Beth | 4 comments While I was editing the page for my novel Microgravity, I added some character names. I went back to edit these characters and found that one of them, "Ben," had a description pertaining to another book in which Ben was a werewolf. I deleted this description, thinking since it was on the Microgravity page it would apply only to my book. Unfortunately, I think I altered the description for this other series, which I believe was written by Patricia Briggs (Moon Called, Blood Bound, etc.)

I'd like to fix it and to apologize to this other author, but I don't know how.

Unless you still have the description in your browser's cache, I don't know of any way to undo that sort of deletion.

Beth | 4 comments Rivka,

I looked for it and couldn't find it, so I emailed the author at an address I got from her website. I hope she won't be too upset.

It was interesting to me, though, that the description I deleted applied to Ben-characters all over Goodreads, not just hers. All sorts of different Bens in different novels were described as a werewolf.

Do you have any idea how to remove a character from a book description without deleting it from the Goodreads database?

Unfortunately, this is an issue that comes up with single-name characters. I don't have enough experience with character editing to make any suggestions of how to fix it.

Beth | 4 comments I received an email from the author's husband, who said they weren't upset about it and that the character description had probably been posted by a fan.
