I'm still waiting for the book to come in at the library, but I'm hoping to join you for this one. The only Forster I've read is Howard's End, but I liked that one a lot. Sorry I missed out on The Scarlet Letter discussion. Things got really busy last month, and I had almost no reading time. I'm hoping it will be better in January!
I totally understand that, Anita! I didn't have a lot of time last month either, so there wasn't a whole lot of discussion to miss out on. Glad to have you along for Room with a View!
I'm in, but I haven't started it yet. I'll probably start it today. I had a few library books that had to be returned that had to take priority. Now I'm ready. This is my first experience with Forster, and I'm pretty excited as I've heard great things.
I'm happy to hear you'll be joining, Kristi! Don't worry about starting a bit later. We'll be reading and discussing all month. I hope you end up enjoying your first Forster!
Well, I wasn't planning to start the book until next week sometime. I picked it up at the library yesterday, though, and I opened it up this morning to check out the first paragraph and get a feel for it. Well, a chapter and a half later I realized I was still reading! I can definitely see what you mean, Erin, about its being amusing. It's much lighter in tone than Howards End, and so much fun! Can't wait to get back to it! :-)
It's so different, isn't it? I've read Howards End and A Passage to India so far, neither of which really hinted that Forster might have lighter novels out there!
