Finally finished
and
Currently reading
and just downloaded
and
in audio so I'll be listening to those this week.
Lis what did you think of Horizon? It took me a long time to get into it. I kept putting it down, but once I was into it I loved it. I was happy with the ending.I started
-- it grabbed me right from the beginning. I have several GR and in real life friends who rave about this series. I am listening
and enjoying it.

I think part of me didn't want it to end because its a really good story with such "real" characters, warts and all... Then I was browsing my DNFs and once I got to the beaters trying to swim the river I could not put it down. I couldn't believe I put it off for so long, what a great wrap up and emotional ending. I went back and re-read the beginning. I think I just didn't care about all the new island characters. Just kinda choppy in the beginning.

Did you like Ice Cold Barbara? It has been my favorite in that series.
Lis, that was it exactly for me. The change in points of view were not done well in the beginning, I didn't care about the island characters nor did I want to read from the point of view of what's his name's daughter. But once the beaters were swimming -- it took off for me too. I loved how Sophie took the hard path, she didn't make anything easy or simple. It was so real. I love how she writes. I also really love her crime fiction series, it is funny and very real:
Regina, very true her characters are real. Completely different stories, but my favs Stacia Kane and Diana Gabaldon give you real characters to enjoy too. Didn't really click in my head right away until now, but probably why I liked it so well. I will have to try her mystery series out too.

Good to know!
I read
today. I'm amazed how underrated the Mageverse series is. Not high art but definitely worth reading.

I really need to get to work on developing that clone of myself that can go to work and do laundry so that I have more time to read. And with the money I make selling them to other readers, I'll be able to buy even more books!

Reading
for Bingo. I know it's had mixed reviews and I'm a bit ambivalent about it as well. The MCs just don't seem to mesh well at all so far.

I like it too but I'm having issues listening to it. I have an iPhone and using Overdrive (with my public library). It's not working, can't transfer it to my phone. Listening from my laptop is ok but not great. Anyone knows how to make it work?
Valerie, are you downlading Mp3s or WMAs? If it is a WMA, you need to download it to your computer (through the overdrive console) and then transfer to your iphone by connecting your iphone, opening up iTunes and opening up the overdrive console -- and then choosing to transfer from the overdrive console. WMAs need to be converted, that is why.
I am reading a new book/series by one of my fave authors Sophie Littlefield
and I am really liking it.I am also listening to
and enjoying it.
I finished the audio of
and I enjoyed it so much that I jumped right into
. This is such a pleasant surprise of a series for me. And so funny, without going overboard on the humor. I'm loving it.
I shouldn't complain, I've had a reasonable run lately. I think that I was just expecting too much and this was just so disappointing, when it could been so much better.

Cool! I love the idea that I have a longish series to get into. LOL Lis, that is a lot of books. The Dublin book interests me.
Well I couldn't finish
so I had to do a lot of rearranging of challenges. Luckily I had to do a re-read of
this month, so all is good for Bingo and my sanity.
