larger body. I looked around at the scene before us. It looked humble, very welcoming. I could see smoke drifting towards the sky from the chimney. I could understand since the weather in the mountains was colder.

message 148: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

I got out of the car and took Quin's hand, walking towards the cottage, careful to support his weight. Up close, it looked bigger than I thought it would. We got up to the porch and I knocked on the door.

Olivia

I stared at my mother's spirit-infused stake that was in my hand, pulsing with power. I just couldn't wait to use it on a Strigoi. I jumped when I heard a knock on the door and thought maybe it was Mom. I put the stake back in its place and rushed to the door, opening it. Instead, three unfamiliar faces stood before me, and I raised my eyebrows. "Can I...help you?"

message 149: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitchristiann) | 1639 comments Quin

I straightened up enough to look like I just had my arm around the girl next to me. Even though looks can be deceiving, I could feel myself paler than normal for a Moroi, as I leaned against the wooden door frame. My skin crawled as a smaller figure opened the door.

message 150: by shady boots (new)

shady boots (shadyboots) Ari

The girl in front of us was, predictably, taller than me. But Quin still towered over both of us. "Hi," I said. "Umm... We're looking for Ms... Malcolm?"

Liv

"Oh, that's my mother. She's out at the moment." I leaned against the doorframe and studied the two. The dhampir girl was pretty adorable looking, but had this toughness in her. The Moroi guy was tall and buff and gorgeous, but...there was something off about him. "Maybe I could help, though. She won't be home for a while."
