It's good to start thinking. I grew up & went to College on the West Coast but I'm sure that several East Coasters can give you some good opinions on the colleges you picked!
AndrewWhat are you thinking of majoring in?
I don't know anything about above colleges except for the fact that I've been to Elmira and it's pretty.
You must have had some criteria that narrowed your choices down to these. Curious to know what that is....
I didn't do much college shopping.
I knew I wanted to major in business, knew it had to be a SUNY school so I chose Oswego.
Simple as that
I haven't visted any of the colleges you mentioned. I stayed within my state. My suggestion though is do an overnight stay at your top choices so you can get a feel for campus life.
Thank all of you and I am intrested in hearing more about what you guys think.Kellie...I want to major in History and English. Double major thing. I chose these becasue they had the programs I wanted, tehy were close (ish) to family. And all and all I feel like they fit me well.
It's good that you already have an idea of what you want to do and picked colleges accordingly. That's a good start. I just went to the state school in my hometown. Had good enough art department so I stuck it out there. So I can't give you much of an opinion on your own choices. But good luck where ever you end up at! Take advantage of your visit days if you get them. ;)
I lived in the Northern Virginia area. George Mason has an excellent reputation for the majors you're considering. I've never heard anything negative about the school. Good luck!
Thank you all and keep them coming please. I want to make the right decision and hearing some of your views are really important to me.
I wound up going to my college because it was close to home, my high school boyfriend's mom taught there and really pushed for me to go there, and they gave me enough scholarships and grants so that I didn't have to take out any loans. I regret it though. I didn't know what I wanted to do (still don't 10 years later), but none of those are a good reason for going to a school. Spend some time on the campuses and see how they feel to you. I never found my place at my college, so I just hurried through and left and I've never been back.
No Kellie, I haven't gotten the chance to visit any of them yet, but I am setting up times to go and visit each. Over Spring Break and this coming summer, I plan to go to a couple.
Excellent Andrew.I think you will know once you see it..you will know exactly which school you want to go to.
Nah!Just kidding.
Seriously, you have your schools narrowed down for one reason or another.
I think it's important to visit them.
Once you get on campus and see the sights, something might hit you right and you will say to yourself, "This is the school I want to go to"
Thanks Kellie I really appreciate it. (If you haven't noticed I'm anal about my future. My dad thinks he has it all planned out, and I'm going to prove him wrong)
