Finished up the Nightwalker series with
and
what a great wrap up of a good series. Also read
which wasn't that great for me. Wrapping up
and starting
for challenges.

was great. I liked seeing more development of the relationship between the different characters.Over the weekend I read
and was sadly disappointed in the final installment of the Nightside series. I just wasn't as fun and exciting and gruesome as the otheres. But I am almost done with
and, as usual with Jim Butcher, I am loving it!
So I'm starting
which I'm super excited about because this trilogy has been so amazing so far.I'm also starting
and the beginning is once again a little slow to get started. Are all of the books in the series like this?

I don't really like the main character or her romantic interest, but the ending of the first book blew me away and I had to read the next one. That just kept happening until I ended up almost finished with the series. There are some good secondary characters that I really like (I don't think you've met Shame yet), so that keeps me going. Plus, Devon Monk is really good at changing things up. I can remember clearly which book is which just because she never repeated herself and there are clear story arcs. I used to live in Portland, OR so that makes it even more interesting to me. I do think that most of the action usually happens towards the end of the books. I think... Hopefully, that helps.

a..."Thanks Jean that helps a lot. I'm not usually a patient person, but if they are all like book 1 in the pacing, then I can work through it. I like the story enough and am interested in reading more about Allie and her world. I also love the setting. I'm from Seattle and have been to Portland many times. I always love when I know the place where the book takes place.

because it was set in Portland. Devon Monk does a good job of managing the story arcs. There's a large story arc for the whole series (9 books), and then mini story arcs over 3 books each (i.e., books 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9). She's done some pretty bold things with her characters. Just wait until you get to the end of
. There's a pretty big "WHAT?!!" moment. Have you read
? It's set in Seattle. I liked it. It took me a bit to connect with the main character, but it had grabbed me by the end.
I haven't read
yet, but it's on my TBR list. Love that its set in Seattle. I think I'll have to move it up. Thanks. I tried the Greywalker series by Kat Richardson cause it's set in Seattle and really could not get into it which bummed me out.
The Greywalker series is on my TBR list too. I'm not sure I could stick with it until the 3rd book, Valerie. I'll still try it one of these days...
I couldn't get through the first book in the Greywalker series either. The medical aspect of it was hard for me to swallow.
A friend of mine really recommended the Greywalker series and I was hard up for books at the time (long before I found Goodreads) so I've read I believe the first 4 and I won't go any further.

In the last 2 books she really look into her past which is quite entertaining. The mysteries are darker too and more personal to her so I am hooked...but it took 3 books to get there. It was reading challenges that got me to read them...some letters for yearly challenges can be hard to find.

Thanks Valerie! I compared our books and and we seem to rate quite similar. I might have to give this series a try again then.

I thought it didn't come out until the end of March. I'm dying to read it!!!!
Jenne, you are right. I have an review copy that I received for free on netgalley.com in exchange for a review. :)

Yes! There are a few great threads in netgalley in this groups. I think the section in around the WWW. There are 2 or 3 threads. Check them out, there is info on signing up and preparing your bio.
Recently read
and today I read
which I'd recommend for Maria V. Snyder and Graceling fans. All different genres: historical romance, post-apocalyptic and fantasy, respectively.
Finished
and
as a quick filler read. Working on
.Finished a re-listen of
and
on audio and loved it. Jenks is my little hero and he can move his pixie family to my garden anytime.

All this talk about the Hollows series almost makes me want to try them again. I got all the way through to
and I couldn't finish it. Because of that I haven't read any of the ones that came after it.
Just finished
. It was amazing! And now I have no clue what to read next.... *sighs* It's gonna be a book for the 'demons' shelf, but I can't choose after that awesomeness.
Here are my choices.... Any opinions?

sooo many things happen in that one! 6star read for sure.
Haha thanks everyone! You're all soo great! (I totally know you'd say Magic Slays, Sandra.)I thought about it, and I decided to go with
. Gonna save Magic Slays for later, in case I get in a reading slump or something.:-D
Alyssa wrote: "Haha thanks everyone! You're all soo great! (I totally know you'd say Magic Slays, Sandra.)I thought about it, and I decided to go with

: P
Enjoy!
Started
. It had been sitting on my TBR pile for a while now but I whished I had started it sooner. I like the virus angle and the fact that the shifters are just animals needing to be caged with no 'higher' brain function.
I definitely prefer Curran over Barrons. Yeah, Barrons is fascinating and raw sex, but he is a sociopath! LOL. I did love the Fever series though, straight 5 stars for me in all the books. Kate Daniels is less an emotional read for me, but I like the series so much better than Fever.I just finished
and it was FREAKING amazing. I think it is the best Alpha & Omega book yet. Now I can go back and finish
which I have been dying to return to.
Regina, I'm definitely a Curran girlie :DAnd so jealous you got to read Fair Game. Just waiting impatiently for my copy. LOL
Sandra, it is so good. It is a meaty book too, which is nice. Briggs pushed the story arc forward -- and the world. Less than 2 days until it is out!
Well, thanks to the heads-up from Regina, I'm listening to
and then reading
over the next two days, so I won't have a spoiler for
- which I splurged on and ordered in hardback b/c I
Lisa Kay, even though I received an ARC I am still buying Fair Game - the audio. THAT is how good it is! Darn! I want to read it again, now. :) I love your images, you always have the best ones. :) It kind sucks though, that you have to use up all the Briggs goodness for 2-3 days. It is for a good cause though!
