So what's going on? Did everyone make posting their New Year's resolution? I'll make a New Year's prediction: Within a week, we'll be back to a couple posts a day as usual.

Agreed, Barry, although I don't know how ya'll are reading so fast. I'm just at Chapter 7, and that's with listening.

Dan I hope we can keep up the pace a bit for longer, 11/22/63 is helping for sure.Carol I read 11/22/63 from 11/26 to 12/15 so took me three weeks. Sorry I got such a head start. DD galloped ahead of me while I was reading it so l know how you feel. :)

I got the king book on my nook but not sure when I'll fit it in. I got myself in too many book challenges this year. Even though the last book isn't covered by any of them or the 2 books I just got from the library. Any ideas I need to read a book with a bug/or insect on the cover and I don't think it can count if I kill the bug/insect on the book before hand. and I was in B&N today and nothing jumped out at me either. I think that is going to be a hard thing to find. I mostly got everything else covered from books on my shelf.
I was around 2500 unread books when I started working the shelves, I am down closer to 200 now and still making progress.
DJ, did you ever read The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd? I saw the movie based on the book and it was good. And of course there is a bee on the cover of the book.Donnajo wrote: "I got the king book on my nook but not sure when I'll fit it in. I got myself in too many book challenges this year. I think a couple of Laurie R King books in the Mary Russell series have bees on the cover too Beekeeping for Beginners
Carol read The secret life of beesI'll have to check the laurie R king books Ann. I saw one cozy series yesterday with bees but the main cover didn't have any but on the top cover it had a small one. but I didn't want to buy just because. but I'll check that series in the library.
Little by little I'm been adding books to my GRs bookcase. I already put added all the ones that are in both my nightstands. don't know which ones I'll do next. not saying I'm going to do all my unread books but I figured anything that is already on the bookcase makes things easier.
1) post here more regularly 2) Continue to find ways to relax/ de-stress 3) get caught up with more of my favorite series, particularly Lee Child, Michael Connelly and Anne Perry.
Good plan, Wiley! We could all use these as guides! Wiley wrote: "1) post here more regularly 2) Continue to find ways to relax/ de-stress 3) get caught up with more of my favorite series, particularly Lee Child, Michael Connelly and Anne Perry."
Wiley, we'll be glad to "see" more of you here! and I can get behind your second resolution too. Fictfact.com has helped me with this considerably.Wiley wrote: "1) post here more regularly 2) Continue to find ways to relax/ de-stress 3) get caught up with more of my favorite series, particularly Lee Child, Michael Connelly and Anne Perry."
and fictfact.com has made me feel even more overbooked! I just saw the new Susan Wittig Albert Cat's Claw and new RWW Chasing Midnight are coming up in March!
speaking of New Year's resolutions... related to books; I have determined to read more Kindle titles and to use audio books on portable devices as an encouragement to get up and walk more. The vast array of audio titles that can be burned or streamed from audible.com or the library's Overdrive site to be played on my Nano or Sansa Clip+ or picked up from the library in Playaway form is exhilarating, yet daunting. At least when I discovered just now that my library hold of The Jaguar on audio CD is actually abridged (grrr) I can turn to Overdrive to get in line for the unabridged to download eventually when I get my turn. Charlie Hood will hopefully get me up and walking when the weather stops being rainy!

Friday, I wore a t-shirt, yesterday, t-shirt and zip up sweat shirt along with slacks. That's all I needed. Sunday, the winds really picked up and we had a dust storm. Sand from west Texas blew thru here. A lot better weather than last year, when Arlington hosted the Super Bowl with all that ice and snow.
I'm in Wisconsin, way up north, slowly being buried by the lake effect snow. What is a T shirt? I've forgotten.

Ice would be a better description. It has snowed every day, but not accumulated much. The cold so far is no worse (or better) than New England. My flight in was due 5 PM, actually arrived 4 AM due to iced runways. I was happy to get here at all.I'm 25 miles east of Green Bay, and most everything is closed for the off-season, good for both working and reading, since there is not much else to do.
Good for you, Lorraine! That is a great accomplishment and now you have the momentum going, glad the mild weather is letting you have better conditions to walk. We have been rather rainy, but I can't use that as an excuse. Brakedrum wrote: "I've been walking 45 minutes every day since the second week of January.
