Should it be a movie?????

If your husband drank himself into a stupor every night would you still want to stay in that marriage? Yes she cheated but it was necessary for the plot - and it would make a great movie like all his others.

Yes! I personally think that all Nicholas Spark's books should be films. All of them!!

Have to say I was a little dissapointed in Nicholas Sparks with this one. No, I don't think it would make a good movie. I don't feel like there would be much to it.

I thought the book was amazing and enjoyed every bit of it, but I must say that everything leading up to Dawson and Amanda meeting is almost exactly like the Notebook. Dawson is a poor kid with a bad reputation and Amanda is a rich girl who's family doesn't approve of her boyfriend. It feels like it would be so repetitive.

Then again, The Lucky One, Dear John, and The Last Song are repetitive and have been pretty successful.

The way the book is written, it feels like it is perfect for a movie. The cut scenes and the switch to the different sub plots throughout the book make it perfect to make it into a movie. I would like to see how it would turn out.

I don't think so, because people would probably see the whole movie as a Lady cheating on her husband...

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't see her so much as a cheater (and I hate cheaters). I know she did but I felt her pain. I saw her as going back to her one and only love and almost like she cheated on him by marrying someone else??? I think she settled and wasn't happy. I would love to see this become a movie.

Yes, it has to be! It's a wonderful book and I think the movie will be amazing!

NO, this book is just like the notebook only difference is the ending. Its a good book but I truly think they should refrain from making this one a movie.

No way... it was very boring n predictable book.

it should be....must be!

Of course it should be a movie

I do believe it should be a movie because it read like real life and what real people actually go through. Life can be difficult, emotional, unyielding and at times predictable. I also like the comment about organ donation.

I don't really like this book and I don't think it will be a good movie.

I dont think they should make a movie after this book!It was good, but not that good.

Yes, it should be a movie. I loved the book. At first I was afraid it was going to take the exact same route as The Notebook but I was pleasantly surprised with the entire book.

I think that Amanda's mother was an elitist snob. The loss of a child is something that only those that experience can really understand. If Amanda had someone to talk to and discuss her problems, she probably wouldn't turned to her lost love. I hope they really develop that angle in the movie. I'm sure it will be made into a movie. The only Sparks movie I have watched is The Notebook, and it's probably the only one I will ever see.

This was a quick, good read after a " heavier" thought provoking read, but I do not think it would be a good movie.

Although this book was CRAZY boring, I really hope it gets made into a movie. Just look at the Notebook! A Nicholas Sparks book made into one of the greatest movies of all time. If it were made into a movie I'm sure they would make it more interesting/heart-wrenching.

The book disappointed me, so I don`t think I want to see a movie.

I agree with Citra. The book was boring and predictable. The love story part wasn't even that great. It didn't move me the way I expected it to. I feel that part of the story wasn't developed properly. The conflict with his cousins/uncle was also a bit weak and felt that it was added as an afterthought just to have some type of conflict. I saw the end about 1/3 into the book. No surprise at all. I wouldn't see it as a movie. My first Nicholas Sparks novel and I sorta hated it :(

Jools I agree in it should not be a movie, but you really should try to read one of his earlier books.

But did she actually cheat at that point in time or did the fact that she had always loved Dawson and could never love Frank the same way mean that she was cheating their entire marriage?
I don't know if this novel would make a good book. There is to much in their in the way of character development that I don't think would translate very well to the big screen.

No way. It's boring as book, it would be even more boring as movie.

to me it was about how sometimes life comes full circle

I saw it as a lady cheating on her husband while reading the book. I also saw it as a woman who doesn't seem to like her marriage which was driving me crazy the entire book.

I think she was just settling. Since she couldn't have want she actually wanted, she settled. Plus, she trapped herself in the marriage with kids. It would be hard to tear a family apart because you want your happiness. I understand. It's a tough choice. You either stick with your word, stay by your family, or go with your heart.

And Frank was okay. He has his problems but no one is perfect either. I'm glad that he changed in the end.

I'm very interested to see how this book will become a movie.

FYI: It will be a movie. Warner Brothers bought it before it was even written. Supposed to come out sometime in 2013.
