Paris, that is a great place to be in. :) I remember being so darned excited!

Oh Kel!! I didn't realize I would love him as much as I ended up loving him. I hope we see him again.

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments I finished Shady Lady (Corine Solomon, #3) by Ann Aguirre last night and jumped right into Devil's Punch (Corine Solomon, #4) by Ann Aguirre . Hopefully I'll get to read more tonight, but my eyes hurt so I might just end up going to bed early.

On the Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh front I'm 20% into it and liking it more than I thought I would.

message 604: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments That is a fun book Sara. :)

message 605: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments I'm reading from the Demonica series too Desire Unchained (Demonica, #2) by Larissa Ione . I was worried about forgetting the world/characters because it's been a while since I read the first but it's going okay so far :)

I might abandon Trial by Fire (Raised by Wolves, #2) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes because it's really slow and kind of dull (and I think it's lied in the book synopsis! I can't believe it, maybe I need to keep reading). I had higher hopes for this anyway, I might try to power through

message 606: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Oh, that is disappointing! Weird about the synopsis?!!

I am reading After The Virus by Meghan Ciana Doidge which is kinda like PNR set in a post-apoc world. I am really liking it so far.

message 607: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments I finished Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh last night and I can see what the appeal is to this series. Although it definitely followed the general PNR formula, I really loved the world. If I didn't have so many books in my must read now TBR mountain, I'd read the next one in the series right now.

Instead I'm gonna start reading Partials (Partials, #1) by Dan Wells

I love this series. I love the uniqueness of blending the basic PNR of cat shifters and wolves with the little sci-fi twist that is the Psy.

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments Psy-net is freaking creepy. that alone will keep me reading the series at least for awhile.

Nalini Singh does a really good job balancing an ongoing story arc about the Psy and Silence along with the romance in each book. Just wait till you get to book three. (view spoiler)

I didn't care for the first one very much. The lead female (Annwyl??) was just too abrasive for me. But I got sucked into a buddy read of the second one, and enjoyed it much more than the first. It's one of those series where I have to not think too much and just go with the flow.

I like Deborah Cooke's Dragonfire series better: Kiss of Fire (Dragonfire, #1) by Deborah Cooke

I just today finished the audio version of Caressed By Ice (Psy-Changeling, #3) by Nalini Singh and Man! That scene in the epilogue was HOT! Can't believe I forgot that! Damn!

message 619: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments You know he just keeps getting better with each new release and all the TK skills. I was thinking if you had to rate in order your top 5 Psy/chg guys, who would they be?

Christine | 850 comments Lis wrote: "You know he just keeps getting better with each new release and all the TK skills. I was thinking if you had to rate in order your top 5 Psy/chg guys, who would they be?"

Good question! Let's see...1 & 2 are easy: Judd & Hawke. Then maybe Riley, Dorian, and Drew. Riaz was pretty hot in the new book, but we haven't known his character as long. And I'm hoping Psy Counselor Kaleb gets his own book. I just know he's got some serious stuff going on in his past. And someday, when he's all grown up, Kitt!

message 621: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments 1 Drew (he's got the Rhage vibe), 2 Hawke, 3 Judd (he can do those magic TK things), 4/5 Dorian and Lucas (luv cats)... Kit, Kenji, Tomas, Kaleb are getting interesting, need more.

message 622: by Christine (new)

Christine | 850 comments On her blog a year or two ago someone was begging her to write a book about the rat alpha. They made a surprisingly good argument for him, but I have a heard time seeing it.

message 623: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Teijan, maybe a novella? LKH's Anita series makes her alpha rat sexy.

message 624: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Hawke and Sienna are probably my fave H/h and I'd definitely be up for seeing Teijan find a mate. I mean he must be a little tortured since he (view spoiler) and we all know how we feel about a handsome, tortured hero ;)

I've just finished and really enjoyed Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1) by Kalayna Price . It's like a cross of all the urban fantasy books (I put the connections in spoiler tags just in case):
Rachel Morgan - (view spoiler)
Anita Blake - (view spoiler)
Dresden Files - (view spoiler)
Cassie Palmer - (view spoiler)
and a touch of Weather Wardens - (view spoiler)

Sandra | 25908 comments Yes I enjoyed Grave Witch too Josie, finished it about a month ago and had to buy the next 2 :)

Started Kitty Goes to War (Kitty Norville, #8) by Carrie Vaughn this afternoon, good so far.

message 626: by Josie (last edited Jun 09, 2012 07:30AM) (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Yeah I wanted to go straight onto the next one! I knew I should've grabbed it at the library when I had the chance, I just didn't learn my lesson with Changeless/Blameless did I! Also I got Hard Bitten without taking out Drink Deep which was ridiculous of me... *facepalm*

Enjoy Kitty, I've only read the first two so need to get cracking with that series, I'm glad you like it!

He's looking very hunky there. Although we were wondering in another group I belong to about his cleavage. He seems to have more than Granuaile!

message 628: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments I still need to start that series (Alex Craft), Josie. I have 1-2 on-hand though. Big surprise, I know.

Sandra, I didn't realize that I'd blown past ya on the Kitty Norville series. hehe ;) I just have Kitty's Greatest Hits and #10 out soon TBR.

I started Finding Magic (Downside Ghosts, #0.5) by Stacia Kane yesterday and haven't had time to sit and read. But, so far it's good. Chess @ 18, still a Church student.

Maybe, but it looks pretty rock hard. Between the tattered jeans, scrunched up tshirt, necklace, and tousled curly hair I just want to sink my claws into all that yummy goodness. I also can't wait to see what Granuaile will play since she's made it to the cover.

Jeann (Happy Indulgence) (happyindulgence) | 1151 comments I'm trying to finish Splendor (Luxe, #4) by Anna Godbersen at the moment which is a bit of a chore, I think I grew bored of this series after the 2nd one.

I started A Bad Day for Mercy A Crime Novel by Sophie Littlefield Reading Classes On Culture and Classism in America by Barbara Jensen and I am still listening to Dawn on a Distant Shore (Wilderness, #2) by Sara Donati

Kerstin | 862 comments Regina wrote: "I can't stand the Iron Druid series and I still think the cover is delish. :D..."

And there I thought I was the only one who didn't like this series. But I agree on the cover!

I just finished Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking, #3) by Patrick Ness which I didn't enjoy as much as the previous two books and I'm about half way through Master of Crows by Grace Draven , which started a bit slow but seems to get better and better.

message 639: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments My hubby is on book 4 of the Iron Druid series; he really likes it. I, however, haven't read any of them yet. No real rush to either, but I have them when/if I wanna.

Don't think I mentioned it at the time, but I read Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy, #1) by Wendy Higgins a month or so ago and LOVED it. It was probably the best (or one of the best) YA angel/demon books I have ever read. I cannot wait for book #2.

Has anyone else read it? If so, what'd ya think?

message 640: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Oh funny you say that, Steph, I was just looking at that yesterday and wondering if it was any good. Glad to hear you love it, I'm always wary of YA angel books after Fallen &co but Angelfall and Unearthly seem to have gone some way to restore my faith. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on it :)

@Kerstin: So pleased that you're getting into 'Master of Crows' - I loved it! It's just my type of book really.

message 641: by Steph, Serious series addict (last edited Jun 10, 2012 01:32AM) (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments I have enjoyed several others (esp. Angelfall! - it didn't feel like a YA to me) though I haven't read Fallen. Some of the angel books I've read in the past (YA and adult) have been a little too religious-heavy for my liking. SE's heroine is very religious, but it felt right not forced - if that makes sense. Anyway, don't wanna scare ya off thinking it's Bible pushing or anything, so I'll stop there. LOL!

message 642: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments That's true, Angelfall wasn't really YA - I took it off that shelf straight after finishing it lol :P
Religion is a tricky subject in books, eh? Archangel (Samaria, #1) by Sharon Shinn was religious (at the very least faith was a heavily explored theme) but I could handle it since it was set in a fantasy world. That sounds really weird, doesn't it...

message 643: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments Yesterday I started Mistress of Rome (Rome, #1) by Kate Quinn which was going really well but it was in print so when I needed to read something at night, I was too lazy to turn on the lights, LOL! Anyhow, then I started The Sleeping Night by Barbara Samuel on my iPad which is very powerful so far but I don't know if it will have a HEA (interracial couple in Texas after WWII) and the author is really telling it like it was. No whitewashing the whole segregation business.

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments Read Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling, #11) by Nalini Singh - I hope Kaleb's book is next.

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments No, I understand what you mean, Josie. ;)

Sound intense, DG.

Kaleb's book should be very good. I gotta read Tangle soon!

LOL Sara, GTK.

I've finished Finding Magic (Downside Ghosts, #0.5) by Stacia Kane and enjoyed a peek at Church-Student-Chess @ 18.

I've started Devil's Gate (Elder Races, #4.6) by Thea Harrison and am enjoying it so far. The H/h are both a bit buttoned up, so I'm lookin' forward to their "unbuttoning". Wink wink nudge nudge LOL!

message 647: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments Just finished Devil's Punch (Corine Solomon, #4) by Ann Aguirre last night and even though I rated 4/5 I'm still totally unsure about it. The book had all of the things I've come to love about Ann Aguirre's books, but the whole setting of the book and some of the character developments left me annoyed. I can't wait for the next book, which is supposed to be the last in the series, to see how she wraps all of this up.

Now on to finishing up Shadowflame (Shadow World, #2) by Dianne Sylvan

I love Dianne Sylvan's series. A lot of readers were infuriated by some events in book 2. While I didn't "like" it, I felt it really worked with the story and the history of these characters. I'll be curious to see what you think.

I just finished that on Saturday, and I really enjoyed. Actually, I enjoyed it more than the books from her other series. I'm hoping to get to the next in the series, Immortal Rider, soon. Especially since it starts with the dread I, which I need for several challenges.
