SOLVED. story about perfect family with messed up secrets [s]

The family is the sort of perfect blonde rich tennis-playing family you find ruling a small town ... behind the scenes: some weird potion that a doctor gives the mother that makes her slightly zombie-like; the same mother is a bit of a nympho; same mother had an incestual relationship with her son resulting in a slightly slow little boy - the mom went off her weird potion while pregnant with this child which makes this child way more normal than anybody else in the family;

That's about all I can remember, hopefully that rings bells with somebody. The cover had a picture of a big house behind a sort of ghost-like floating woman with blond hair and a white dress.

This has to be weird enough to jog somebody's mind, lol.

Perhaps "If There Be Thorns?" That's my only guess. Sounds very V.C. Andrews-ish to me, too.

It does sound very much like V.C. Andrews, unfortunately I don't think it is. I looked through all her books already and none of her published works are what I'm looking for.

For some reason a title similar to "the House is Burning" is stuck in my head, but doing searches for that doesn't get me anywhere.

I should have just searched for "house burning" on goodreads before since apparently it knows more than google :)
