Sorry to hear that it didn't measure up, Jyl22075. I will agree with you that it didn't have the same magic as Anna, but I liked it as it seemed to have its feet more in the real world. We just have a year plus to wait onIsla and the Happily Ever After.

He's gorgeous and all but are the three brother's supposed to be triplets? I don't think so....
LOL.

My favorite was Beatrix. Fun, fun series. Hope you enjoy them.
Right now I'm reading
and started listening to
in the car. I just got my copy of
and will start that on Wednesday. I also picked up the first couple of the Drake sisters books by Feehan that I'm thinking of starting.

, though I only have a couple more months to wait rather than a year plus.

Heather wrote: "I'm thinking about skipping book #2 and 3 in the Royal House of Shadows series so I can read

I bought it too, just always get a little nervous about jumping around in a series. I think some publishing elves will take my Kindle away in the night. =)
Heather wrote : "I'm thinking about skipping book #2 and 3 in the Royal House of Shadows series so I can read
. Mistake? "Not really a mistake. Not too much happened in terms of going forward with the overall plot in #2 and 3. I enjoyed them MUCH more than the first. #2 was by an author that I've enjoyed before (and just yesterday LOL) and #3 was a Goldilocks and the 3 bears story, very well written.
And in case any one was wondering LOL I decided to read
I had started it back in August and just didn't get into it. I'm liking it this time around.
Just finished reading
and was really disappointed. I've heard so much about this author, and this book wasn't a huge recommendation for me as my first read of hers.About to start
and
for some buddy reads coming up this week.
Caro, I've had several of my friends tell me NOT to read the KMM Highlander books in order. They all say #4 is the best. And that is the one I've read and i enjoyed it. Sorry that you didn't care for it.
Hey all! I been away for ages, I swear I have the worst luck with computers. My laptop died, again, for the 4th or 5th time, but I think it's solved now, at least for a little while. I've got my old 2003 desktop hooked up and it's slower than cold molasses but at least I can get online now. One good thing about the lack of computer-time is I've been able to read a whole lot more lol. I've recently read
,
,
, and
, plus some other non-romance books. They all got about 3.5-4 Stars, so it was good reading at least :)
Jyl22075 wrote: "Getting ready to start Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3). Very excited to see what happens with Bella and Z. "By far my favorite of the series, Jyl22075. Loved how Z evolved in it.
Haha, I was like wait a minute, I don't remember that character name LOL! You never know with JR Ward, though, so I just shrugged and moved on!
~Megan~ wrote: "Haha, I was like wait a minute, I don't remember that character name LOL! You never know with JR Ward, though, so I just shrugged and moved on!"Hey, these little fingers have a mind of their own, LOL!
So, I hunkered down and read
and
, so now I'm reading
to finish the series. Figured while I was in the zone, just finish it. As the series moved along in books I liked each book a little more than the last, so here's hoping Abyss is stellar.
I felt the same way, Heather. I liked each more than the last. I'll read the last one soon. I'm reading
. I started
but I have to sit at the computer to read it and I just don't feel like sitting for hours a the computer so I may shelf it till it comes out in paper or kindle.
Just finished
I am in love with this series!!! Can't wait to start
but I'm a little surprised it's Poppy's story next and not Leo's. There was definitely a set up for something to happen between Leo and the governess Miss Marks, I thought surely that would be the next book.
Tracey wrote: "There was definitely a set up for something to happen between Leo and the governess Miss Marks, I thought surely that would be the next book."At least it isn't last! ☺
I ♥Harry♥.
Well hopefully the funny banter between Leo and Miss Marks keeps up in the next book. I did enjoy that :). And I'm looking forward to Poppy's happily ever after, especially after her disappointing season in London.
Heather, Isn't Allyson James a pen name of Jennifer Ashley who wrote The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie? I'm pretty sure it is and if that's the case, I'd imagine that book will be pretty good :)
It is, but I wasn't blown away by The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie as I'm not a huge fan of historicals. Don't raise the pitchforks. =)Hoping I like this modern/paranormal more. It seems more up my alley.
So, do you prefer your romance with a splash of paranormal activity or just plain ole' contemporary?
I've only really gotten into paranormals in the last 2 years, and I do like historicals, but I think rom/sus would be my favourite sub-genre as well. A good contemporary well done can just be crazy-good, but unfortunately there are also a lot of so-so ones around. I think historicals and paranormals offer escapism, because it's nothing like my own situation, so it all depends on my mood as to what I'll for next to read.
I've read some romance suspense before...I love Lora Leigh's Seals and Elite Ops. Of course, they're more
I hear you, Jenny! I just received notices from the library for books I
really
want to read (one has been on the “waitlist” since November!). Luckily that one starts with “V”.
