Yeah Sarah. It's odd but in a good way. For a debut novel...it's not half bad, just à few forgettable details.

:) What an odd but delightful book!"I don't know why, but I am completely captivated by that creepy cover.
I admit it, the cover did it for in getting the book. Christine, think moving gypsi circus caravan....all bizar and misterious.

It really sounds like my kind of book.
Its out of control, so I'm knocking a couple off the freebie TBR mountain. Read
and
.Working on
.Finished listening to
and a wee bit disappointed, not sure if I'm mad at Harris, vamps, or shifters... So I'm in a kiltish mood and doing a re-listen of
Finished
last night...love that series and I am both anxious and sad for the last book to come out. I keep forgetting to bring
in the car with me so I'm still only at chapter 2. I'm lame.Started
this morning and I'm actually really enjoying it so far.
Christine wrote: "I keep telling myself I am not starting any new series until I catch up on a few I've already started, but then I see all these tempting new books."I tell myself that all the time, Christine. I have so many series to keep up with and yet I can't resist the lure of a new book.

. I have so many buddy reads this month that Allie Beckstrom has been pushed back until June. I'm assuming there's a big cliffhanger, so maybe I should wait until it's closer to Magic For A Price.

The wait between books isn't going to be as hard as it was between the last one and this one. I still can't wait though. I adore Allie and Zayvion and Shame and Terric.
listening to Women of the Otherworld series this week. On
now. Also reading
which I don't want to finish yet (will it be a third book? argh! I'm enjoying it)
I just finished
which I loved and I'm trying to jump right into
, but the beginning isn't nearly as catchy and I'm finding that I'm having to force myself to continue.I hate when I finish a great book and I go to read the next one and I just can't get into it. I can never tell if the book is really that bad or if it just isn't holding up to the high I got off the book before it. I'm sure I've probably DNF'd books just because the beginnings weren't as good as the book before it, but that if I would have stuck with it, the book would have been great.

. I'll probably get to it in June... hopefully. I know what you mean about great books. I always feel sorry for the book that follows. The best part is when you manage to read a few great books in a row. Love it when that happens!

If I've finished a great book I find that I have to leave it till the next day sometimes before I can start something new. So I just potter around here or re-read good bits of previous favs etc etc.Just finished
which was great, I'd say 4.5 stars :)
Sara wrote: "I just finished
. I'm torn about this book. I gave it a 3/5 rating."I gave the first book three stars also, and it's now my favorite PNR series. I just wasn't sure what to make of the unique world Nalini Singh created in this first book.
I'm still reading
but I also started
. I had never even heard of this author until I won this book in a contest last month. I'm only a few chapters in, but so far I'm pleasantly surprised.
Just finished
last night and really enjoyed it. Also finished
yesterday and liked that one too. Hopefully I can keep the good books coming. Starting
and

Book three is one of my favorites from the series. Judd. *sigh*
I just started a "reread" of this series by listening to it on audio, and I'm on book 2. I've found that for me, Nalini Singh has a real gift of making feel what the characters are feeling, rather than just telling me like some authors.

Ooh I've been looking forward to reading Cinder all year, and finally got my hands on a hard copy :) good to hear it was a favourite!
I'm almost done with
, which is the only book in that series I haven't read. I've really enjoyed it because of the interesting convos about art (the hero, the heroine AND her father are all artists.) I'm also listening to
but I'm going slower there. It's not an easy book but what else to expect from Tana French?
I'm reading
loving me some Cat & Bones.I've been looking at
thought it looked really interesting. Glad to see that it was a interesting read. Same with
&
Just finished, and I'd say its nearly as good as Dragon Bound, much better than #2 & #3.
#5 due out in November looks to be just as good. It is another Dragos & Pia story.

and it was amazing in an unexpected way! I totally loved the Sailor Moon inspiration. Reviewed it here. Prince Kai totally reminds me of tuxedo mask! Not sure what I'll read next as my buddy read is due on the 21st!
I finished
last night. I really enjoy this series. The books are like fun action movies. But the ending! I have to wait how long to find out the consequences of what happened in the last three pages? At least it's a good kind of frustration. I also started
. I think I might just enjoy this Christmas-themed story more now than I would if I was actually immersed in the holiday in December.
DG, are you enjoying Faithful Place? I may just have a higher tolerance level for the depressing and maudlin. Faithful Place was my favorite by her and it is the only one that ends with a spark of hope.

I'm around the halfway point, though.
Just finished this despite being out and about all day, something good has to happen out of riding buses and trains. LOL.Great book but what a horror of a cliffhanger ..... I shouldn't complain cause I was warned ....
Cliffhanger are hell, at least Kara was not gullible when it happened....it lesssened the sting of it a bit for me.
Currently reading:
Plague Town by Dana FredstiI picked this up yesterday when I went shopping with a friend over in Champaign. First time I've been in an actual bookstore in months (there are none in my town) and I had a long list. ;D After reading the blurb and prologue, I had to have this book and ended up picking it first to read out of all my choices. I'm on page 208 and so far its a keeper. If it continues in the same vein, I will definitely be adding the second book to my to-buy shelf when it comes out.

@Regina: It's a time-travel paranormal romance set in a future post-apocalyptic world (nuclear warfare and plague) with Native American werewolves who prefer to be called "wolves". Plane takes off in the the present and crashes in the future, many die, some uninjured survivors pair off and search for help without realising the world has changed (regressed by more than 100 years in tech and culture), women are scarce due to the Woman-Killer Plague and werewolves exist. Each survivor has a book where they find mates in the wolves. It's a bloody scary world to be a woman. *shudders*I highly recommend it. Sleeping With the Wolf is the first book.
Huh, it sounds intriguing! I have never heard of it before -- thanks for posting about it. I am going go get the first one *rushes off to Amazon*

Me too, me too... Can't believe we have to wait to see what happens next."
I finished it almost a week ago and I'm still thinking about it and trying to figure what really was as it seems and what are false impressions meant to trick us. I love the complexity and intrigue. That ending was killer!
