THE RATIONALE Written by: Mary Wai I selected the book “The Bone Cage” by Angie Abdou because the cover page caught my attention; the front cover page included a girl swimming and because I enjoy swimming, I thought this book could relate to me and my thirst for swimming. The title also caught my attention and got me to think about what the novel would be about. What could the bone cage possibly mean? As I was observing the paperback, I read the summary on the back. It was about a guy named Digger who is a wrestler and a girl name Sadie who is a swimmer who passionately shares the same dream of winning a gold medal at the Olympics. To win, both must overcome obstacles that are thrown their way. I borrowed this book from the library because I knew that this book could relate to me and the situation that their put in can relate to situations that I am usually in. Other than the summary, the picture and the title, I don’t think anything else would of piqued my interest and gotten me to read this novel.
