~Megan~ (megadee) Man, I can't WAIT to get to New York to Dallas, Heather. I can't get my next audiobook to sync up to my iPhone for some reason, so I may just have to break down and read it so I can keep moving toward this one!

That's a little sad, Megan. I can't imagine reading the books the regular way. lol Just love these audios so much.
The book was really good though, so any way you can get to that one, do it. =)

rameau | 90 comments I just finished The Price of Innocence by Susan Sizemore (the ebook reprint). o.O I'm trying to decide whether I want to post the review today or ever and if I have the will to live and read another romance novel. Ever.

message 356: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments LOL rameau, was that book really that bad???! I don't think I've ever come across a life-suckingly bad romance before.

It took me three days to read it. Three. And I was falling asleep or developing a migraine all the while. Yes. It's bad.

rameau | 90 comments P.S. Here's the review.

message 361: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Great review rameau. I'll be keeping well away from that one!

Man-oh-man! Such a shame when they do this. Great review, Rameau! Made me smile.

message 363: by rameau (new)

rameau | 90 comments Thanks. There are plenty of people who liked it, but I've become quite attached to all things plotty and this one didn't deliver. If you're a fan of a certain kind flowery writing, The Price of Innocence might be for you (assuming you can stomach the trivialisation of rape and slavery).

message 364: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Reading three books concurrently, never a good idea, but I'm trying to pace myself on buddy reads, lol.
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes , Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee and The Deception of the Emerald Ring (Pink Carnation, #3) by Lauren Willig . Luckily they're all so different that I'm keeping the story-lines straight!! (hope I haven't just jinxed myself!)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Jenny, I loved At the Bride Hunt Ball (Devine & Friends, #1) by Olivia Parker it's one of my favorites :)

message 366: by rameau (new)

rameau | 90 comments I started About That Night (FBI / US Attorney, #3) by Julie James . Maybe it'll restore my faith in romance. If not, I still have Courtney Milan.

message 367: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Don't you hate it when that happens? LOL

In case I haven't said it, I'm reading The Deception of the Emerald Ring by Lauren Willig with Lisa Kay and CaroB. I absolutely adore this series!

It really drags in the middle but has decent enough finish. I want to read more from the author but I do hope she'll introduce secondary plot elements in her other books.

message 379: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) I have heard this from others, Abby, and I'm avoiding it at all costs. As far as I'm concerned, their story ended with the phenomenal book one.

Well it IS a good book but there's a situation in it that just makes you want to kick his ass from here to kingdom come... I'll be reading the next one definitely though

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments After the day I had yesterday, and the one today, I put The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley on hold. It seems very dark and deep. Definitely NOT want I want right now. So, I started Taming Mad Max by Theresa Ragan and am liking it quite a bit!

message 386: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Susan, that one sounds perfect!

message 387: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments CaroB, I just finished it! It was wonderful! The secondary characters were just as engaging as the primary couple. I'm looking forward go reading more by that author.

message 388: by Ann (new)

Ann Noell (fantasyannie) just finished At the Bride Hunt Ball (Devine & Friends, #1) by Olivia Parker a charming read!

now reading India Black (Madam of Espionage, #1) by Carol K. Carr

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Reading Virgin River (Virgin River, #1) by Robyn Carr and am a little disturbed that I just read about Jack and woman named Charmaine; especially as I figure Jack is supposed to end up with Mel. I just don't like to read about the hero being with someone other than the heroine in their book.

rameau | 90 comments I read The Governess Affair (Brothers Sinister, #0.5) by Courtney Milan last night and pretty much loved it. Although, like with all Courtney Milan novellas, I wish it was longer.

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments CaroB wrote: "I've heard a lot about the Virgin River series, would like to hear what you think Susan!"

CaroB, I really liked it! It was unsteamy enough that I'd let my almost 13 year old read it ;) Sometimes, reading stuff that is lacking on the steam factor is refreshing and this fit the bill and it still was romantic and good. Wholesome is a word that comes to mind...even though Jack managed to get so worked up once that he didn't even take his boots off LOL

message 396: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) It gets better as the series goes on....you begin to love everyone in the town. It's a real ensemble series, I feel.

Ooh, is that a new series for her? She's pretty much on my autobuy list, so very glad to know this is out.

Lina | 5563 comments Susan and Megan, good to know about the Virgin River series, I'll move it up my to-get list. Although must admit, wholesome is not the mood I've been in recently :-)

message 399: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Maybe wholesome is the wrong word since the heroine is getting pregnant without being married and the 14 YO girl is hoochie looking and doing it with the 16 YO boy LOL

message 400: by Ann (new)

Ann Noell (fantasyannie) Finished India Black (Madam of Espionage, #1) by Carol K. Carr a very good read but not really a romance more of a spy mystery.
also finished The Presence by Heather Graham a suspenseful read that kept me guessing until the end.

now reading The Lady of the Storm (The Elven Lords, #2) by Kathryne Kennedy
