I'm about halfway through
and still not sure how I feel about it. Although, it has sucked me in enough that I had to make myself put it down to go to sleep last night.
Decided to give a go to Immortals After Dark series again (as I didn't like the first book when I tried it sometime ago) and I'm so damn curious about Lothaire! On
right now!
@Dawn: Darkness rising is continuation of the world she created for Riley Jenson Guardian series. The first book was ok, like 3.5 stars maybe. Risa has little battle training so it's not fair to expect a kick-ass heroine like Riley (even if I did). The battle is taking place in another plain so to speak so there is less cool spy gadgets from the Directorate and change of locale. It felt a bit like setting the stage, the intrigue and conspiracy less thick so I am hoping that Darkness Rising evolves more. I'm a bit too much of a half empty cup mentality so it was not Keri Arthur's best offering.
Finished
and
. Working on
and reading
for BSB. 2012 is starting off very PNRish... Happy to have discovered these re-reads on iTunes,
was really really good in audio.
Enjoy Camp Hell, Regina, that one's my favourite.Read
which is disturbing, probably more so if you're a mother.
was a mix of Buffy, X-Men and Blade with a very sad ending.I'm in need of a happy ending after those sad books.
Thanks Ames, I am trying to savor this series! Although I hear JCP is writing a PsyCop book right now.
I finished
which I enjoyed, but now kind of wished I had waited until the next one was out.And I finished
. I'll admit to some tears near the end, but never fear, it all works out and I was happy with how the book ended.
Paris wrote: "Oh my god...so I just finished
because I couldn't put it down. Now I'm kinda mad I didn't read it as soon as I finished Hard Bitten. Holy cow. Thanks Becky and Alyssa..."Yeah....:) I knew you'd feel that way. I just couldn't wait. I read it as soon as I could download it to my kindle.
I just finished
, which was sadly exactly what many of the reviews sad it was, a book really, really similar to Twilight.I am now trying to read two books
I DNF'd that were given to me to read as a challenge for February. So far, I'm liking them better this time around.
I enjoyed Ill Wind when I read it. It took me 2 years to get to it and then I was surprised at how long I let it sit, b/c I liked it so much more than I expected to.
Regina wrote: "I enjoyed Ill Wind when I read it. I was a little turned off by the fact that it was only 5 chapters though. I will probably seriously consider reading book 2 eventually.
Karin Elisabeth wrote: "I started
and I think it's hilarious."I thought it was too cute. I read the next one,
, right away.
Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ wrote: "... Here is hoping that The Shadow Reader will thrill me."I loved the Shadow Reader, hopefully it works out better for you than Hunting Season.
I am finally getting around to reading
, which is going good so far. Just finished
, which had good and bad points.
Sandra wrote: "Valerie, sorry you didn't like Hunting Season, I still love it :)"I don't know Sandra...I like her Dragon Kin series. i know...there was little plot to speak about.
So far loving the Shadow Reader though.
Just finished
. Not sure why I couldn't get through that the first time I tried to read it. I liked it and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Now on to the third book in my what to read challenge:
Totally lucked out this month and actually enjoyed all three of my what to read challenge books. Now it's on to
and
Audrey wrote: "For some reason I have been reading a lot of teen books lately. I am now reading

Just finished
which is one of my favorite series. And now I'm jumping into another one of my favorite series
and
Read
about the incredibly sweet and sensitive story involving a traumatised woman escaping a horrific situation.
Amy or "Ames" wrote: "Read

Sandra, I'm even more eager for Rose & Sky's story and Sherry & Stag's and Ellie & Quill's...basically all of them, LOL!
Back to Eve and Roarke in
and I'm going to give a listen to the audio version of an old favorite
. I really like Eve and Roarke, but I love Kate and Curran!
I'm halfway through
I have a feeling some major changes are fixing to happen to Georgina. And barely started
Julianne wrote: "I've just started
I'm a little sad that I'm almost at the end of the series."I was sad too, but I at least enjoyed the ending of the final book, I felt like it wrapped things up nicely.

I'm not a huge fan of this series, but I did think those last three books were the best in the series and did a lot to redeem Riley for me.
