I didnt really like that Arya became queen. Chris set us up for Eragon and Arya to get together. Now they'll never see each ever again.

He teased us with a relationship between Arya and Eragon and then ripped it right out from under us. He should not have built up to something that was never going to happen.
Agreed. Eragon even mentions in the end that what Arya is doing is not right. Not only does she have too much power, but as a rider she is also not supposed to have any ties (precisely the reason Eragon has to leave). Being Queen is a huge tie!

or maybe she fakes her death or something...that would be an interesting book to read, with arya trying to keep the fact that she is still alive a secret while trying to travel to get to Eragon...

That would be an interesting twist! Sadly, it does not seem like Paolini has any plans to continue this story, at least not any time soon.
Harry C. wrote: "apparantly, christopher is gonna do sci fi books next"Thats depressing, I was really hoping for some backstory on Angela.
Jared wrote: "He said somewhere that he might do more books on alagaesia just not about eragon"Thats good to know!
On another note, I had a random thought today. I was thinking that Murtagh and Thorn will also probably join Eragon wherever he is, eventually. Especially since he doesn't have many other options.
Harry C. wrote: "ooooo ill bet he does a book from murtaghs point of view"That would be great! Murtagh is one of my favorites!
Harry C. wrote: "yeah and he left us with a cliff hanger..."Yea, there is definately a lot left to discover concerning Murtagh and Thorn.
I just don't understand what he was trying to do. I like many other fans read this series over the last 10 years and some point whether you admit it or not you were at least aware of eragon and arya's relationship. I feel like it's more than a normal bad ending like one that can not be recovered. It would be different if this was not the last book of the "cycle"! I also can't stand the fact that for some reason he wants to write other things. While they may be good since he is an accomplished author I don't believe in my heart that they will be this accomplished and i'm sorry for that but I just want this to rapped up sooner than another 10 years. Please tell me your view on this especially on the relationship of E and A because that is what ruined this incredible book for me as i feel it has for too many others.

While I would like to read other books, I would really like to know what happens with Eragon after this cycle. I really feel like he left it open. It made no sense that Eragon and Arya did not get together, since the other 3 books were clearly leading up to that.

I was extremely disappointed with this book... He didn't tie up the loose ends neatly at all :(
I mean you can not end books this way unless you are going to write more. In my opinion one of the worst ending situations of all time i understand what he wanted eragon to do but he mad angelas prediction come true in every part but the part with presumably arya.

That series, while sad, still had closure. Also that ending felt right. This ending felt like Paolini said "Well I did say he would leave forever and now I cant find a way around it, so I guess Eragon has to leave. But I think I'll still leave some stuff open in case I get bored one day and want to write another book."
Thisfan1 wrote: "I just don't understand what he was trying to do. I like many other fans read this series over the last 10 years and some point whether you admit it or not you were at least aware of eragon and ary..."Totally agree. I'm incredibly disappointed :(. I want more!
holy crap my sister was reading eclipse and it said: if angela turrns out to be a WITCH then i wont care. kinda wierd, huh?
Harry C. wrote: "holy crap my sister was reading eclipse and it said: if angela turrns out to be a WITCH then i wont care. kinda wierd, huh?"HAHA I remember that scene from Eclispe. It is kind of ironic that Meyer would choose to refernce Angela as being a witch as opposed to any of the other characters.
