Name: Alexander Nathaniel CarterNicknames: Alex, Carter
Age: Nineteen
Date of Birth: December 27th
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight
Appearance:

From the side.

From the front - partial.
Alexander is a well shaped young man. He has an athletic body, which makes up his figure, considered to be on the thinner side. His hair is a dark brown color that grows in messy waves, always making them looked tousled. His eyes rest at the proportion just right for his angular face. They are a warm brown, not muddy, but a bit deeper than that, with a usually calming effect. Though he is usually clean-shaven, since the end of the world he's given up that habit. A fresh bit of stubble lines his jaw most of the time. He finds that it's much simpler than keeping up with shaving day in and day out. He lacks any bodily piercings or markings, save a scar here or there from his childhood adventures, where he was convinced that he would be the next Indiana Jones or Sherlock Holmes. He dresses plainly, though his clothes are always clean and presentable. A sweatshirt and jeans, or a button down and slacks, nothing too formal. He wasn't one for formal anyway, unlike his mother had been.
Personality: Generally, Alexander tries his best to be an all-around nice person. Since he was young, he's done what he can to help out, and that pressure came upon him even more once his mother passed away and he was left to help his father with tending to the house and other things. Though he can be absentminded due to the many ideas that swirl in his mind - for he is always looking for something he can write about - Alexander tries his best to be sharp and on his toes. As a medical student, he is always on the look out for conditions that could be dangerous. This includes medical conditions, or generally things he feels might be dangerous in terms of what situation he is faced with. From time to time he may become irritated and fall into fits of depression. His mood can change rather easily, and though he might have a friendly disposition, he can quickly be put into a mood.
Likes: A hot cup of tea or coffee, running - though it's not exactly a possibility for him on a boat, a good book - particular the Sherlock Holmes mysteries he'd obsessed over as a child, writing stories or plots that come to his mind, carrying a small notebook wherever he goes, people who are more serious about the task at hand and surviving rather than about the relationships that people get into. And the piano. The piano for him as always had some meaning to him. His mother taught him to play when he was a boy - though he only knows a song or two by now.
Dislikes: Gossip, anything having to do with drama - he'd had enough of that before he graduated high school, humidity, loud metal or screamo music, being out of hot water and having to shower cold, writer's block, and being unable to help someone, especially if the result seems to be rather bleak.
Traits: Alexander often can be found either stowed away in his designated section of the ark with a book or scribbling down his next idea for a story. Or he can be found somewhere close to the ark's medical expert. He's intrigued by medicine and has been since he was a boy. He was studying to be a diagnostician when the apocalypse hit.
History: As mentioned before, Alexander grew up most of his life without his mother. He was only eight when she died, and his memories of her are vague and distant. A large sum of money was inherited by him from her will, which he was forced to keep in his savings, untouched, until the age of eighteen. He lived a normal life, his father never remarried and he had no other siblings. They mourned the loss of his mother up until the day of the ark's departure, when Alexander was forced to say his final goodbyes to his father and head out into a world where he knew not a soul.
Before he was put on the ark, however, we must discuss how exactly he got there. At the age of seventeen he was admitted into a prestigious medical school on scholarships and student loans that were to be paid back later, when he could actually touch the money his mother had left him in her will. He had worked hard in school and took his profession seriously. There was only one girl previously in his life that had managed to draw his attention away from school work - Fleur. Somewhat of a summer love, Fleur was a wealthy girl visiting her cousin - then Alexander's dorm mate - just before they were heading off for summer break. They became very close, and when it was time for her to return to Paris, they remained pen pals for quite awhile, until contact with her suddenly just ended. His mind was forced back into medicine, and back into school with the coming of winter.
The end of the world hit just before his nineteenth birthday. Six days before, to be exact. His funds from his mother had remained untouched, and all his student loans had evaporated - seeing as there was no college to attend any longer. He used the money he'd had in his account to purchase a ticket onto the ark. Being part of the medical community, no matter how young he was, had been enough for him to make his argument that if he paid close attention to the medical professionals on board, he could continue to learn and grow as a doctor himself, and in time become just as useful. Grudgingly, it was agreed that he could be allowed on, but the funds he had left over were not enough for his father, who resigned to stay in his cottage anyway in order to die close by his late wife - in peace.
Trinkets: Other than three leather bound journals and a fresh pack of black ink pens, Alexander didn't bring much. He brought his old collection of Sherlock Holmes stories his mother had given him, letters he had received from Fleur, and a final gift from his father; his wedding band that had both his and his wife's name engraved on it. The ring resides either on a chain around his neck, or on his right ring finger - as not to confuse anyone of his marital status.
Other: I may make Fleur; not as a romantic interest - but just as someone else to have on board. I'm not quite sure yet, though.
Relationships: None, as of yet.
Name: Arabella Lynn HeathNickname: Bells
Age: 15
DOB: April 24th
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Appearance: Bells has long pretty brown hair always straightened to a crisp. Her natural color is brown but faded blond highlights show in her hair. Most people think Bells is too thin, her natural metabolism means she can eat almost as much as she wants and hardly gain a pound. Her hazel eyes are always framed by her circular face and bright white smile just fixed by braces. http://static2.bigstockphoto.com/thum...
Personality: Bells is beautiful but maybe not the most intelligent girl you could meet. Some people call her the dumb blonde mainly because she is held back a year in school and not so smart but she can surf. Surfing is like a passion to Bells reliegion, it is one of the only things she is good at. Bells is very outgoing she has a faded country accent and loves to make conversation. Despite her background Bells has tons of friends more than she can count.
Likes: Bells loves to be around people. Mostly people who listen to her thought and feeling, there are only a few people she can open up to.
Dislikes: Bells hates school mostly because she can't succeed in it.
History: Bells grew up on the bad side of town. Her parents were pretty poor. The family has lived of soup kitchens for as long as Bells can remember. When Bells was 13 she decided to leave her oldest sister Grace was killed in a car accident and their really was no point in sticking around. She worked hard but hardly has a place to stay if she's lucky she will spend the night in a hotel or maybe the streets. She found a safe under her house one day with at least 10,000 dollars she kept it a secret..she saves most the money but she bought a surfboard and taught herself to surf. Somedays she doesn't go to school most of the time because she is surfing. She barely has enough money but when she is in a competition she always gets first or second. She is amazing but no one knows her real life. She was hoping to get a full ride to college through surfing. This was before the disaster of 2012. She was allowed on the ark because of her populartity and surfing status. She hates the ark though. Its's so boring and not to mention she hardly knows anyone she feels alone and spends most of the days on the front deck wishing she could surf.
Trinkets: She always has her favorite pink surfboard she had the day 2012 happened in her hand.
Relationships: She doesn't really know anybody yet
(( better?? ))
Relationships: Wide Open anyone can ask!!
Name: Morgana Autumn
Age: 14
Appearance:

Morgana has brown hair that, when exposed to light, has a bit of red in it. A very thin girl, you would expect her to be starving herself. She doesn't, unless you count her fasting every December. She's quite pale, and freckles dot along her cheekbones and nose. Smiles are rare on this girl, and when they occur, it's a small smirk, as shown in the first picture. She's also a bit short, about 5'2.
Personality: A reserved, quiet girl, Morgana is not one to draw attention to herself. It's not that she's shy, she has just learned to like being invisible. She's very sweet, yet mature at the same time; surviving impending doom will do that to a person. She's learned that life is not something to simply be thrown away. Morgana is a true sweetheart, and it's almost impossible to anger her. When you do anger her, she's quick to forgive. She loves everyone, even those who have treated her unfairly. She's almost the definition of innocence.
Likes: Animals, The Princess Bride, listening to music, hanging out on the decks, letting her imagination run wild, talking with her friends, and to help those who aren't feeling well.
Dislikes: Violence, unkind people, The Twi***** Saga, seeing people in pain, and people who drown their sorrows in alcohol.
History: Coming from a fairly wealthy family, the Autumn family decided to use their money to send their only child on the ark. Tears were shed, pleas were made, but Morgana's parents stood firm. She hasn't been the same since she got on the ark; all of her childhood friends were killed in the floods. Sometimes she wakes up sobbing, screaming the names of her parents or the names of her friends. Before, the charming girl was full of life, first to try some crazy new thing, last to sit still and do nothing. It's like the floods washed her away as well, leaving this girl in her place.
Trinket: Morgana was well loved, leaving her with a few trinkets. She has a pressed rose from her old boyfriend, a silver bracelet from her best friend, and a scrapbook full of pictures that contained her mother's wedding ring. The ring never leaves her finger now, the only thing that truly keeps her together, or so it seems.

Name: Camdus Ezra HaleNicknames: Cam - but only by his eldest brother.
Age: 18
Date of Birth: February 29th
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight
Appearance:

You.

His smiles might not come often, but when they do come, they're only lasting for a short amount of time. He's a tall and slender man, with broad shoulders and an athletic build, who obviously enjoyed physical activity before the end of the world. He's a healthy young man, who has blond waves of hair and a rough jawline, almost square. His eyes are crystal blue and usually laced with concerned for the woman he cares for.
His body has a few markings. He rebelled when he was just seventeen and managed to have his chest tattooed with a cross - something he'd always wanted to have done. Other than that, there are few markings on him, save a scar on his shoulder from that time he and his brother were wrestling as kids and he cut his shoulder open on some antique thing his mother kept in her house, leading to a few stitches and a decade of holding the injury against his eldest brother.
He takes after his late father, according to his mother. She says the only resemblance Camdus holds to her is his personality, which compares to her younger days when she was rebellious and carefree. Now, though, she scolds him for it.
Personality: Camdus is a genuinely good person - no matter what Hazelle says about him. He has a generally curious mind, and simple desires. He never loved being born into his family, but loved how large it was. The fact that he lost so many that were close to him makes him sink into fits of depression - especially when the one person he has left on the face of the planet is his betrothed. The betrothed that absolutely hates him, apparently. He has strong feelings for Hazelle, and is very protective of her. He can even be a little jealous, seeing as she dislikes being around him, which batters his ego.
Likes: Physical activity, having intellectual conversations with those who care about the subject being discussed, a hot meal, being able to talk with his betrothed - something that's proven to be a rarity, architecture. He had planned to become an architect and build his own house when the apocalypse hit.
Dislikes: Sailing - he's never had the stomach for it - which seems to make chasing Hazelle around even worse for him, having nothing to do and no one to talk to, having to chase Hazelle around to know that she's not getting herself into trouble, cooking - seeing as he usually burns everything except the water he boils, and cats.
Traits: Camdus is a musical person. He loved music, has since he was just a boy. Music is a large part of his personality. He plays the piano - as he was taught to by his mother. He also likes drawing, still to this day. He has his sketches for the home he'd wanted to build before with him at all times, just in case that maybe he gets the chance to build it later in life.
History: Camdus grew up in a large family. His mother was a widow, who married rich men and often was divorced for either mistresses or in attempts to recieve the money that she was left by her first husband - Ezra - and the only man she ever loved. Camdus was their third and final child together. His family grew, however, when he was young. His many fathers were either horrid or kind, and he recieved three siblings from three step fathers. Two girls, and one boy.
His family was always wealthy. It always had been, and it continued through his mother's marraiges. She was never one who asked for the divorces; and thus money was given to her often in a settlement. She arranged marraiges with other wealthy families for her children who were old enough, but Camdus and his brother were the only two who actually cared enough to take them into consideration. It was when he was fifteen that he met Hazelle, and he ended up falling stupidly in love with her. At the very least, he would be married to a woman he thought was beautiful and smart, and cared deeply for. But as time went on, he came to realize her resentment for him. He gave up on her ever returning his feelings and instead settled with the idea that he would go through a terrible marraige.
Hazelle's father seemed to take a liking to him when they met, however. His mother refused to believe the myths of the end of the world, but Camdus secretly had his escape planned out. Luckily for him, Hazelle's father came along with a ticket on to ark four and gave him an escape, but also a life with Hazelle. He made a promise that he would do what he could to keep her safe, but couldn't promise he would marry her. With both of their parents out of the picture, he has the ever present feeling that soon enough he will have to realistically offer her a way out of the marraige.
Trinkets: Camdus did not bring much with him when he boarded ark four. He brought with him a suitcase filled with fine clothes, and a lockbocks. The contents of the lockbox include cash, photographs of his family memers and his biological father, his mother's first engagement ring - which he was supposed to give to Hazelle, but hasn't had the heart to even try, and his sketches of the house he'd planned to build.
Other:
Relationships:
Hazelle: His betrothed. The woman he's been hopelessly in love with since his early teenage years. He's given up all hope of ever really sharing his life with her, but feels the need to keep his promise to her father and keep her safe. He's forever chasing around the young woman, who seems to hate him and is always running away.
Name: Riley Ace Marcella Age: 17 and a half
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Riley has light brown shaggy hair, with bright green eyes that can sometimes appear as blue. He is about 6'3'' and has an athletic figure. He has black rimmed glasses that he only wears when reading.
Personality: Riley is shy around girls, and he doesn't really talk to anyone outside his family. When he came aboard the boat, he mostly kept to himself, and didn't like socializing. He is an orphan, because his family was rich, but not rich enough. They could only afford one ticket. Riley is a sweet guy, but when you make him mad-he can hold a grudge. When it comes to relationships, he is very sensitive. Riley still often thinks of his lost girlfriend, and is sometimes haunted by nightmares of the day she died.
At first glance, Riley can appear nerdy and arrogant, but he has potential to be a good friend.
The worst thing anyone could ever do in his eyes, is lie. Riley hates liars, and once someone betrays his trust...he never forgets it. He is very easy going, and is nice to anyone he comes into contact with. Another one of his pet peeves is bullying. He hates violence.
Riley likes music! A life without music is not a life worth living. You'd be surprised-he actually loves classical music.
History: As said above, his family could only afford one ticket. It pained him to leave his family behind, but he respected their wishes and did as he was told. Riley tried to bring his girlfriend with him, but she died on the journey to the arc. He always lived a simple life, his family being rich enough that he never had to worry. He went to private school, and had college plans on a sports scholarship. His life has always revolved around music, that was his escape when there were hard times in his life.
One of the reasons he hates violence, is because his dad used to drink and when he did he got abusive.
Riley was very surprised when his parents decided to give him the ticket...he didn't even think they loved him.
Trinket: A cello. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7159/64...
Other: N/A
RELATIONSHIPS: He has no personal ties...and hasn't had a meaningful conversation with anyone on the boat.
Name: Summer Leah Adams
Nicknames: Sums (by some friends), Adams (by some friends)
Age: 17
Gender: Female

She has a few freckles near her nose, but not a lot.
Her eyes are brown, like chocolate. She has friendly, smiley eyes, just like her mother's.
Her hair is a gingery-color, sometimes considered auburn, and sometimes it depends on the time of the year. It's pin-straight and it falls to maybe a quarter down her back. Usually she keeps in in a plait or two to keep it out of the way and her neck cool.

She's a bit of a ditz sometimes, and she isn't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, but she aims to please and finds great joy out of making people happy. Unfortunately, they did not have the strength to make it all the way there, however, they urged Summer on. Summer has no idea if anyone found the tickets and managed to go on, but in any case, she is orphaned and her family is dead. She's determined to make the best of her life on Ark Four, because her grandparents used so much of their money in an attempt to save her.

Name: Fleur Morange (MOR-au)
Age: Nineteen
DOB: February 23
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Appearance:
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=saoirs...
Before, Fleur was a willowy, slender girl with shiny silver-gold hair and sparkling blue eyes. Now, she's deathly skinny, with transparent, papery skin, and dull eyes.
Personality:
The former Fleur and the one you would meet now are two distinctly different people.
Before, Fleur was a beautiful, loud girl who expressed her opinions. She loved to laugh, flirt, and sing. She was always seen bouncing off the walls, getting everyone to be happy, and constantly had a smile on her face.
Now, Fleur is a ghost of her self. She no longer really laughs, but a reminder of the kind and sweet person she was lingers within her. The Disease contorted her in ways she doesn't really like to talk about, and her biggest regret is Alex.
History:
Fleur grew up in Paris, France, where the hustle and bustle of the city made the young girl peppy and excited. She started working as a model at the age of 17, and while in the States two years after her career took off, decided to pay her dear cousin Francois a visit.
That's when she met Alex. They immediately clicked, and she decided to stay the rest of the summer in the States to be with him. She loved him. However, at the end of the summer, she had to go back to France for a job. They exchanged letters for a while, but then disaster struck.
Fleur had always been a bit selfcounscious (sp?), and had always had a small appetite, but she found herself obsessing over the few pounds that she felt made her "imperfect". Soon, she was dieting. Then came the tiny portions. Then going days without food.
All the while, she had been sending letters to Alex. But when doctors finally diagnosed her with Anorexia nervosa, she was too afraid to tell him. Her letters became infrequent and brief. Finally she stopped sending them.
Her parents poured all their meagre earnings into getting a ticket for Fleur, for a chance to start over. She's been slowly getting better, but she often relapses and gets offtrack with her recovery.
Trinket: Other than a few photos of her parents, all of Alex's letters. She fears that he was unable to get onto the boat, and she reads them often.

Alex: The only person she ever really loved. She couldn't tell him of her disease, and she regrets it constantly.
Name: Varian Maverick (Vair-ee-an)
Age: Seventeen
Gender: Male
Appearance: Varian's skin is a pasty white, and it looks as though he hasn't seen the sun once in his life. It's the only thing he truly hates about his appearance, but he believes being on a boat should do it some good.
Varian is very tall for his age; he's already a bit over six feet. He looks a bit scary, but he's all skin and bones. His long legs help him run fast, but I'm afraid nothing else really benefits from being freakishly tall.
Varian has shaggy black hair that falls over his forehead. It's straight as a twig, and he can't do much with it. Not that he wants to. It's a shame, though, because it covers up some beautiful green eyes, with flecks of white near the pupil.
He has a horrid habit of biting his nails, and he often tries to hide his hands from any potential girlfriends.
Varian is as skinny as a twig, and is very plain in looks, except his eyes. He eats tons of junk food, but never becomes fat. He is grateful for that.
He is seen mostly wearing T-Shirts and jeans, with normal shoes. He's not very trendy, and doesn't have a fashion sense at all, like most boys. He does enjoy hats, and has an extensive collection of baseball hats that went down in the flood.
Personality: Varian is a cheeky boy. He slips in odd comments that you don't catch until it's too late. He's very smart, and he knows it. He often puts adult programmers to shame.
Varian never enjoyed being in the outdoors, and prefers to be inside on the computer.
He hates hipsters. He hates them with a passion. He can't describe them at all, because their way of thinking is so...odd. He sometimes catches himself trying to be a hipster, but he grabs ahold of himself before something awful happens.
He hates religion. He thinks that it was an awful idea for anyone to make any sort of God figure, but he understands that everyone needs someplace of someone to focus their hopes and dreams on. He's firmly Agnostic, and prefers to keep his beliefs to himself rather than spew them out at everyone all at once.
Varian is a hard book to read. For some reason you can never tell what he's thinking at the moment, and there are periods where he simply stares out into space. He's very creative, but most don't think that.
He has another extensive collection besides his hats. Books.
He loves books, and he swears he has spent one third of his life just reading. This is odd, though. Most people who like language arts, also enjoy social studies. Most people who enjoy math, also enjoy science. Varian is reversed. He likes math and language arts, and despises social studies. He doesn't mind science, and finds it fairly useful in certain situations.
Varian hates art. He does enjoy viewing it, it just frustrates him when he attempts to make "art". He has no talent for drawing at all, and it severely bothers him. He prefers to stick to his books.
He's a bit cocky, but he values everyone and treats them equally, unless he hates them. If he hates you, and you have some connection to the internet (such as Facebook) Varian can make your life a living hell.
History: Varian Maverick was born in New York, New York. He and his parents lived in a small flat in the heart of the city, and he enjoyed it very much.
At a young age Varian became very interested in computers. At age ten he hacked and crashed a fairly large writing website, attracting a bit of attention to himself. Though, being great with computers, they never found out who did it.
He knew he couldn't just play around with this, so he helped out his friends and teachers. He would fix computers within a blink of an eye, and would even carry out awful deeds for his closer friends, such as hacking into other people's accounts.
His parents had no knowledge of this, and said as long as he got good grades, they would let him on the computer for as long as he wanted.
Varian soon became a bit famous over the inter webs, and some people e-mailed him asking him to hack certain things for him. He agreed, and would be paid small sums of money for this.
At school he was teased immensely. Having perfect grammar and spelling, along with being a computer geek, didn't suit well in the public school system.
He ignored the teasing, and eventually set up his own gaming website. Right now he's rather please at the fact that all of his bullies have suffered a painful death of drowning.
Varian gained a lot of money from his website as it grew bigger and bigger. By advertisements he made the most income, as well as setting up prime accounts, which cost a dollar each.
He was getting smarter by the second.
After reading some data collected by some internet friends, he completely flipped out. One of his pen pal friends had breached a government e-mail account, and had found out about the world being underwater.
Varian did not doubt this at all, and actually contacted the government about it. They told him in exchange for being quiet, they would give him four tickets to the Ark. He took the tickets.
His parents thanked God he was so smart. But Varian asked them to go on a different Ark. He said he wanted to be on his own for awhile, but that he would call them frequently.
Varian is currently on the Ark, with his single black cat, a tom named Apollo. He thinks of it as an ironic name, considering his cat is black.
Trinket: He's brought along a single box of books, which were mostly gifts from his parents. Most of his "trinkets" are his computer supplies. He's got so many hard drives and CDs, he had to leave a lot behind. He brought his Mac computer, and his Dell. Both were laptops, and he knew it would have to be portable. He's also added his countless amounts of files from old "clients". He's also got tons of computer games to keep him busy.

Name: Allison Renee WellsNicknames: Allie, Al, Wells - used when she was training to be a nurse.
Age: 17
Date of Birth: June 7th
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Appearance:

Allison wells is a skinny thing, given the gift of a naturally small figure, thanks to her mother's side if the family. She has somewhat round face with delicate features, and pale skin that almost always burns in the sun. A few freckles mark her fair complexion, but not many. Her rosy lips are almost always turned up at the corners in a delicate smile, one that she uses to comfort those who she has to tend to.
Her green-blue eyes always have a mischievous glint to them. Long lashes frame the large assets, which give her an ever-innocent look about her. Her ears are pierced three times up the lobe, and once on her left upper cartilage, where a silver ring hands out. Her piercings are usually concealed by the dark curls of hair that tumble to her shoulders. She's been known to dye them from time to time, but for now they remain naturally dark brown.
Aside from other physical attributes, she finds flaws most in her height. She's petite, which she used to be teased quite a bit about. She stands at only about 5'2" barefoot, but hates having to wear heels. She can't do much to make a change to her height, which irritates her.
Personality: Allie was raised to be a respectful person. She knew when to bite her tongue and keep her strong opinions to herself. She's been known to be quite opinionated, but knows the proper situations in which those opinions should be made known, and when they should not. She's been graced with the gift of being maternal, according to her mother, but she's not sure if being maternal is a blessing or a curse. She has a soft spot for the sick, wounded, or children.
She's a very outgoing person when her mother's not around. Allie loves to defend herself, and can become vet sarcastic and fiery in her temper when she has to. She's basically the opposite of the polite, well groomed young woman her mother has brought her up to be. She's expected to be clothed nicely at all times, but she would prefer to be relaxed or even in a pair of scrubs over the skirts a s dresses her mother expects her to wear at all times. She usually disregards her mother's disapproval of her nursing, though.
Likes: Children, tea, reading, taking care of those who need to be tended to, knitting, listening to music - particularly classical, sailing, cooking, and standing at the bow of the boat watching the water for extended periods of time.
Dislikes: Most large animals - particularly elephants - so she steers clear of the Zoology bay, Thunderstorms, death, loud music - I.e; metal/scream, and acting properly around her mother and other wealthy members of the population living on the ark.
Traits: Allie can usually be found in the hospital wing of the ark. She loves hanging around there even if there are no patients. Watching the nurses and doctors that hang around there fascinates her, males her linger longer each time she goes.
History: Allie grew up an only child living in the English country side. She was always pushed to do well with her studies, and decided to use her grades to go into nursing. She was born the only child of Maria Antoinette Wells and Harold Geoffrey Wells. They had a tense marriage and detested each other, but needed a heir to carry on their wealthy bloodline. Which is where Allison came in. She was the only child, spoiled by her mother and respected by her father, who still saw her as more of a bother than as an actual blessing, unlike her mother who had always wanted a daughter.
She put all of her time and effort into furthering her education in order to become a nurse. When she was seven her grandmother fell very ill and she had to go visit her in a hospital several times. She fell head over heels in puppy love with a doctor who was taking care of her and became convinced that they were going to be married, though he was a good twenty years older than her. Her desire to become a nurse stemmed from her childhood crush, but even after she found out he was married and cried her heart out, she was still in love with medicine. Though she was well enough off to never have to work if she married younger and became a stay at home mother, she refused. Nursing was, quite simply, her calling. She needed to take care of people.
In the summer, just after she’d turned seventeen, she enrolled in a few nursing programs before college in order to get her degree before she would if she attended all four years of college. She had the need to help people, and help them now. But of course, with all the end of the world chaos, she never had the chance to finish those courses, let alone start college. She had been almost half way through her final year of high school when the world flooded.
How did she end up on the ark, you ask? Allison’s mother had her ways, and she refused to drown without a fight. Her mother raided the joint trust fun they had made for Allison, along with her own savings, and ran off without telling her father the day before the 21st. She bought both her and Allison tickets, and took her daughter to the ark in order to survive. It was the only way, Allie was told.
Trinkets: Though Allison never fully received her father’s love, she did receive one thing from him; his ring. Not his wedding band, but a simple ring with her family crest inscribed in it. Too big for her slender fingers, Allison keeps it around her neck on a thin silver chain, usually hidden beneath the fabric of her shirts or dresses. Along with the ring, she has her stethoscope that she managed to hide from her mother and bring along with her. It was her first gift from her father at the age of ten that actually meant something to her. She keeps it stowed away from her mother’s prying eyes in case she ever needs to use it.
Other: She's my last one, I hope :3
Relationships:
Mother: Her biological mother who simply had to come along. She was the one who bought Allison the ticket, and basically saved her life. She still insists on acting better than everyone else, and is continuously flaunting her nice clothes and jewels that her father had given her when he perished. Allie holds quite a bit of resentment for her mother.
Name: Bennet Blu
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Appearance:
This fourteen year old shouldn't be messed with, or at least that's what Ben is going for.
A sneer or displeased smile seems to always preoccupy his pale lips. Squinted sea green eyes filled with spite, wreathed with dark lashes and framed by the darkest of all blondes- brown. A mess of sandy dark hair that looks like he always just got out of bed. Features that still have some of their youthful roundess of a boy, they show promise of sharp and chiseled features. Average height, around 5'7'' and extremely athletic.
Personality: Despite Ben's efforts to be that bad boy that no one should mess with, he can't usually pull through hostile. Before the world came crashing down around him, Ben was a nice kid. He had lots of friends, in school and out. Back then he was the guy in the middle row that would raise his hand occasionally, but you could always count on for a smile or joke. Teachers usually liked him because he always tried his hardest, and had a good determination. But after the first natural disaster when his little sister was killed at her school, he changed drastically. Soon he turned into that kid that was sarcastic and synical, bitter inside. Though his old self is constantly breaking through, offering his daily rations to a child, or comforting someone who just broke down. He tries his hardest- or does he?
History: Growing up a little above- average, Bennet was well off but not rich. He went to a nice public school, until he was in the first grade. His mother announced that he was getting a little sister. Cassandra was his best friend since the moment they met. He taught her the secrets of the attic in their house, and she taught him the innocence of an unsoiled mind. She was only eight when a tsunami swept through her elementry school, which his mother was volunteering at that day. His school was evacuated, and he got with his father. His dad is a marine biologist that last minute was snatched to study the sea's inhabitants. They offered him a small storage room for an office, and he was allowed to bring his family. Bennet boarded the ship, and sleeps in the far corner of his 'office' while his dad prefers the chair they gave him.
Trinket: A small piece of paper in which Cassandra had drawn her and Ben standing in front of the ocean. She had aimed for it to be like the picture of them on vacation in the Bahamas.

Name: Annalyse HackettNickname: Ana
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Appearance: http://i44.tinypic.com/15mxlaw.jpg http://www.fashioneditorials.com/wp-c...
Annalyse is told that she doesn't look 18 all of the time. She blames her natural beauty. She has creamy vanilla skin that doesn't tan, no matter how long she stays out in the sun, yet her cheeks turn a light pink when blushing or cold. She has a small nose, light, full pink lips, and blue-gray eyes that look large with her dark eyelashes. She has long, light brown hair that's naturally curly, therefore getting tangled easily.
She hardly shows her white, straight teeth, just lifting the corners of her mouth into a smile, and her eyes will sparkle with happiness. She looks serious most of the time, though.
She's always been petite in size, only 5'4, and skinny. She hopes to grow, embarrassed of her size.
She has a few cuts on her right wrist, and a burn mark that now looks like a birth mark on her right thigh.
Personality: Annalyse is a shy person in general, so she's a very quiet person. She doesn't speak unless spoken to, unless she just has to spit out her own opinion on something. Once you get the chance to know her, though, you'll realize she's a nice and very outgoing. She loves to explore, and isn't afraid of taking risks. It's hard for her to trust people, but she thinks that everyone deserves a chance. She prefers to read, write, and draw in her free time. She's observant, and usually doesn't reveal feelings for people. She is sensitive, but she doesn't act off of her emotions. She's calm and collected, and tries not to let to anyone get to her. She's mastered the art of ignoring others, and has a fast tongue when challenged.
Likes: Art, hot drinks, being outside, listening to instrumental music, reading, writing, and the color red are a few of her favorites.
Dislikes: She's deathly afraid of fire, and tends to avoid sharp objects at all times - due to bad experiences with both. A few others are loudness, bullies, sour candies, and make-up.
Traits: Annalyse is always seen carrying something; rather it's a book, or a sketch pad, you'll know that she's spending the day doing just that. Reading, writing, or etc. She is a friendly girl, and seems to always have that look on her face that means daydreaming.
History: Annalyse lived with her mom until she died. Her mom was half-delusional, so people thought she was crazy most of the time. She moved in with her unloving father, and new almost immediately that she wouldn't fit into his well crafted life. She was the result of a one-night stand, you see. He was incredibly rich, and once he found out about the world coming to an end, he quickly purchased tickets for himself, Annalyse, and his now pregnant wife; Martha. Martha was near her due date, though, and knew she wouldn't make it to the ark. Her dad didn't have the heart to leave her behind, so he stayed behind with her. That was the last time Annalyse saw a loving side of him.
He gave her their two tickets to give to others. She gave one to a hard working guy, Tristian, who didn't have enough money for his own ticket, and the other one to his younger sister, Hailey. She doesn't know if they're on the ark, which worries her.
Trinket: Annalyse brought anything she could wear or carry. So she brought various clothes, and a small pack that has her sketch book, iPod, two of her favorite books, and some of her mom's old jewelry. Her dad gave her nothing.
Other:
RELATIONSHIPS: Her family is dead now. Tristan is a good friend, and she has a very tiny crush on him. She won't act on it, though, her eye on someone else now. Hailey is like a little sister she never had.
Name: Ava Cerise Hoch Known as Xyza only by her best friend on board
Age: Seventeen
*DOB- July tenth
Gender: Female
*Orientation- Straight
Appearance: A well-rounded, baby-like face gives Ava the impression of a fourteen-year-old girl rather than a seventeen-year-old. And being so short at 5'3 doesn't help her case much.
INky-black tressles thick as a lion's mane spill down Ava's back in potentailly disasterous ringlets. No matter how many hours she spends each morning primping her hair to perfection, the salty wet winds always give her curls a more natural-looking dissary. If she didn't love the ocean so much, Ava is sure she would be sucked inside, sulking with the other wealthy women for sake of her looks. It's what her mother would have done.
Eyes wide and usua;;y unattended to, save for balls or dinnrs are a deep dark brown. MOst can hardly tell the difference between irises and pupi; Ava's eyes are so dark and rich. Most often than not, her sparse but long eyelashes are tangled together, casting a thick-looking darkness to fringe her eyes.
{Style of Clothes}: Raised by her French mother, who herself had been brought up in the ways of the VIctorian era, Ava has no other daytime clothes than her low-cut, hoopskirt dresses her mother had her in since the age of twelve. She would never have minded wearing comfortable jeans and a baggy t-shirt, though.
Her mother would hate even this dress, no matter how closely it resembles the others.

Let's not and say we did.
A light ball gown
Personality:Don't let the ruffle and lace fool you- this girl is no damsel. Ava is very independant who walks alone on the boat with her chin held high.
Spunky and rebellious acts known widely on the ship, most of the prim girls turn their noses up at Ava, and many choose to ignore her. So since the boarding, Ava has leaned towards the males for friendship. A lot of them like that she'll take part in pranks and fiilish acts, and are grateful when she stands up and defends her friends when they are sought out for repremanding.
With a barbed-tongue and head filled with witty vomments, not even the biggest b/tch on board usually gets into fights with this hot-headed diva. Those who do almost alwasy head for the most obvious blow- her young and fragile looks. After many years, the comments just roll off her like the material of her dresses. She has the capability of countering her opponents. It's easy to get the dirt on other sailors when Ava is always amongst gossipers.
Not that Ava is one to start rumors- she usua;;y scolds her friends when the gossip starts, but she still listens, she's no idiot and knows that out of everyone on the ship, the stagg knows more than the boarders. She's grown fond of several staff members, respecting them for being able to put up with some of the people on the ship. She can usually be found in the kitchens with staff if not on deck.
Likes~ The sea. Even though she's constantly surrounded by it, she'll never get over its glassy look and feel of hte winds.
The warm, friendly feeling of hte kitchen always brings a smile to Ava's face. She's taken a joy in helping prepare meals. It gives her a chance to spit in enemy's food.
Anything rebellious and stupid. Though Ava loves the look of the fancy Victorian dresses, she doesn't want anyone thinking they can hold her back. The adrenaline rush she gets when she knows she's done soemthing outlandish is like a natural high.
A good verbal debate every once in a while is enjoyable for Ava. But just enough to revive her smart ass reputation.
Dislikes~ The sort of wealthy, stuck u snobs who flaunt thier wealth woth an ego bigger than thier fortune reall get under Ava's skin. BUt what she hates most would be how well she can act like the snobs she despises so much.
Constantly being in the company of the staff, Ava's grown a tad protective over those who weren't wealthy enough to buy thier own ticket on the ark. Seeing hem shot down and disrespected makes her blood boil.
Ava seems to have a minor case of clautstrophobia, for she hates being restrained. When her punihsments involve being trapped in her room, Ava and her frineds have a plan. If you see her sneaking towards her cabin in nothing but a slip, she snuck out through her porthole.
History: Ava lived in France with her stay-at-home mother and German father who was a Greek Professor at the college a few minutes away from their home (which would explain her name). Before school had begun, Ava's paretns taught her many things. Her mother was finatic about manners, and taught her daughter everything her mother had taugt her and more. Ava knew which forks were for which types of food before she could count to five. Her father taught her how to have fun, and premoted her wit.
At night, there would be no flimsy fairy tales like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty for thier strong-headed little girl. Ava's father thought that she was more capable of reading something more in-depth So her bedtime storeis where chapters or half chapters from her father's favorite literature. At first it was only Greek mythology, but Ava quickly ate at them. There was soon nothing else to read except her father's personal literature. Stories of horror such as The Stand and The Shining.
Ava's mother was raged with the idea. That sort of content was not suitable for a girl at her age or her manner. But Bryce was certain ir would be good for her. So she began to read IT. By the time of 2012, Ava practically ahd the book memorised.
HEr parents had been saving up money for thier daughter's college. When the end of the world came, they used the money for her ticket, but there wasn't enough fot her parents as well. Name: Gemma Rose Hathaway Nicknames: Gem, or Rose [But mainly Gem]
Age: 16
DOB: October 8
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Appearance: Gemma has always been tall for her age (5'11”), unfortunately. She has always been awkwardly lanky instead of being limber and slender. Though, her height gives her the disadvantage of always being clumsy, never able to do much other than trip over her own two feet every few feet she walked or ran. As she was tall, she also had big feet to make it even worse. Two big left feet, well, not literally, but you know...
Gemma's hair falls a little below her shoulders, and is normally between straight and wavy, though always frizzy. People often mistake her hair to be red, but it more of a carrot-orange than anything else. Though, this only earned her the nickname ‘Carrot Top’- how original, right? There have been many days where she has wanted to change her hair color-dye it black or even just brown-but in a way, being a redhead makes her feel special. Odd, yes, but she can’t help it.
Unfortunately, she is pale. It almost looks as if she never has seen the light of day, which is untrue. She has just lived in England all her life, which gave her an excuse for her pale face. Though, when the entire family relocated to America, her pale face only earned her more nicknames in high school, such as ‘Strawberry’ because when she’s embarrassed, her entire face turns red.

Oooh, sneaky.

Okay you have my attention. Now what?

Nope, not happening.
Personality: Having been teased and picked on most of her life, Gemma doesn't really talk to other people. Though, once you get her talking, she will never stop chattering away. Or laughing. Or spouting random facts. However, she only spouts random facts when she feels nervous that leads to embarrassment, which is often. She can't help it. Her mouth opens and out comes, “There are over two hundred slang terms for marijuana in the popular vernacular. Some of the more common nicknames include pot, grass, weed, hash, and ganja.” Or something along those lines. No one in her family knows why she does, but it can be entertaining, but it can also get annoying quickly.
Even though she may look tough on the outside, Gemma is pretty broken up on in the inside. From the constant teasing, then the dramatic change from England to America, and finally her brother being sent off to war; it is surprising she hasn’t opted out. Though, she strongly believes in the saying ‘What doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger’ or something along those lines.
Likes: Random facts. Oddly enough, strawberries. Happy, upbeat music even if she can't dance well. Books with happy, sappy endings and romantic comedies- even though she can always predict the endings.
Dislikes: Mean people. Her frizzy, curly hair. The nickname 'strawberry.' Heavy metal and 'screamo' music.
Traits: Gemma loves to learn new things. If she doesn't know how to do it, she will do anything just to at least try it once. She even goes as far as literally begging on her knees. However, if she doesn't like it or gets bored of it, she will leave it half-done.
History: Gemma had been born in England, and all her friends had been born there. It was her homeland, which had made it ever harder for her when she had been uprooted from the UK and planted in the US. The move had made her bitter and uncooperative with her parents. Her mother was a stay at home mother, while her was a simple man with a job that had forced him to travel a lot. Though, his company was the one that had relocated him and his family, but Gemma had only blamed him.
What had been worse than the move was the fact that her brother had left to offer his services to the military. With him gone, there was no one Gemma could turn to talk to; she couldn’t even talk to her old friends since they were all back in England and she was forever angry with her own parents. To top it off, she had no friends in her new school. So, she was a bit of a loner.
However, her brother being in the military was what had saved her from the end of the world. He had learned about the whole ‘2012’ and managed to get only two tickets. Not enough to save his entire family, which had made it hard for him to decide which two to save. Of course, Gemma’s brother had offered both tickets, including his own to his sister and parents, making them to decide. But, when the day came, the decision had been made for them when their parent’s hadn’t survived the journey from America to China, to where the boats were.
Trinket: Gemma had brought her dog on board with her. Well, she more like sneaked it on board in her backpack. It was a teacup puppy, a Pomeranian. The dog was something she had gotten on her birthday a few months before the end of the world came crashing down on her. It was not exactly a 'trinket,' but it was the only thing she had been able to keep safe throughout the long journey from England to China.
Moreover, Rosie, her puppy, was whom she shared her secrets with, which may sound silly. However, her brother was always busy, and all her friends were dead, forcing her to turn to her puppy, whose only response to her was by barking and whimpering.

Name: Elliott A. HolmesNicknames: Ellie, only affectionately , Holmes.
Age: Nineteen
Date of Birth: October 28th
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight
Appearance:

Elliott is a tall, lean boy. Small as he may appear, he's fairly strong and usually keeps up his physical appearance. He has dark brown hair that's cut short and always looks the same, a slicked-back combing through which his fingers were dragged. His eyes are a deep, earthy green that can always be found behind a pair of dark black glasses frames. He is always, always clean shaven; he prefers it to having any sort of beard or facial hair.
In terms of his dress, Elliott has a sort of personal style. He wears the same fitting jeans and black converse with a button down shirt or a plaid shirt that hangs open over a graphic tee. Maybe one and awhile he'll dress himself up, but it hardly happens around the ark. Around his neck he wears a silver chain with an old dog tag hanging off of it. It's always pressed against his chest, the name kept close to his heart at all times.
As far as physical marks go, he has one or two. There are a few deep scratches on his upper right shoulder from when his mother was teaching him to ride a bike and he fell onto a bottle, which broke on impact and embedded itself into his arm. He hardly remembers it, though. On his wrist he has a simple tattoo of a black bird, a tribute to his favorite poem of all time.
Personality:
Generally speaking, Elliott is a shy guy. He tends to be sensitive to how other people feel. He can notice when they're being pushed on something that they don't want to talk about. Most of the time he won't push them on it, either, unless he feels it's seriously effecting their judgement. He likes to let people work things out for themselves, rather than having to do it for them. He does have a soft spot for children, though. Particularly his little sister, Olivia. He can be seriously paternal and protective of those he cares about, if they make a serious impression upon him.
Elliott prefers being alone to being around people. Particularly when he's reading. He loves finding secluded spots where he can be alone and either read or just lose himself in his thoughts. It's easier for him to be alone. Sometimes, though, he'll get a spurt of curiosity and go about with his camera, wanting to document what's going on through photos and a large, empty leather-bound journal that he bought for that reason.
Likes: Reading alone in random places on the ark, Swimming, Dancing, Drinking lots of coffee or tea, Large animals, Wandering around the ship and taking pictures of the passengers, and Warm nights where he can read outside with a flashlight.
Dislikes: The idea of running out of books to read, Most seafood, Storms while at sea - they make him feel sea sick, Being bothered while he's reading, and blood or hospitals.
Traits: Elliott can usually be found as far away from the infirmary as possible. He likes to take his books all over the ship - particularly the zoology bay - but can never be near a place so close to a hospital unless in a dire emergency. He usually disregards any illnesses or injuries of his own because of his fear of hospitals.
History:
Elliott was born to a military family. His father and uncles and grandfathers were all war heroes. It was no surprise when Elliott's father was called back by the army when Elliot was five. He lived alone with his mother until he was about eight, when his grandmother moved in with them in an attempt to keep the family peace. He had a fairly normal childhood, aside from a missing dad, and his father came back every time he could to see his son.
Around the time Elliott was fourteen, his mother announced her pregnancy. Her and her husband had conceived on one of his visits, and she went almost five months trying to hide it from her son. The baby had come at an inopportune time, she'd found out about the baby two weeks before she found out about her husband's death. The baby, though, was a shred of hope in a time of depression for Elliott. He was happy, hoping for a little brother, but along came little Olivia, his fair-haired, dark-eyed baby sister with a rosy complexion. She was a sweet, happy baby that grew on Elliott. He tried to hide the fact that he was so in love with the child for awhile, but eventually the rugrat grew on him. Around the age of fifteen Elliott got a job and began going out of his way to spoil the sweet girl. He loved his little sister.
Elliott took the role of a father figure for his little sister. He sheltered her from the rumors of the end of the world. He did, however, invest a good amount of his money in buying a ticket for the infamous ark that was constructed in order to keep certain humans safe. He took a year off before college and kept working full days, earning more and more until he was finally able to buy a ticket - including the money made from his father's will when he turned eighteen. His mother also invested in a ticket for little Olivia, who was five at the time, but he has yet to find out if she ended up on the ark. In the last day before the end of the world, Elliott had gone early to get to the ark.
Trinkets: With him, Elliott carries two particular items. One of them being the silver dog tags of his father. They were found upon identifying his body after a mission gone wrong when Elliott was fourteen. The man who brought them home was Elliott's almost uncle, his father's best friend of over twenty years. He knelt down and put them around Elliott's neck, both of them crying and holding each other. Though he never really knew his father, for he was always off fighting, Elliott still had the greatest respect for him. He keeps the tags tucked into his shirt.
Other than that, he also has an old film camera, with loads of film. A Polaroid, one that spits the pictures right out at you instead of making you have to develop them. He of course has a digital camera, but he prefers his Polaroid because of the way it manipulates the pictures and gives you the product right away. He had a box of old Polaroids from before the end of the world, and he keeps his old and new ones together.
Other: I was thinking of having his little five year old sister be on the ship, if anyone wanted her, if not I'll probably just not use the idea.
Relationships: None, as of yet. Possibly his younger sister Olivia.

people often mistaken her to be 17 and she uses it to her advantage. She often wears jeans, converse and an old sweater. She wears a chain with her mother's engagement ring around her neck. She is 5' 3" and athletic.
Personality: Katerina was the girl in the corner who read a novel in the 7th grade. Now on the ark, she is a daring and intelligent individual. She likes reading and she especially misses the Broadway musicals. Katerina never really likes assosiating with people she observes to be mean or stupid and she never really liked adults, even in 2012. She is very witty and always tries to win an argument if she gets in one. Katerina is very tomboyish and doesnt like to be too feminine. She is (deep down) a romantic and she is secretly drawn to bad boys.
History: Katerina was in the janitor's closet, skipping math to read The Tragedy of a Girl Named Hamlet by Erin Dionne. She heard the alarms go off and sprinted out of the building. When Katerina got to her house, it was gone. No dirt, no driveway, nothing. Only a piece of yellowed paper with two words: "Kitty Kat." Tears rolled down her face as she read her father's nickname for her on the paper. Katerina saw the notice for the ark, but since she and her father had been on the brink of poverty, Katerina knew they wouldn't let her on. After a month of being a stowaway to get to China, Katerina snuck onto the ark.

Can you help? What grammar mistakes need to be fixed?
Name: Katelyn Haruko (Ha-roo-ko)Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Like my hair? Or is it my eyes?
She changes hairstyles from time to time, sometimes she likes wearing a ponytail and sometimes she'll cover her forehead with the front of her hair. Her preferred outfit is a white shirt or blouse with light jeans and bright shoes.
Personality: A soft-spoken girl filled to the brim with smiles and laughter, Katelyn will laugh at nearly any joke thrown at her, and some people think that humor is a foreign concept to her. Despite her low sense of humor, she has shown to be shy and sometimes unwilling to meet or even greet strangers. However, she has an amazing ability to manage multiple tasks and has a quick brain as well.
Likes: Spicy foods, fruits, carrots.
Dislikes: Crowds, celery, anything that's too tight to wear.
History: Born from a Korean woman and a Japanese man, her mother and father moved to America soon after Kate was born. Her father being the boss and founder of an enormous company that made quality plastic for outdoor activities, Katelyn's family flourished in America's economy and pretty much had everything they needed and more. Much more. But after the Earth flooded and business came crashing down, Katelyn's family had just enough money to buy two tickets, thanks to Katelyn's dear friend, Jessica.
Jessica had one ticket, which her parents had bought before they had committed suicide by drowning themselves. Jessica stated that she didn't want Katelyn to be without family like she was, and palmed her ticket and a locket into her hands, saying that she was going to join her parents.
As she returned home, she explained why she had the ticket to her parents, stopping frequently to weep over her lost friend. As soon as she had finished, her father stood, and walked into his room, closing the door silently behind him. Kate's mother ran to Kate's room, hastily packing things while trying in vain not to cry. After sharing what seemed like an hour to cry together, Kate's father cleared his throat, holding something in his hand. He knelt by Katelyn, pouring a handmade bracelet with her name into her hands. "Remember" was all he said. With a final hug, her father left the room.
Now, she is on-board Ark Four with her mother, wondering what will be laid out in front of them.
Trinket: A golden locket with the words 親友 carved on the back. The picture within the locket are of Jessica and Katelyn, on Katelyn's 14th birthday.
A bracelet, with the sentence 春子供は私の誇りと喜びです (Spring child is my pride and joy) spelled with square, pink beads and white characters.
Other: Her surname, Haruko, is a name she picked herself after her 14th birthday.

Blond hair is often braided around the crown of her head, blue eyes cast down in piety. Pink lips frequently portray a smirk if she likes you, but if not, only a disaproving glance. Slender body and tiny waist are decorated by long, nipped-at-the-waist dresses.
Personality: Hazelle tries her best to appear as prim and proper as her parents would've liked. Holier-than-thou would be a good way to describe the heiress, especially when stuck with Camdus. However, modest façade hides a bubbly girl who loves to just let loose and have fun.
Likes~ A good cup of cocoa, a cute boy, friends, parties, getting away from Cadmus
Dislikes~ When she can't get away from Cadmus, pretending to be proper
Traits~ You'll often find Hazelle running from her betrothed, walking around the Ark.
History:
Hazelle was the first and only child born to Sir Thomas Smith and Ebony Smith. Frail and sickly as a child, she was fretted over and given anything she wanted on a whim. Her life was one of rich pastries, lavish parties, and frequent attention.
Eventually, the time came that her family decided that the little heiress should become betrothed. As they were the richest of the rich, and just anyone wouldn't do at all, it was decided that Camdus Hale, youngest son of the famous Ezra Hale, would suffice.
At thirteen, Hazelle was certainly not ready to even think about boys other than icky. So, of course, she didn't take a liking to Cadmus, though he was a nice enough boy.
Though Hazelle protested that it was an old, silly custom, her family went through with the betrothal. And that was that. Hazelle thought that she wouldn't have to deal with Cadmus until she was much older.
Not the case. When the world changed, Thomas and Ebony paid the large amount of money for Hazelle to board the ark, with Cadmus. They could only afford her ticket, and so it was decided. She would go, and they would stay.
Many tears were shed, but to no avail. Eventually, Hazelle gave in. Waving farewells, she went into the Ark, her fate sealed.
Trinket: Besides the rich clothes that she brought with her, Hazelle wears a large, intricate locket with pictures of her parents in it.
