Time for the end of April check-in! I am currently at 36 books (almost 37) towards my goal of 100. I have been fluctuating between three and four books ahead of my goal.

Wow, I can't believe the year is half over already. Thanks to not having a computer for half the month of June, I am way ahead of my goal of 100 -- I have already completed 20 books for June alone, with one more in progress. I usually average about two books a week.

I currently have 67/100 completed. That's 18 books ahead. Of course, July is going to cut into that surplus big time, between Concerts on the Square every Wednesday, Fourth of July and moving at end of the month.

How's everyone else doing with their goal?

I increased my goal to the total I read last year. Yup, got the Kindle last November and am so far ahead I know it has to be because of the Kindle. Have to see how many I end up reading this year.

I'm currently 6 books ahead - I've dropped behind a bit as we've bought some property to extend our back garden and have been diligently working away at it - and then decided to repaint the living/kitchen area. But my July books are on the way and I'm ready to do some catching up! :)

Linda: Yes, those longer books do tend to take up a chunk of time--some of them more than others.

Checking in early for this month, as I am moving Sunday and won't have home internet for a couple days. I am currently 78/100 -- only 22 to go for this year (and 21 ahead of schedule). Wow! It's nice to have such a huge lead right now, since August could be a bit iffy.

I am at 64 books out of a goal of 100, so I'm 6 books ahead at this point.

The first time I added them up, I did so incorrectly and thought I was behind! With the first couple of months having totals of 14 books, I didn't see how I'd gotten so far behind. Whew!

I'm eight books behind :( right now. But I've been reading some slow moving tomes: Ulysses (James Joyce); Infinite Jest (David Foster Wallace); Don Quixote; and others like those. They've taken me a little bit longer to get through. I suppose it's more important that I'm reading the books I want to read than actually meeting some arbitrary numerical goal. But maybe it's time to switch to a few shorter books. :)
